I visited Cash America Pawn in 2016 to sell a brand new TV wall mounting bracket, along with a 17"…read moreLED monitor that I no longer needed with power and VGA cords on separate occasions. The gentleman behind the desk was very courteous. I was given $10.00 for the wall mount even though a screw was missing. Since it retailed for $19.99, I thought that was a pretty good deal. I was instructed to provide my phone number, show my driver's license, sign my name, and put my right thumb print in the lower corner on the forms provided. I was handed the cash and on my way. Since they were fantastic the first time around, I decided to also sell my monitor that I was not using. Unfortunately, this next experience was a bit unpleasant. The guy behind the counter on my second and final trip looked as though he was a new hire. When I placed the monitor on the desk, he read the label on the back which provided information as to the serial number and year. When he inputted the model into their database, the most he could give me was $5.00. Wait, what?!? Why is it so cheap? Granted, it was six years old at that point and a bit used, but there wasn't a single scratch on it. I would have to say it was like new. It also retailed for $109.99. I know you never get full price, but wow was that steep! I asked to speak to a supervisor. He practically did the same as the employee and stated he wasn't allowed to purchase it for more than what is shown in their system. Stupidly, I went ahead and accepted the money. It probably cost me half of that in gas to get there. Same deal as before with providing my information. I promptly left and never returned. I cannot comment on the loans they provide since I never used them to apply for one. I notice they had a variety of goodies such as jewelry and electronics, but nothing I was looking to buy at the time. I would highly recommend not giving them electronics to pawn or sell. The prices they offer are minuscule. Though, I'm sure they made one heck of a profit off of it.

I don't know why people bother to come to Cash America when they don't even have a certified…read morejeweler or gemologist. One would think you're going to get good value for your jewelry but they're out there to screw you!
