It did however have a healthy selection of plants that appeared very robust and fresh . The cafe was very busy but had a nice selection of cakes , baked goods , hot meals and sandwiches . A bit of a bottleneck at the coffee machine but it was handmade as opposed to a push dispenser so could not complain . The shop area is a little cramped in contrast to our nearest branch in Bearsden but still has a reasonable selection of goods . If I had more time I would have bought some plants as they looked extremely healthy but sadly had to get on the road again.

Throughout the year they hold various events including lecture and demonstrations there is usually a nominal fee to attend these. For just £10 you can join their gardening club this allows you to get 10% of a range of plants and seeds you also earn reward points every time you shop which can are redeemed as monetary vouchers to spend in the store. In addition you get vouchers entitling you to 2 free teas or coffees each month. So even if you only pop in for a coffee once a month it is still worth joining.

The salmon tasted off. We could smell the fishy-ness before it arrived at the table. He took one bite and confirmed the unpleasantness of the sandwich. My chicken was so overcooked it was rubbery and impossible to chew. We spoke to the manager and she took our plates to the chef. He said the fish was fresh so it was his word against my husband's. We ended up having to actually pay for that salmon but they didn't make us pay for mine. We will not be back. We've been coming here for 25 years. Such a shame.

The shop itself is kept clean although i have to wander around a few times before you can find what you are looking for as most items especially decorative items are all over the shop instead of in one place. The toilets are situated at the entrance to the shop and are needing replaced although do seem clean. The trolleys outside are also needing replaced as they have seen better days. Homebase often have sales on selected items and 10% off days over the weekend which are advertised on the tv. If you are lucky enough to work for argos you also get discount here i think they are sister companies.

This place is definitely worth a visit - and to support local shop owners! The owner was super sweet and gave great recommendations to places to see and eat around town !
