Good to visit if you've got a emo or goth teenager to buy a gift for. Also handy for their piercing facilities if you fancy that sort of thing. It's set over a couple of levels and is quite cool in that its really full of stock, hanging from the ceiling as well as crammed on to the shelves so there's plenty to look at. They have lots of random fun cartoony stuff too - a sort of haven for the kitsch as well as the goth, so there' bound to be at least something that catches your eye in here.

Picton Tattoo do offer a drop in Monday to Saturday but as they are so busy, I'd advise booking - although they will fit you in the same day usually. Once you're all booked in, design finalised and you've prepared yourself for the needle, you're taken upstairs into the studios which are clean and relaxing, but not too clinical that they give you the creeps! Prices start at £30 for tattoos as this is the cost to open a new needle, obviously the bigger the tatt the more expensive, but they are very reasonable. The staff are very pleasant and welcoming, they will also help you design what you want. A great studio!

However, Sally is one of those hairdressers who you go back to time and again after you've strayed to another hairdresser and found they don't do your hair quite as good and charge more. She employs trainees from Herbert's I believe, and runs a tight ship. These girls know what they're doing, as opposed to other hairdressers I've been to where the trainees need advice on what shampoo to use. I'm the worst person when it comes to hair, as I usually go in and say "do whatever you like, just make it look good". The best thing is that you can get a decent cut and blow for around £20, and they are likely to tell you where the good places are to get cost effective hair care products without trying to force feed you the latest designer hair care. Of course, once you've had your hair done, its a short skip around the partition to Cafe Latino, which is run by Sally's husband. So you can get your hair done and a good feed on a budget and feel satisfied that your money's been well spent!

I think their prices are about right, they seem to make it up for the kids (sometimes its £6, sometimes its £8) but all in all - they're not too bad. They're good snippers too - I've sat and watched them do traditional short back and sides, and i've also seen them do trendy styles, with razors etc. Definitely worth 5 stars from me.

I visited Mason Anthony as my girlfriend was going to have her eyebrows waxed which sounds painful, looks painful but apparently is not so. The cost of the waxing was only four pounds which I am reliably informed is great value by salon standards. As well as this there were a variety of other offers advertised such as two spray tans for thirty pounds and teeth whitening priced at ninety nine pounds all of which are great value when compared to other beauty establishments. As well as these great offers the staff were brilliant handling everything they did with the utmost care and attention and having no problem with me mooching around the place whilst my girlfiend was seen to.There was no requirement to book an appointment in advance as customers can walk in and be seen to very quickly and efficiently. So if your a tanorexic type or just someone in need of a quick pick me up then I would definitely suggest a trip to Kensingtons number one beauty salon Mason Anthony.
