Are you aching for some breathtaking designer concoction beyond your budget? Like way, way thousands of euros eternally past your maximum spending limit? In the past, you and your expensive taste would be shit out of luck. But not anymore. Because Covet just happens to be a pennywise couture-lover's dream come true. That's because you don't buy anything from this shop, you borrow it. That's right, you can deck yourself out in Valentino, Chanel, Dolce and Gabbana, Rebecca Taylor, Armani, and more for a fraction of the cost that these gowns retail for. Ok, so a fraction might just happen to be hundreds of euros, but that's a lot less than buying the thing. And I think it would absolutely be worth every single cent, because the immaculately curated collection at Covet is spectacularly beautiful and amazing. In addition to dresses, you can borrow handbags and accessories. The gowns are mostly very formal, and would be appropriate for a black tie event or a fancy wedding. Though if you wore a gown from Covet you seriously run the risk of of upstaging the bride. But how fun would it be to have this conversation, just once: "Oh my god, you look amazing! Where'd you get that dress??" "This? Oh it's Chanel, dahling."

On 5th July 2014, I was invited to a graduation ball at St Andrew's Oxford, UK. I was very excited…read moreof the opportunity and wanted to make the best of it ! What I did then is fairly simple. I searched on Google : 'rent evening dress rent dublin' and I found COVET. One star for the location : You climb up the stairs and on the top floor of Powerscourt Centre on the left hand side here it is. You wouldn't know what it is, unless you were looking for it. Next door is a hair salon i.e. super practical if you don't want to run around the city looking to get your hair done. One star for the shop : I came into this beautiful boudoir - it sounds just amazing to say that, doesn't it? - and was amazed by the number of dresses hanging around the room. On the right hand side, as you enter the room, you have a immense mirror. You can see yourself head to toe, with heels on ! And I am 5'11''... flat :) One star for the service : I was welcomed by the lady who took care of me. She asked me about the event, the location, and about my idea of the perfect dress. Then we went around the room, she pulled a few dress with my acknowledgement. You could tell she knew what she was talking about, no doubt about her professionalism. Minus one star for the changing room : I agreed to change behind a folding wall. So it wasn't closed. Not that I am shy or anything, but I wish I had had a little more privacy. One star for the dresses : I tried a good selection of evening dresses. They were all to my size and to the floor - hiding my feet. And this surprised because often times I am just being told that I am too tall. Go figure. Anyway, I was given a pair of nude heels to get a better idea of the outfit. The materials were amazing, the designs fantastic, and the colors unbelievable. This shop provides dresses for all kinds of events. Just name it. The one dress I chose was navy blue - I posted a picture :) One star for the accessories : Once my choice was done, the lady offered me to look at earrings to match the dress. I chose a pair of clip blue pendant earrings. You can see them on the picture as well. Price : 190 euros for the dress borrowed for 3 days + earrings (purchased new) The Borrower's Boudoir was the perfect place to go. I found exactly what I was looking for. The fact that I rented the dress was not an issue for me. Next time I go to another fancy event I will want to look different anyway. I highly recommend the place !

We went a long at the weekend to get the bridesmaid dresses, and we did it all quick smart. Upstairs is quite a range of bridesmaid dresses. They have a range of colours and sizes, and someone to pin you into the sample dresses. We first had a root with all the dresses and pulled out the ones we liked. And then tried them on. We were given swatches of colours of what was available. In the end all four of us converged on the one dress fairly quickly and we were all surprised. We're a bit late in ordering (having left only 3 months!) and they still seemed happy to take the order despite us being late The prices start from about 200 euro, so while not cheap for a dress, it does seem to be about the cheapest for a bridal store. Wraps and alterations cost extra!

The range of bridal dresses is amazing! They even do their own collection of bridal dresses all made in Ireland! There is also an alteration person next door. First you have a time to look around yourself at dresses and then you can try on the ones you picked, the sales person also gives some suggestions, which is great! The staffs were very nice although very busy it gets if another customers walk in as they are open all day long but they try to please everybody. I had very good feeling about this place.

I went to these guys in January 2023 to buy suits for my wedding in December 2023 I found the suit…read moreI wanted plus the 5 suits for the groomsmen. I paid for my suit in full on the same day €500, measurements were taken, and they told me everything would be sound as there's plenty of time, which you'd expect given it was nearly a year away. I booked an appointment months in advance to have the groomsmen in for their fittings at the start of September 2023. I flew 3 lads over from the UK and 2 drove up from the country. When we attended the appointment, unfortunately they didn't have any of the suits I had chosen for the lads to try for the fittings! This was a little odd considering the amount of notice they were given. Anyway, they proceeded to take all the lad's measurements and shoe sizes, which took all of 5 minutes for all 5 of them! The lads were a bit taken back by this as it seemed very half arsed and they didn't get to try anything on apart from a generic blazer. Declan, the owner/manager, assured us that's all they need, and it will be sound, "don't worry" he says, "all will be good and there's loads of time if any adjustments are needed". We asked if we would need to come back in for another fitting, to which they replied 'no' it should be sound unless there's anything major, and you can have any minor adjustments done locally yourselves. I paid a further €500 towards the lad's suits and they cleared the remainder, €175 each. A full balance of €1875 paid in advance. From here on is where the many, many issues started. I received and collected the suits and shoes in October; I flew the 3 lad's suits over to the UK myself, while on a short visit. Nearly everything was wrong, blazers, shoes, shirts, trousers etc. A few of the items fit but I had to bring a lot of the clothes back to Dublin with me and a pair of shoes. I went back into the shop the following week and explained the issues, they apologised and said they'll have everything sorted in a week or so. 2 weeks passed and I hadn't heard anything, so I called numerous times. The response was 'definitely here this week, don't worry' this was the same response for a further 3 weeks. I booked and went in for my final fitting, around a month before the wedding, only a couple of minor adjustments were needed for my suit. I then asked what was happening with the lad's suits, it's been over a month and you said they would be here. They then said the items were now out of stock, but don't worry, they will be here by next week 100 percent, and your suit will be ready too. Constant lies and blagging. Anyway there wasn't much I could do, so I once again had to take them at their word. I was very clear on many occasions when exactly I was heading down to the country for the wedding and will I have the items then as we're only a couple of weeks away! "No problem, don't worry! I guarantee they will be here well before." Those weeks soon passed, and I called every couple of days, even dropped in a couple of times, up to the day I had to leave, same answer, they'll be here tomorrow definitely. More lies and blagging. I went into the shop the day I was leaving for my wedding, obviously very, very anxious after all the stress of not knowing if I'd even have a suit, and to my surprise, they said, the suit was back, and the other items had just arrived that afternoon. I went in to try on my suit to check all was ok. They gave someone else's suit to start with which was completely different and didn't fit, causing me more panic. I said to John, the other member of the shop, this isn't my suit. I had to tell him twice before he believed me. He eventually found my suit and to my shock, it fit apart from the trousers which they had adjusted! I then was handed the lads items that were missing and guess what! Wrong size, wrong brand, wrong material, all wrong again. I was beat at this point and asked what's happening here, and why have you constantly lied and fobbed me off, to which they said, it was a very complex process, and the issue was with the supplier, lies, lies, lies. They called later on that afternoon, knowing full well I'd already left to go down the country to the venue, and told me the items have arrived, there was a mix up earlier! (more lies) Luckily that same afternoon I managed to contact said supplier and purchased the missing items directly from them, costing a further €400+. They all arrived a day later, in time for us to get them to the wedding, and all fitted perfectly. Later, after the wedding, I asked Collar and Cuff if they would compensate for the extra money I had to pay, especially after all the stress they had caused me, the multiple phone calls, pointless visits to the shop and emails and messages, all of which I have kept and recorded. I was sent back €200 which was just insulting considering I didn't get what I paid for. I gave them a few opportunities to make it right before leaving this review, but they couldn't have cared less when
