The savory crepe with a hint of sweetness is the perfect light before or after dinner snack. The chocolate hazelnut crepe was delicious as well! The stuffing for this one was all on the outside of the crepe versus inside. The portions here are decently sized but I feel like I could've eaten one more and been okay for a full dinner meal. Heads up! No credit cards excepted, we were told cash only. Well worth it to dine in this cute local creperie.

We were not disappointed. The owner of the restaurant runs it, and he is probably the nicest French gentleman you will ever meet. To the point, however, the crepes! The crepes were the finest crepes we had during our entire week in Paris, and while I'm sure there are many more places to try, the owner of Le Petit Grumeau and his crepes impressed us so much we went back a second time at the end of our stay in Paris. Being a celiac, it was important for us to be able to have buckwheat (au blé noir) crepes. The savory crepes are buckwheat by default, and asking politely can reward you with a buckwheat sweet crepe. Gluten-free crepes are the best crepes. P.S. the menu also has English translations for easy ordering if you're from the US or UK or Canada (you know, the Canadians who don't already speak French)

Both the…read morehotel and the restaurant are located in the Latin quarter - known for artist and intellectuals. We found this place to be charming and very tourist friendly. I've never really liked crepe but having the crepes here changed my attitude. The owner was quite the gentleman and we got along well. The second day we came in, the patrons were the type of individuals you would expect in a French movie. Thus, this made for an interesting evening with long stimulating conversations. We came from eclectic backgrounds: two psychologist including my wife, a government worker who just returned from China (he still had his luggage), a World Health Organization specialist with her French teacher husband, and myself a wounded war veteran from the crap we pulled in Iraq and Afghanistan (though I did not offer that bit of information). Good crepes are endemic to France, but the clientele, ownership, and ambiance are all unique. If you happen upon the Latin quater, try stoppin by this quaint shop. It may round off your vacation to France quite nicely.

It's a tiny place with a few tables, but we were seated fairly quickly and served by a young and friendly waiter. Our food was cooked by an equally young chef. Our galettes (savory buckwheat crepes) were traditional, simple, and just very tasty. I ordered the complete (egg, cheese, ham), while my husband had the steak version. Both were hot, buttery, and satisfying. We also both had sugar and butter crepes for dessert, which were also served speedily and gave us the light sweetness we needed to end the meal. A nice and simple place to satisfy crepe/galette cravings in Montparnasse!
