What's great about this place: cool vibe, lots of TV's, you can hear the game, indoor-outdoor, good appetizers. We especially enjoyed the cheese bites (serious YUMMO with incredible chipotle ranch dressing) and the southwestern egg rolls. Were fans of an out-of-market football team so watching a game is a challenge. Crows Nest put one of their numerous TVs on our game. The place was raucous. I am actually sitting at the bar as I post this. Came to watch the Alabama football game because this is listed as an Alabama game bar. The food was mediocre, at best. I ordered wings and a side Salad. I asked for the wings to be well done, they were not. My husband ordered the fish tacos, they were strictly average. The bar was NOT busy after the Tennessee game and it took, an average of 15 minutes each time we needed anything. Crow's nest is a local hole in the wall. I frequent here due to proximity. It's great for a quick bite when you can't figure out where you want to go, it's on the list of "there's always crows nest!". Good food with a "bigger on the inside" building. It has downstairs seating, upstairs seating, and an outdoor patio. I got the blackened chicken wrap, others got a burger and the chicken tender basket. A friend and I went here because it was suggested to me as a dog friendly patio. I didn't ask about the food, I just wanted somewhere low key that I could wear leggings and a hat and not feel under dressed, and that my dogs could hang out! Most of Nashville tries very hard to be "upscale" so I often skip bringing the dogs. Our server was so friendly, fast, and efficient. Very welcoming to the humans and the pups. The catfish is the best we have found in Hillsboro, east Nash, downtown, etc. Crispy, corn meal breading fried to a crunchy and tasty perfection. We have had the sweet potato fries, fries, and tater tots which were all crispy and cooked just right. Each and every time we have been here, we order catfish and it never disappoints. Went here on a Saturday night. Place was not crowded which was concerning at first not knowing what the food was like but they easily sat our group of 10. Waitress was very attentive. I'm trying to be positive but this was actually the worst place I've ever been. Literally I've never felt so hopeless. This place doesn't even past the health inspector. Didn't receive any type of compensation for the poor experience I had videoed below is particles I had in a tower I ordered while watching the basketball game I waited 50 mins to get. I cannot believe I still gave this place my money as well as tipping the guy who gave me and my friends the absolute worst service I've ever had. This is a dirty place that I don't know how is still open. From one person another please don't go to this place. It's a gross place that doesn't care about germs and most importantly about the well being of a person. Literally everything about this place is absolutely awful. With the experience I had and the people who own this place and the people they hire I can't expect my money back however this place was the biggest robbery ever. A girlfriend and I happened on here after our visit to Greenhouse Bar got cut short upon the realization that they no longer serve food (oh no! Those tater tots were great). The bartender at Greenhouse recommended Crow's Nest, just around the corner, so there we went. If you're looking for a fancy, cocktail-touting lounge bar, this is not the place. Instead, Crow's Nest is much more of a local dive with a surprisingly robust beer and wine menu. I ordered a house white and a pulled pork platter (comes with pork on jalapeno bread, coleslaw and french fries) and my friend ordered a black abbey beer and a burger. My meal was tasty--pork was tender and fries were crisp--just the way I like it. The bartender was also very friendly and patient with us as we took forever to peruse the menu. It was pretty quiet for a Wednesday evening, probably due to all the rain Nashville has been seeing lately; however, the low hum of chatter from the locals around me was soothing. Find the game you are most interested in and pull up a seat or a table. There was plenty of room for all. The bar will have everything you could want and they have a large and varied menu. I wanted to give my liver a break this afternoon so i decided to try the lemonade. It was terrible. It was a giant glass of that powdered mix stuff, Whyler's drink mix or Country Time. How hard is it to squeeze out some lemons and sweet syrup into a glass? A real lemonade or limeade is worth the effort. If your business is food/beverage why do you spend $100k on TV equipment but not $3k on a commercial citrus juicer? The fried pickles were odd enough for me to enjoy but the chips n' salsa was phoned in. The chips were cold and the salsa, your basic 7-11 brand. This may be the only place i would pass on the chips and salsa. It was that lousy! Heck, I've eaten nachos for breakfast. Ask, my mom! Not only are there flat screen TVs everywhere you look (including on the spacious and relaxing back deck), but the menu is great and the prices are just right. While you'll find all your favorite bar staples on the menu, the Crow's Nest ups the ante a bit and serves some great specialties that would be at home in some of the city's fancier dining establishments. For a real treat, check out the Fried Green Tomatoes (crispy, delicious and served with an artful touch). The beverage selection is exactly what you would expect at a sports bar, with an emphasis on beers and mixed drinks. And the waitstaff are generally friendly and seem to know the menu pretty well. Perhaps the best measure of a great sports bar waitstaff is their understanding that, on game days, people like to setup shop and order leisurely throughout the night. On a recent trip to the Nest during the NCAA tournament, we occupied our table for more than 4 hours and kept our waiter busy. He was helpful and enthusiastic the entire night, without being overbearing. The sign of a true pro. Parking is limited, but they offer a free valet. The bathrooms are a bit small, but well maintained. And during our visit we noticed a number of groups with kids who all seemed to be enjoying the Golden Tee machine located on the top floor near the ATM. I've heard about the Crow's Nest for years, but somehow never considered it worth a trip. I mean, it's a sports bar. But Sunday I was looking for a Green Hills brunch spot and decided try it out. We got there before noon, so there was no need to use the ubiquitous valet parking service and all the tables were open. Somehow our party of two still got the table next to the kitchen. Service was fast and fairly friendly. My Bloody Mary was mildly spicy and quite refreshing, although free of the "salads" you get with some of them. I had the Crab Cakes Benedict and it was excellent. There was more crab than filler, which is always a plus, and the cakes were crispy and firm. The crab was real and fresh. The smoky cheddar mashed potatoes side dish were very good as well. Companion's egg sandwich was fine, but nowhere near as good as mine. The warm biscuits, offered up before the food came out, were light and good, but neither of us braved the mystery gravy. There was no indication what was in it, meat? Mushrooms? Meh. Overall, I'd recommend this brunch, but it started to fill up as game time approached so go early unless you're going for the sports atmosphere. read more

I frequent Crows Nest tri-weekly on average and have been doing so for the past roundabout three years. The service has only improved (and hasn't ever been bad in my opinion), the drink menu has only grown and the food has only gotten better. This is why I enjoy Crows Nest; they offer way more than your typical bar grub. Sure, you can enjoy nachos, wings, mozzarella sticks and burgers, but you can also find fresh seafood (including oysters on the half shell and fried calamari), great sandwiches and wraps (all of which can be customized to order), darn good pasta dishes and fabulous salads. The salads and seafood and really what I have to rave about because (a) this is a bar and I normally wouldn't expect such food, (b) the prices are very affordable, (c) the servings are abundant and (d) the recipes they follow aren't your normal run-of-the-mill everyday-bar crap. Take the House Salad for instance. You won't find iceberg lettuce, carrots and croutons on this one. You'll enjoy leafy baby greens, dried cranberries, sliced granny smith apples, blue cheese crumbles and pecans. Let this not-so-basic 'house salad' set the bar for the other menu items that don't follow bar tradition. Great food, a two-for-one happy hour from 3-7pm Mon-Fri and friendly bartenders and servers keeps me coming back. Not my favorite bar in Nashville but definitely my favorite bar in Green Hills. read more

I came here for the first time in April during Stanley Cup. The second floor has several tv's surrounding the room and of course Stanley Cup was on every tv. I ordered a bleu cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and a beer. The cheeseburger wasn't bad. They had a good selection of beers. My total came to about $14 with tip. CN had been slipping into a forgettable Mcneighborhood bar and consequently I only went occasionally But I walked in recently and Alton and Dona and a lot of the crew that made me loyal to start with were there and their smiling faces and genuine warmth have already brought me back several times. I can even text Dona and ask tonight's menu and she ll hit me right back BRAVO CN!!!!!
