CSI is doing a fantastic job with all our accounting needs. I like being able to email them with questions about our payroll or taxes and receiving an answer in very short period of time. We used to use ADP and the call wait time was very long, that's way we switched to CSI. read more

Caution is advised. They did not deliver on our agreement and later withdrew funds from my business checking account without authorization -- even after our work together had ended. This was unauthorized and highly concerning. I strongly recommend avoiding doing business with this company. read more

I spoke with Hunter and it was an great experience from the begging. Easy to book a time with him, he was on time, knowledgable and honest. this company is shady. I signed a contract with CDI. After a zoom call. I decided I didn't want to do business with them and wanted my over $10,000 back. They said no. I signed a contract. After two weeks and this bad review. They now decided to pay me only two thirds of it. Saying they did work I didn't want done. Plus sending a letter from law office ordering me to take down post. I got some cash back the very next day after posting. So you want this kind of service? read more

Transferring my payroll needs to CSI was one of the best decisions I have made for my business. If I have a question, I can always get a live person on the phone. History

Established in 1966.

CSI Accounting & Payroll has a long history in the Twin Cities. Founded in 1966 by Al Clausnitzer, the firm started as an E.K. Williams franchise specializing in accounting, bookkeeping, and tax services for automotive service stations. Fifty years later, as of 2016, we are now CSI Accounting & Payroll. Staying true to our roots, we still offer accounting, bookkeeping, tax preparation, and payroll services to service stations across the region. At the same time, we have expanded our reach to include a multitude of small businesses in various industries serving their local communities. Business types we work with now include restaurants, salons, plumbers and almost every other local business you could think of. CSI Accounting & Payroll is a member of both the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants (PASBA) and the Independent Payroll Providers Association (IPPA).

Meet the Business Owner: Brian P.

Brian began working at CSI in 1996 and he purchased the business in 2002. As Owner, his primary role is in the management and growth of the firm. Since 2002, the firm has more than tripled in size. In 2008, Brian started CSI's Payroll Service to complement CSI's Accounting. Brian received his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota with a double major in accounting and financial management. Brian is a member of both the National Society for Tax Professionals and the National Society for Accountants and serves on the board of directors for the Professional Association of Small Business Accountants where he was once president. Brian also serves on the business advisory council for Opportunity Partners - an organization that helps people with disabilities find employment. He's also contributed to several business books including Six Steps to Small Business Success and The Lean Mean Business Machine.

Amazing firm in every sense. We were reluctant to commit to the services as I thought I could do things myself and "save money." Lee, the business development or sales manager helped me realize that I was spending far more in lost opportunities, both business and personal. Now I realize that what we spend with CSI for monthly bookkeeping, accounting, tax work, and payroll is not an simply an expense, but an investment in my business and its success! I am seeing the returns and wish I had reached out sooner. Lee never pressured me, listened, and kept things upbeat and real. His responsiveness and willingness to help surpassed my expectations. I reached out to several other local firms for accounting, bookkeeping, tax, and QuickBooks help and none were as responsive (if they replied at all!) or as sincerely interested in helping us. Adding payroll through CSI with the rest was a no brainer with their package pricing. They beat ADP and PayChex on price, and even if they hadn't, I would have switched to have everything together with a truly local company. I will not hesitate to send them anyone I know.
