Menu. "Brooklyn IPA"

Good vibes. Small bar. Tight when crowded. Suggestion- maybe have a dedicated spot at the bar at either end that allows people to come up and order drinks from. Hard to order when bar is full and it takes awhile to catch eyes with the bartender. My one complaint. I understand the bar is busy. Please pay attention. Bartenders should know their drink menu. I ordered a nonalcoholic drink for my friend, the Brooklyn IPA. Then watched the bartender pour a draft Goose IPA. That's a serious issue. People who don't drink deserve to have fun and not worry about breaking sobriety. Please pay attention or care a little more.

We came here on a Sat night, so ofc a big night out! The space gets so tight though, where people have to squeeze between two people to get by. I liked the music, and general vibes of the place is great, where everyone is really friendly. There are also two bathrooms in the middle of the bar, so you have to really be careful else the person leaving the bathroom can potentially hit the door open right on you, and the line to those bathrooms - as you can imagine - are not efficient. I did enjoy the digital jukebox, where you pay $1 (cash) to pick a song. The queue does get long, and only displays the next five songs, but it's a good excuse to get one to stay longer ;)

This place was so much fun. We stopped in for a quick drink & ended up sticking around for a few. When we came it was decorated floor to ceiling with fun colorful Christmas and other items. Super fun spot with a great location and lively crowd.

Came by on a Sunday afternoon and had a good time! Cubbyhole is a friendly bar with really fun decor. The bar is cash only so come prepared! They do have an atm inside so you can always take out cash if needed. Had a beer and hung out listening to some tunes. Lively crowd. Glad to have come by Cubbyhole for a drink!

Great queer (mostly for femmes) bar!! Love that the lesbians get a little slice of the village.

Great crowd, friendly vibes. People sang along to the songs that came on. Yes, it's small and crowded but there's enough room to boogy. It's a diverse crowd of people, including someone else who also used to live in NYC visiting. People are willing to have conversations with strangers and share warm smiles. Photo of the festive ceiling here for the scrapbook, and to let people have their privacy. Get fruity here!

The only thing that's not perfect about Cubbyhole is how tiny it is. While it fits the name it makes it really hard to enjoy it on the weekend because it gets So Packed. On weekdays it's much better though. We originally went on a Saturday but got overwhelmed by how many people were there so we went on a Monday instead and it was great! The bartender was super kind and they even ordered pizza for everyone. CASH ONLY

Fun place to grab a drink! In all honesty, I was a little trashed so I don't remember enough to review it completely with details! Fun place Good drinks Love the vibes!

So I wanted to go to one of the historic lesbian bars of NYC and get to experience going to a queer bar for the first time. Although the bartender was respectful, it seems that there is a negative bias towards non-white patrons as one reviewer mentioned. The bartender was more talkative and engaging with the white patrons compared to me (and it made things more awkward being the only Black person in the bar). The space is small and can get crowded, so it can be a health concern with COVID. Plus, the outside seating at the time wasn't available. Positives: Drinks were pretty cheap, and two bathrooms available. If you're a BIPOC, I wouldn't really recommend going here unless you got your friends with you. It's a shame, really since I am aware of the lesbian bars being closed down and disappearing. But if you're not gonna make queer BIPOC, who contribute much to the LGBTQIA+ community with activism, culture, etc. and still face discrimination in the community, welcome then why bother having a queer bar?

Can my girlfriend from England use her passport as ID to get in?

Give it whirl. Should work!

Is this 21 and over?

Hi Kim: Yes, you must be 21 years old, with a state, or federally issued ID to enter the bar

Are dogs allowed?

Unfortunately, In NY, only service dogs, with proof of service are allowed in eating and drinking establishments. Not our rules, we would welcome them, but we have to abide by the edicts of the Board of Health, and the State liquor Authority.

Is the bar cash only still?

Yes!

Do you have to be 21 to get in ? me and my girlfriend are looking for a place to feel accepted.

Hi Jade Sorry, but yes, you must be 21.

Literally what time do they close on Sunday night? It says 4am, but I know it's not the case as I just went at 2am and it was closed.

Hi, so sorry about that. We usually close at 4am, but last night it was unusually slow, so we closed just before 2.

Best way to ask is it a pick up bar 4 older woman?

Yes

What are the drinks price range?

Do older people go to this bar?

Yes, the age range is often pretty wide, and even more so at times when it's not super packed.

Is Cubbyhole 18 or 21+?

21 for everything

If you're on the fence about going to Eagle, well just hop off already and get your bum over there…read more I finally did and realized I had been missing out all this time. This fantastically grungy place is fueled by a mix of thumping beats, leather harnesses, and shirtless men. Even at its busiest, the vibe stays open, fun, and surprisingly well organized. The Wednesday before thanksgiving is apparently known for being the busiest night at the Eagle, and this year's record crowd should have sunk the whole operation, but the staff kept the entire production going smoothly like it was rehearsed. The Eagle's security team deserves direct credit. They managed an impossibly massive crowd without a hitch. Even with thousands trying to get in, the kilometric entrance line and the coat check line that stretched to the roof moved smoothly and never descended into chaos. Dan in particular handled a near-impossible task: recovering my smartwatch from a crowd so packed I had assumed it was gone for good. He somehow retrieved it, safeguarded it, and returned it to me with the utmost professionalism. Music is solid. The vibe is leather and musk. The inclusivity is not just tag line but a daily practice. This bar deserves every positive review on this app. Ignore the haters. Peace!

Leather gay bar with a distinct edge in an edgy neighborhood with staffers who have an edge too : )…read more The whole vibe of the place is meant to be edgy and transgressive. It works on some levels and not on others (no one will be singing show tunes but everyone's trying to look very serious in a faux macho sorta way) Fun place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there

There's no nice way to say it - one of my dearest friends was full-out assaulted by the doorman…read morethis past Saturday night. I was with my friend and my boyfriend. They each had bags for inspection. I did not. I showed my ID to the man and was permitted inside. I stood watching through the door and wondered what was taking so long. Finally I saw my boyfriend calmly gesturing for me to come back out. The man had very gruffly told my boyfriend "no, you go over to the side" - whatever that means - re: his bag. Nasty. It's not against the law for people to have bags and backpacks. You'd think it was the inconvenience of a lifetime to inspect them. My boyfriend comes right from work. My friend had come in from Connecticut. They needed their bags. They didn't mind them being checked at all. They tolerated the large helping of attitude. When I walked back through the door, I saw my friend and the doorman pushing and shoving each other. It was a full-on assault. Other people were watching and horrified. Apparently, my friend had two water bottles in his bag and wasn't permitted to take them in. He simply asked if he could leave them at the front. The doorman said, "I'm not gonna babysit your water!" Wrong. The thing to say is, "You're free to leave them, but I can't be held responsible for them." The both of them had had enough of the attitude and decided we would all just go somewhere else, and said so and turned to leave. Right as my boyfriend gestured for me to come out, the doorman grabbed my friend with both hands and shoved him. My friend is a gentle person and battles a great deal of anxiety. He did not provoke this attack. My boyfriend saw the whole thing with his own eyes. It made absolutely no sense. My friend was completely rattled for hours. We spent the evening trying to help him come down from the adrenaline and shock to his system. Was this a homophobic attack? If so, Flex should be aware of who they have in their employ. Yet it really doesn't matter what the motivation was. It was brutal and it was wrong, plain and simple. My friend's water didn't disturb a single patron that night. The doorman's attack on him did. It was outrageous. What's more? My friend is the most generous tipper anyone could meet. He treats bartenders like they do God's work. Now none of us would ever go back. Why would we? We moved on to Flaming Saddles where the doorman and bartenders were lovely to us in spite of a swelling Saturday night crowd. They were sensitive to my friend and helped replace some of our night's ugliness with kindness. Beware of Flex. Go at your own risk.
