Dear all at Anchor Marine,…read more I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to reach out to extend my gratitude for all that you did for me and my family and the high quality of service you delivered. As you are aware my ninety year old mother had been in possession of the boat you restored for many years. Most of my siblings were of the opinion that the best thing to do would be either to sell it for parts or junk it, as it had been years since it had been used. I felt differently and so did my mom. We both thought if there was a chance to repair the boat and take it out again, it was absolutely worth a shot. Our first experiences looking for help with repairs was disastrous. One individual recommended by a a reliable boat store once under contract took the boat and various parts and disappeared, We had to get law enforcement involved. For over a year we struggled with this getting the boat back into shape was becoming a more and more distant hope. Enter: Anchor Marine. When we first took the boat into Anchor Marine, we were met by the owner Vic Cossette and his incredible team. The boat was identified and respected as not just some old junky tub. It's a Glastron CVX 16 with a 115 motor my 90 year old mother put in it. This boat is the boat that made several appearances in none other than James Bond's Live and Let Die! Vic and his crew went above and beyond. They were determined to bring the boat back to its original condition and the passion that these individuals have for their vocation was evident from the start. Often I would get a call detailing their search as for a part that they felt was essential to its restoration. They went the extra mile simply due to their passing for their work. The boat went from being covered in tree sap and a home to mice during the winter to an unbelievably beautiful restored Glastron. I believe it now looks even better than when it was originally purchased by my mother all those years ago. The boat cannot be taken out without being stopped by admirers wherever we go! It is next to impossible to find this quality of service. Vic and his team treated us with the utmost respect, made time to communicate clearly with us their plans and what they hoped and realistically believed could be achieved. They treated the boat as if it were their own. It is impossible to understate the quality of their work . If I could leave 100 stars I would. This was one of my mother's dreams realized. At 90 years old she's back on the water in her boat.

I have used Mobile Marine for over 15 years. In that time, I have never missed a day on the water…read morebecause my boat has been well maintained. They send out paper and email copies of the entire drop off and pick up process. And they are extremely responsive to emails and phone calls and text messages. I text the owner, Chris, frequently and not always about boats. Chris was also very helpful to me in the whole process of buying a new boat. What some customers do not understand is that when it warms up in the spring, everyone wants their boat TODAY. Obviously that does not work. And in the fall, everyone wants to get the most days on the water and wait until it gets cold. That doesn't work either. This is why any good shop has a process and procedure for picking up and dropping off boats. It's not complicated to follow, but a lot of boat owners think the world revolves around them. It's too bad to see negative reviews from 3 jerks. Chris and his wife are small business owners who work hard. The negative reviews should be ignored.

I would NOT recommend this business to anyone! Their office doors are locked during normal business…read morehours even though the mechanics are working in the shop. They do not answer phone calls and will not call you back -- I literally could not talk to anyone even when my boat was in their shop being repaired. Even when you ask them to, they will not call you to tell you your boat is ready to pick up, even on a Friday afternoon -- they will only send you an e-mail. They tried to charge my credit card for the full amount of the repair a few days before the repair was completed - without even telling me the parts had come in. I had a few questions about the repair, but they routinely ignored half of the questions in my e-mail -- and this is the only way they will communicate with you. My part was on back-order in Fall and they would not go out of their way to try to find the part somewhere other than at the Mercury factory. I waited from Fall until July before they got my part in, only after pleading with them to call their Mercury rep. Turns out there was a part sitting on another dealer's shelf 60 miles away the whole time. Then I asked what their warranty is. They quoted the Mercury parts warranty. I had to ask 3 times before they would give me a timeline for their labor warranty. This is how they treat a customer who spent $8000 with them on two different major repairs over the last couple years. If they don't want to provide any customer service or talk to customers they should close their business. This site makes you give at least one star, otherwise I would have given zero stars. Do not use Mobile Marine Services, owned by Chris and Vicki Rahn, in Independence MN.
