I used to pop in a few times while living here. It offers great fresh looking /tasting food but…read moreshuts around 4 like most places around here.. Luckily we had booked this time , as it was rammed..this place needs to expand as I found it especially suffocating today...all the tables and chairs are crammed together, so their waitresses have to be anorexic to work here...I'm.not kidding.. Sitting down I had a gander at the drinks menu..this was very limited..when I asked for a white wine spritza the waitress looked at me baffled and suggested i could make my own as they don't do them.. The food consisted of burgers, lasagne, wraps, soups, sandwiches and tapas...well I say tapas but there were maybe five different dishes to try from..the salads are really tasty but I've always had a salad here. My companions decided to order the lasagne to be later told it was not available...(why was this information not provided when we first Sat down) so we all opted for a veggie burger.. When it arrived it was pleasant ..but I have had worse I have had better..also the chips were not home made... Snaffling this we chose the lemon and a caramel cheesecake to finish. Here we had to wait for ages for our plates to be cleared because the staff were too busy making out with each other..really professional..and when the waitress finally decided to serve us she placed the fresh drinks down without taking the emptys with her..so our table was left cluttered.. The lemon cheesecake was divine..but this place is very overrated..the menu.is limited, the place is crammed and they stop serving food at 16:00..oh and most of waiters were rubbish..I think I will try Blue Sky again..

BOOK AHEAD TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!…read more Right this place is a bugger to find, and when you do you might think ''What... I came all this way for this?'' Situated near the water is this little welsh pub that serves food 12 -2.15 and reopens for 6.30pm. I have been coming here for years and its NEVER let me down. Inside reminds me of my late nans room, pokey and full of brass-ware .. at the far back of the pub lies a more refined dining area with white table cloths. You can sit either in the pub to soak some local welsh atmosphere or retreat to the back. Arriving at 12 on the dot, already there were a couple of locals having a pint. The barman greeted us warmly and offered to bring our drinks over while we browsed the menu. Here you can choose from the seafood specials board, lunch and their everyday menu. I highly recommend anything that has fish in it as it is all locally sourced... After much oomming and ahhing I settled on the seafood linguine and my companions had the crab fishcakes. When the food arrived I was happy. The amount of seafood in my dish was incredible. Small and large prawns, salmon, smoked haddock, scallops and mussels all swimming in a sea of fresh homemade pasta... the sauce was a flavoursome creamy white broth which was not too dense. Everything just tasted so fresh , even the crab fish cakes served with homemade chips. By the time we were half way through our meal the place was full..again if you want to come here you must book to save disappointment. The prices are really reasonable too, our meal came to about £40 for the three of us including drinks!. Overall the fact you have to book no matter what day, says it all,,

The first restaurant we spotted down the street, after we were given freedom from our tour group,…read morecraving for some British style sandwiches, was Y Pantri. The slices of ham and salad fixing inside the glass case looks very inviting. But the lady behind the counter, was stressing me out, to go have a seat. We're not even sure, if we want to eat here . . . . Does it hurt you too much, to admire what else you have to offer, so we know what to order? Looking at the food in person, gives customers more an idea what they're about to eat, rather than staring at a black & white piece of paper, without photo! Still debating, once again, I continue to browse and droll over the deli glass case, thinking to myself: 'do I want the ham or do I want the turkey, eggs, or is there anything more I'd like with that . . . do we want to eat here, or go elsewhere' and she repeated, I go & have a seat, and I will let them know what I WANT. Like I said, I felt pressured, the reason why the 3 stars! Hubby had the turkey on white bread with lettuce & mayo with a small side of salad. He also ordered a small regular salad which contained: green olives, lettuce, beets, cucumber slices, red onions, kernel corn, coleslaw, shredded carrots, & slices of tomatoes, which to me WAS too much! I had the sliced ham with a side of lettuce & tomatoes. I asked for pickles, but none came. Both sandwiches were very good, and we both helped each other with the side salad, choices of dressing on another table (behind me). The bathroom, was very tight, but it was OK, there's only one.

Walking into this place, it looks a bit wanting, because the decor is older and bland. The…read morerestaurant is located in the back room of a delicatessen. So it was a surprise to discover the food was pretty good. I ordered at the deli, which I'm not sure if this is common practice or not, then took a seat at a table in the backroom along with a fair amount of patrons, many who seemed like locals. Or they were just really friendly, many talking to each other amongst a variety of tables throughout the room. I wanted a light meal and ordered what is considered a traditional Welsh Cheese sandwich on what turned out to be a lightly-buttered roll. It was simple and good, though the bread choice wasn't what I was expecting. Thinking of the higher amount of carbs. Keeping with the theme, I ordered a traditional pot of tea which always comes with a side of cream. One of the people sitting near me had a Chicken Tikka Pastry, which looked like one of those yummy raspberry pastries ... the raspberry compote poking its head out. But it was filled with a Chicken Tikka concoction, and looked and smelled pretty good. The treat here, also a surprise, was the tasty Welsh Cake. I had asked if they had scones, since I was on the hunt for scones and clotted cream. Instead, they recommended this traditional cake, which is more of a flattened scone, and harder, but just as yummy. Like a scone, you can add butter, jam or whipped cream. Most places, I discovered, don't serve clotted cream, but whipped cream. The owners are very friendly and offer a variety of deli-style sandwiches and traditional Welsh (British) dishes.

We only booked a few hours in advance of our reservation but as the owner is Vegan herself they were not fazed in the slightest by our dietary requirements and we were given a number of options for each course when we arrived. Starters: We had the tomato tart and soup. Both were lovely and there was a choice of two Vegan soups which came with bread and dairy free spread. Main Course: We had the Thai vegetable green curry with a dhaal side and the pancake. The curry itself and the side of dhaal were great. Both really flavoursome and tasty. The pancake was fantastic and was served as a burrito with mushrooms, spinach, couscous and other delights inside. I had it with rice but you can have chips or rosemary & lemon potatoes instead. Dessert: Not that we had much room for dessert after the excellent starter and main course! We all had the chocolate cake was absolutely wonderful! Moist with lots of tasty chocolate icing on top. Apparently it's always Vegan too. They gave us the option of either whipped soya cream (which we chose) or sorbet to accompany it. There were also lots of Vegan wines marked clearly on the menu. All in all a super meal in a lovely environment, served by great staff. Highly recommended. We will be going back regularly.

We shared an order of bruschetta, which was the best we've ever had ! My husband had the spaghetti arribiata which was wonderful, with a generous amount of meat, and I had roast chicken. The rosemary potatoes were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, which is just how they should be. Then, the piece de resistance--hot chocolate with pistachio liqueur. SO good. It was hard not to drink it too fast. The waitstaff was very pleasant and gave us just the right amount of service and attention. We've already made another reservation!
