For starters you need to be prepared to receive it as an experience. The idea, which is common at Turkish restaurants, is not to order from a menu but allow your waitress who acts like a diner assistant help you through it. I did t even see a menu anywhere. In my experience, the waitress took me to the section where they keep their appetizers (called mezze) and takes his time explaining how each one is prepared, what's in them, and guides you by asking you questions as to what you want to taste. I went with a complex yogurt based mezze with grilled vegetables and some cold dolma. Then I was asked what type of cooking method I preferred for the fish. As not all fish taste good with all cooking kinds. Once I said I wanted grilled fish, then they recommended some fish that would taste good grilled. I got 'levrek' for me and my mom, and grilled salmon for my son. All fish were expertly prepared and served. I also got some Turkish beer which worked really good with the meal. However if this was a night out with friends instead of my mom & son, I would have opted for rakı, which works incredibly well with any fish dish. It is a stronger drink and I didn't want to get buzzed with my son around. The overall experience was great. I have been living away from Turkey for about 20 years now, and this diner really brought back memories. The best part, all this was less than $50.

You can see the fishing boats came and go and a ferry every once in a while. When you come in they have a display by the front where you can see the daily fresh catch. You pick what u want and the style of cooking. You can have the fish fried or grilled. It comes with two sides rise and fries. To the left they have another counter with other sides and salads. This restaurant serves beer and alcoholic local beverages. After you have ordered your food you find a table and they bring it it you. You pay after the meal. The staff is very helpful. They dont speak English but they communicate lol. I did by pointing. Can't tell you what type of fish I picked. It looked like a snapper to me. The other fish was sardines. They both came debomed,and dreaded. They don't use seasonings here. They do have salt and pepper by the table and they give you a lemon. I found the sardines to be more flavorful. The dish was a good size and good. The prices here are a little higher. I enjoyed my experience here.

We decided to dine outside so we could sit on the patio and enjoy the view of the jellyfish and other fish swimming while we dined. What I absolutely love about this restaurant is that everything is fresh and made to order. We both ordered the Seabass and we were able to select the fish that we wanted! If I could eat fish like this every day, I would. It was that delicious. Season perfectly And cooked to perfection. The skin was light and crispy, and the fish itself again was amazing! I secretly loved the french fries that were served as a side with the fish. Crispy, lightly seasoned, and a perfect accompaniment to the fish. Note that there is a much hyped restaurant right next door to these guys, but having eaten at both places, I'd say Yusuf'un Yeri offers much better food, service and value.
