Small family owned restaurant/coffee shop. The Chinese ladies are very friendly and the coffee was great! Also ordered a cheeseburger combo meal for$5.75 she made fresh when I ordered. It was delicious! Tasted better than drive in burgers I think it's the sauce that makes a difference. The fries were crinkle cut. They also have a variety of drinks in the cold fridge case. The can sodas are .90 cents. Didn't get a chance to taste the donut holes they were sold out but, I'll be back! Would recommend this friendly little shop! read more

What a wild spot. From the outside, appearance is everything you'd expect a donut shop or breakfast diner to be. You walk in and are surprised to find out they offer a smorgasbord of lunch options of the likes of burgers & fries and many more. That isn't actually the best word to use per my new found friend Chef Helena Giesea who does "Flavor art" at Old World Winery. Often times we Americans misuse the words Swedes used to describe a bonanza of different courses of foods. Okay so a better word, hodgepodge. (I use the hell out of this word.) Crystal's offers a hodgepodge of favorites, hoping to secure your business for a meal with a side of their wonderful donuts. Locals would tell you to try their teriyaki chicken. Others have told me to try their burgers or tacos. Yes, I said tacos. One might even want to try their chow mien. Previously there were only a handful of locations like this in Santa Rosa. Not owned by the same people though. Places which were known for donuts but also sold other lunch favorites. Today, Crystal's stands on top. Apologies to those that followed Sam's but per their management I'm told the Chinese food is no more and will not return. Before I lose you in the abyss of my lengthy review. The teriyaki chicken meal is composed of some steamed rice covered in steamed, assorted, vegetables and a side of dark meat chicken pieces covered in teriyaki sauce. Additional sauce is lightly strewn over the veggies. This tasty though cost conscious dish is offered for less than six dollars! Is it so special that you should leave your regular lunch place and run over to try it? Not really. After having it the other day I realized how easy it'd be to replicate this dish myself, at home. Though seriously, how many of us would go buy all the ingredients when you know it can be had here for much less. Now about their donuts. They are big, fluffy and tasty. I bought a few for the road and shared it with the buch crew. They only related what I already thought, this is some good stuff and very affordable. I gotta say, I love it when locals give me that look like... "How the heck does this guy from Chicago find this gem in my town." Because of Yelp Yo! Unfortunately for those that work full time gigs, Crystal's is only open till 4 pm. They have a solid following of locals in the know and school children that stop in for donuts and drinks. It's a dive that happens to serve up goodness with a smile. I like that they appreciate the business and try to make some kind of small talk with you. It's nice. I've been in a lot of places like this where you don't get that charm. P.s they serve strong coffee, so a medium is recommended. Feel cheated with anything less. P.s.s When I was there I inquired about Boston creme's which they were out of but they said I could choose another donut and they would fill it with whichever filling they currently had. Crystals has been a staple for my family since I was little. I remember walking here on weekend mornings with my cousins for donuts. And now my little brother loves it just as much. It's a small family owned little shop right next to Whole Foods. Owners are so friendly and if you've been coming as long as we have they know exactly what you want we soon as you walk in. They have lots of stuff but our go to is a sausage breakfast sandwich with eggs and cheese. Delicious and really hits the spot. The perfect , simple breakfast sandwich that our whole family loves. This place has amazing donuts! Went here at 5 o'clock this morning and I'm glad I did. The owners are quirky and made me laugh with their playful banter between themselves and other customers. The blueberry cheesecake fritter was sugared music on my palate. Warm and soft with a slight candied-like crust, I highly recommend trying this pastry. In fact, all of my pastry choices were some of the best donuts in town. Each rounded with a sweet buttery batter, and each spotted with various apple, chocolate and blueberry flavors. I've read other comments about the dated decor, but this isn't a fine dining pastry place. Behind me in line looked like the entire produce department of Whole Foods, coffee mugs in hand, waiting on hot coffee. The two owners handled customers with experienced efficiently. I've been coming here since I was knee high to a pigs eye. The family who runs this business has not changed a thing, the decor and prices have somehow stayed the same, and the prices are cheap! 2 breakfast croissants, side hash browns and two old fashioned donuts will cost you 12$ even, killer deal. Having said that, their food is by no means healthy. This is your standard, greasy satisfying cheap breakfast. They're known for their 10 cent donut holes also. The donuts are great but I'm here to talk about "breakfast". There are a hundred places in this town where one may acquire the first meal of the day, but none like this. Are you oppressed by the plethora of menu choices at iHOP? Do you flounder in confusion over the omelette options at Mac's? Despair no more! At Crystal's you have none of these dizzying choices to make. "Breakfast" is two eggs - any style, two slices of toast - your preference, two slices of bacon and a hash brown. The hash browns taste pretty much like their hamburgers, probably because both frozen patties are fried on the same grill, and the bacon won't be done quite right, but you won't mind in the least because it was served by the happiest little folks you'll ever meet and they charged you less than five bucks for it. This place is in desperate need of a face lift. It isn't dirty but it is extremely cluttered and out dated. The place seems to get a pretty steady flow of people. There is some seating inside but it is very basic. It definitely feels more like a doughnut shop than a restaurant. However, the owner is extremely friendly, the food is fine, and the prices are good. I have had the burger and the teriyaki plate. The burger is a good simple diner burger. The vegetables are fresh and crisp, the meat is moist, and the bun is soft. The fries and onion rings are almost certainly mass produced and frozen. The fries are better than the onion rings. The teriyaki plate was just ok. The sauce is much too sweet. The vegetables again looked (e.g. crinkle cut carrots), tasted, and had the texture of frozen vegetables. The rice was a little on the mushy side. If you are in the area and want some cheap and decent food served by a friendly person than go here. I have not tried the doughnuts but they do look good. read more

I dropped in to this little donut shop/ deli last week to get some treats for my client and I. I ordered a maple donut and was looking in their display for something for my client. I asked the lady behind the counter if they had something lemon flavored and she replied that they do not but can fill a jelly filled type donut with some lemon filling. Sold! This place is alright- the most appealing factor is that it's right across the street from my apartment, so convenience is a huge plus. It's also next to Whole Foods and other stores, so you can go grocery shopping right afterwards! I came here on two occasions: 1) to get donut holes and 2) to get breakfast before a flight. The donut holes were quite delicious, but the breakfast was disappointing. It's unfortunate that they don't mix and match certain things (like instead of hashbrowns, sausage patties). This breakfast was something I could've made at home, and it didn't fill me up. Not cool. I probably won't come here for food itself, but donuts instead. Whenever a craving for donuts come, I'll walk over to this place. If you're a donut fan, I suggest coming in the morning when all the donuts are freshly made. It's not the most crackin' lackin' place, but it's cute in that it's a mom and pop shop trying to survive amongst bigger chains and restaurants. read more

I went in and ordered a cheese burger with bacon, no bun. I got a very flat tasteless probably recent frozen meat patty, that likely came from a factory in New Jersey ( i am not kidding ). The cheese was not melted, and was just a slice of Velveeta or similarly tasteless product. The silverware, well it was not, it was plastic like i was some sort of miscreant who couldn't handle a real knife and fork. I love Crystals Corner. Besides having great donuts and a wide variety they've got pastries, croissants, muffins and breakfast, lunch and you can take it home for dinner too. Owners Sunny n Ian have been there for many years feeding us delicious sweets as well as hamburgers, fish and chips and chicken burgers, hotdogs, bacon eggs and toast or English muffins with hashbrowns. It's a very versatile restaurant and it's very economical and every time I go in they welcome me with my first name and I feel like I'm just in my neighbors kitchen having breakfast or lunch. Their coffee is delicious and their chow mein and wonton soup is also great. They do close at 4 pm so please bear in mind that since they come in so very early in the morning to fry donuts they go home a bit earlier than dinner time. It's a great place to eat. I love the family who owns Crystals Corner, I enjoy the company of the customers who come in and I really enjoy the food. I give Crystals Corner 5 stars ! This place is a throwback, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's the sort of friendly neighborhood hangout get-together type of place that while growing up I used to see a lot more of. People of all ages and lifestyles come here to meet up with each other over a great cup of coffee and a good meal. One of the factors for the great ambience is the presence of the owners, Eng and Sunny. They are the nicest people you could want to meet and make their customers feel like family. Now for the food. I fully agree with other reviews that their donuts are the best in town. They're baked every morning and are always fresh. My favorites are the apple fritters, very flavorful and baked with just the right amount of crispiness. Then the breakfast cannot be beat for the price. Eggs any style, bacon, hash brown and toast for only a few dollars, and very good at that. While I usually come here for breakfast I can also recommend their burgers, and a personal favorite, a barbecue beef sandwich that I have a hard time finding anywhere else. Sometimes I get these with a side of fries, which are always hot, crispy and delicious. But for me one of the best things about this place is the totally unpretentious atmosphere and the happy, relaxed feeling you get just being here.
