Here were the top annoyances: Air Conditioning - Broke completely in the middle of our July trip, the mechanic said it was quite old and missing some screws. It wasn't possible to fix on the road, so we had no AC for 4 days. Sensors - Many of the key sensors were inaccurate. Ex: black tank level, water level. This proved very challenging for first time RVers like us, who didn't have a feel for how often to empty or refill tanks. Door - The screen door was missing a piece of plastic, which created a hole for bugs to come in and the door itself required a VERY hard closure to latch. My kids could rarely do it themselves. Awning - Not functional; directions in troubleshooting book didn't match type of awning on our RV. Generator - Shut off inexplicably a few times. Mattress - VERY old and worn. Electrical panel - Literally kept closed with duct tape and wouldn't stay closed. Easy to accidentally turn things off. Privacy curtain - Held back with duct tape. Easily knocked open.

The Mercedes RV is absolutely beautiful, runs quietly, smooth on the road and gets pretty good fuel mileage. Our trip was 7 days so we got to stop in different towns along the way and take in some beautiful Tennessee scenery. We are a family of 4 which was a little tight when we stayed overnight in the Rv, but the rest of the nights we just stayed in hotels. Having room for the kids, able to feed everyone good food and staying overnight by the lakefront without a tent was amazing. I should add, I was willing to put in two weeks before leaving, but Ryan told me he'd just consider that day my last day....AKA technically FIRED. He also refused to give me my last check. Well, he lost a fight with the labor board AND unenmployment, against me. He had an attorney, and I didn't, and was just a 21 year old kid at the time. These idiots FORGED a 1099 form supposedly filled out by me.....but my name was spelled wrong. How the hell would I spell my own name wrong? Had I thought faster, I would have gotten them for signature forgery. They also lied to the judge about what my job was, and even she knew they were full of it. A few years later, I was trying to get another trucking job (Walmart, eh?), and Ryan, the owner, LIED and said I had never worked there. Well, got the job, buddy. Now, I'm working an even better trucking job, 1500-2000 a WEEK. Much better than the measley, $9 an hour, under the table, with a forged 1099 you were paying me. These guys are CROOKED. All of the negative reviews are not a conspiracy- it's a pattern of horrible customer service and business management. Avoid so you can have a pleasant trip. Edit- we contacted Cruise America Corporate and they were helpful and apologetic after learning of our interaction with the owner of this location. We will not be giving THIS location any more business and warning others to stay clear.

We were a little concerned about actually having an RV to rent when we got there but there was no problem when we picked up. Our trip was good and the checkout process was fine however they could've spent a little bit more time explaining the ends and outs of RVing. Luckily we found lots of information on YouTube about things to expect on our adventure. We ended up returning our RV late on Saturday night as we came home early. We dropped our keys in a lockbox and never heard back from them until we finally got our refund on Tuesday or Wednesday after the return. I would've appreciated after spending nearly $2000 that I would've at least gotten a phone call or an email explaining what they charged me for. We left a $500 deposit and they refunded about 150 of it upon return. I did call on Tuesday to ask if they had received the RV and they said they were in the middle of checking it in nobody phoned me back. We had a number of issues some safety related and I would have thought that they would appreciate getting some feedback which since they didn't return my phone call didn't receive. So I will leave it here. The freezer stopped working during our trip and we lost all our frozen food. There was a check light that went on and I needed to read about how to reset it myself. We tried calling the one 800 number which is supposed to be the rescue number but after 25 minutes on hold nobody picked up. There was also a strange wire that was dangling between the gas and brake pedal and it was quite Dangerous and I would have hoped they could have fix that. All in all a very pleasant trip but quite expensive.

We didn't want to take any time away from our already tight vacation schedule and the van was operational. I appreciated their efforts to address the situation quickly.
