They told me they replaced all 4 spark plugs and engine filter due to a misfire on cylinder 1. On Wednesday, July 23, my engine light came back on. I called and got the car in next day. I was told that the car had coolant leaking and that I could have a cracked head gasket - costing well over $3k but that they weren't sure that was 100% the issue. I took my car back to get a second opinion. If my car had really had a bad head gasket my engine would have overheated, I would have smelled anti freeze in the oil, and/or notice black smoke when driving. I had none of these symptoms. Take a look at the supposedly "new" spark plugs. There is no way that these spark plugs were two weeks old. My new mechanic actually replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils. This place also intentionally unplugged my vacuum line so my new mechanic had to fish for it and replace it. I do not recommend this place and Fred's service. I feel manipulated as a woman taking her car to be fixed and being told certain things were done and bigger fixes needed to be made. It looks to me that they just took the code off, wanted me to come back, tell me it was a bigger service, allow them to fix it, and then actually replace the spark plugs for way over the price. I cannot believe such awful mechanics exist. Please, do not take your car here. You are better off finding a different mechanic. There is absolutely no way these were the spark plugs that were supposedly replaced on July 17. I am doubtful this shop has Ford spark plugs, that these would have so much buildup after just two weeks, one is cracked, and one isn't gapped. This is not the place for quality service.

The issue is, and why this station now legitimately receives one star from me as well... according to the paperwork I've now rechecked from the correct inspection station (sorry about that, fellow Clinton Yelpers), this guy *owns both of them*. No wonder why his reviews are filtered! Of course he thinks his own business is "honest, friendly, excellent workers, and provide the best prices for their customers." Except good business owners don't leave fake 5-star reviews on Yelp, in which they insult their customers who leave 1-star reviews (or creepy Yelp compliments the day following my initial post of this review, which you can see on my profile for your own edification). Also, an addendum to my first review, because I think it matters when talking about dodgy and poor business practices that evidently go all the way to the top: I discovered over the course of the following week that they had given me blades that worked so much worse than my initial blades -- to the point that I question if they were even new -- and they're too big for my wipers, causing them to rub together. Thankfully there are much cheaper gas stations in town as well. I will now be making it a point to find out which stations this man owns and avoiding all of them for gas, service or inspection.

My daughters car was given a red rejection sticker due to her windshield fluid pump not spraying enough washer fluid. When I explained that it was probably clogged and could be fixed with a paper clip they explained it was the pump and could be fixed for $489 installed. I found a paper clip in the dash and it took 2 minutes to unplug, but I was told it still lacked pressure. Instead of being arrested as I was about to lose it, I drove up the street, paid another $35 and got the sticker. Stay away from putting yourself in the position I put myself in and check out the place before doing business.

We discovered that the grey water tank was 1/3 full and the black water tank was 2/3 full. Yes, that's right; they sent us on our way with a tank full of someone else's waste. I immediately submitted a case with Progressive Roadside Assistance today at 1:35pm and was matched with Pro Tech Towing in Waltham.
