Reasonable pub with 6 B&B rooms, near the Manor Gardens in Burnham. It's owned by the Youngs pub…read morechain: the interior has a modern wood interior, with a large bar area, a raised dining area and a cosy lounge with comfy chairs. On our visit, we went for an evening meal. We could've eaten in the bar, but decided to eat in the dining area where there is table service. The staff were very friendly and bought menus and drinks quickly: it has a full bar with a number of real ales on tap. The menu is classic pub grub, and we chose the burgers (one "Dunstan" beef burger and one Plant burger). Both came with beer onions, cheese, iceberg, pickles, ketchup, mayo in the bap, and fries. They were decent enough, although the chips were a bit dry, and we thought it could have done with a side salad or coleslaw. As I said, service was very pleasant and efficient and gets 4/5, the food 3/5. Overall cost was £35, which for a burger, chips and one drink each, is a bit on the pricey side for a pub in Burnham. Hence an overall score of 3/5. It has a small car park and large outdoor beer garden.

The best food pub in Burnham, hands down…read more New management a year or two back has breathed new life into this old business. The decor is contemporary yet retains that warm local pub feeling. There is a bar area, food eating on multiple levels and a newer extension area with later tables for big groups. The food is top notch and superb value for money. Gourmet burgers are on offer, all named after old school film actors, as are homemade pies alongside a wide selection of pub favourites. The bar is fully stocked and as with other Young's chain pubs the house ales are all superb. Don't let the slightly drab exterior or the previous management era reviews put you off, this place is well worth a visit.

We were told there was a slight delay but 45 minutes later and still no desserts or tea. The desserts finally arrived after a further 10 minutes although they had obviously been waiting somewhere for a while as the ice cream was melted and resembled 'mush', still no cup of tea. After enquiring twice more and being told it was going to be another 2 minutes, it had still not arrived, although there had been a cup of tea waiting at the bar, but not brought out to anyone, which meant it was cold and strong! They did not have any milk either. The manager was reluctant to help and we were extremely disappointed with the service, especially after enjoying the carvery so much. Would not recommend this place as the service was poor and the manager unhlepful

This was on a Saturday evening. We then looked at the menus and gave our choices to the girl waiting the tables. We were waiting some degree of time before the girl decided to come out again and declare that they had run out of Steaks. This being a Saturday evening is unacceptable as they should have stocked up on plenty in advance seeing as steaks are one of the most popular choices. So my mother and father choose some more food, only to be later told that that too had run out. We were running out of choices. We then decided to leave the premises promptly as we were disgusted at the service and lack of food available. We couldn't see a more mature employee or the manager in sight and all the females working there barely looked 18 and appeared pretty dumbfounded. We luckily managed to get a table at The West Huntspill Arms further up the road who gave excellent service and fortunately my mothers birthday surprise was not ruined completely but I would never recommend "The Orchard Inn" to anyone as there was zero professionalism!
