I've had the opportunity to talk to quite a few people that work here, and every one of them has been helpful in finding me something based on what my interests are at the time. I'm at a point in my life where I do enjoy some good bourbon and like trying different ones. I found a couple that I really fancy that they have good pricing on, but I'm always willing to try something else. I have probably bought from every section of the store at some point over the years and they do have quite a wide selection to choose from. The store is very well lit, and there are accessible spaces near the entrance, which is also accessible here. As well as all the alcohol and related products available they also have a really nice humidor here. I'm no longer allowed to have a cigar, but I can't appreciate that. They do have some good ones available. If you're looking for something to entertain or for pretty much any other reason, ABC is always a good place to shop. Just a reference, they have quite a few of the cool bottles that are released by various brands available. If wine is your preference, they have an excellent selection with really good prices.

So they have free slasa and chips in the back corner most nights. On Tuesday the have tacos. And Tuesday there are meatballs. On Friday they have Karaoke around 7. If you like wine, or you are an enthusiast, this would be a great place to visit if you find yourself in Winter Haven Florida. They have buy one glass 2nd half price. If you buy a bottle and stay, it is a $15 corkage fee. We kind of did the math and depending on the pour, and their pours are generous, it is cheaper to buy by the glass. They have a lot of beers, lots of IPAs and domestics. They do carry some fine German beers. Wish they had more. The wine selection is okay. But I am a lover of fine wine that doesn't have to cost $75 + a bottle. There are many outstanding bottles in the $25-$35 price category and sorry to say, but ABC falls short in this area. I did find a find some lovely bottles for $15 most recently the Skyleaf Sauvignon Blanc, a less intense SV from Malborough, NZ. I also enjoyed their Californian 2023 Buck Shack Sauvignon Blanc. You can get some tasty red wine in many varieties for $25 and under. I enjoyed the 2022 The Federalist Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi, CA.

This tiny little place is right on Route 27 northbound and has the wildly imaginative name of Liquor 27! Atmosphere- It really is a tiny little place and is just getting going. The day I was there the carpenters were still building his cooler so no cold beer yet but it's on the way. I perused the several short aisles and walls of booze. Everything was spotless despite the construction. The Product- The shelves were heavy on the hard liquor and light on wine. This was clearly not the place for buying a bottle of grape. There is also a full selection of lottery and the charge card machine was up and running. My spies had told me the prices were great, so I decided on a test that I had pre approved by 7 statisticians! I bought one bottle of Baileys Irish Cream and it cost me $19.99. I immediately went across the street to a big giant FL chain grocery store that everyone knows. Baileys there was $26.99. Whoa, that got my attention! I then went down the street to the enormous, humongous big-box store that is everywhere. There, Baileys was $20.97. So, it's seems clear that based on my awesomely scientific test that his prices are great! This store as well as the Publix's grocery store next door seems to be fairly new to the area so I'm guessing this is why it wasn't listed or reviewed on YELP prior to this one. I was the only customer during my short visit here, the layout is rather simple and it took me no time to find everything I needed, the lone employee was stocking the shelves when I entered and only stopped to check me out. She was very polite and double bagged my liquor and made sure the handles were all aligned to ensure I had no chance of dropping it while walking through the parking lot back to my car. I can't say for sure if the prices are in-line with the ABC stores but at this point it really didn't matter, I wasn't here to restock the liquor cabinet...

This place is a few miles outside of town and truly fell off the edge of the end of the world. The chances of you stopping in as you drive by to give it a try are about zero. It's clearly a local's place. I stopped by around lunchtime and walked into a "kuriky" combination of low-end convenience store, low-end sub shop and dive bar. The store is clearly focused on grabbing a six pack and a bag of snacks and maybe a smoke. Other than that, not so much. The sub menu is a pale imitation of the one posted here three years ago. There are many less choices. I had a roast beef sub with two choices of cheese and very few choices of veges and dressings. It was served on an ice-cold roll. It was the kind of food I call fuel. Filling but that's it! The small dive bar was more divey than most and was very dark. I was the only one there. The saving grace of my visit was the wonderful manager/bartender! This lady was a delightful conversationalist! I munched on my meh sub and washed it down with a bottle of Corona for less than $10. You really need to manage your expectations here. What makes BC so special is not that it is a drive thru convenience store, complete with beer and cigarettes, but that is a drive thru convenience store...in the shape of a castle. While this may not seem like much to most people, this Castle of Convenience is a symbol. A symbol of why I love America. Where else on the planet can you drive into a European fortress and buy your Molson Ice and Newports? Give up? Nowhere. Because there is only one Beverage Castle... and it's located in America.
