Looking for different sightseeing alternatives in Warsaw, I ran into the Segway City Tours and…read morethought it would be a good idea to combine a fun activity with history - and the ability to get quickly around the different places of interest.
Contact and booking was easy. We went for the 3 hour city tour - there are other alternatives with shorter tours or the Praga district as well.
During the 3 hours we spent on our Segways we got to see - and hear about both ancient and modern Polish history, the areas around the old and new towns and their surroundings.
Before the tour I was a little worried that the focus would be on the actual Segway part and that the guiding might not be that good, but our tour guide Olga made an excellent job giving us facts, historical anecdotes and an understanding of the Warsaw history, leaving us with a desire to return to the different sights to seek out more.
I would highly recommend their tours - not only because it's fun with Segways, but because it's a flexible way of getting around, faster than walking and closer than on a bus.
On the negative part, there are other parts of Warsaw that you don't get to see compared to a longer tour with a bus (like Wazienki or the downtown area), but we felt quite stuffed with historical facts after 3 hours - and we were really interested in the facts! And many of the interesting parts of Warsaw are along the Segway tour path.
