Church. A word that can conjure up a number of emotions for most people. I have pretty much been a…read moremember of this church my whole life and I have seen the ups and downs of this church. For the last five+ years, it has been nothing but up and the congregation has grown into a rather large and healthy one. The transition from the previous building along with the influx of Contemporary Christian music and whatnot has left some people by the wayside, but as many have said, "You can't please everybody...." So, the church is now in a large modern building that is in a somewhat rural business district off the highway. This makes it easy to access and get on to any Sunday errands post service. The parking is ample although I recommend arriving early just to beat the massive influx of people at the same time. As my picture shows, if you have a motorcycle, there are special spots for your 'bike. There is also a carport where you can drop off anyone during inclement weather or those unable to walk from the parking lot. Entering in on a typical Sunday, one will most likely be greeted by a few friendly faces. The last time I was there, a few Girl and Boy Scouts were greeters. Bathrooms are clean and right inside the front door. Coat racks are outside the sanctuary/multipurpose room and have plenty of room. If you walk straight ahead there is a coffee/snack area with tables and large windows that lookout to the large green field. I recommend grabbing a program so that you can familiarize yourself with any activities or information about the church. I do like that they are transparent enough to post last weeks offering and other financial information. If you are interested in helping or serving, there are plenty of opportunities, from children to senior saints, opportunities exist. In the past, I've done everything from ushering to working in the nursery. Oh, that reminds me, unlike some churches, there is daycare and it is not typical for really young children to be in the main worship area. If you've ever been in a service and had that one child scream the whole time, you'll appreciate the childcare options. I am not totally sure, but I think they give parents a pager to ping you in case they need to contact you during the service. Great idea and will give any worrisome parents some peace of mind. The worship center/multipurpose room (check out the bball hoops :) ) is a large area that I think will be replaced by a dedicated worship center at a later date. For now, the large stage and 1,000+ seats are a perfectly suitable worship space. I am a sit-in-the-back row kinda guy and usually find a spot right before the service starts. People are friendly for the most part and if you are nervous or just a little edgy, look for my favorite person there, Rosa. Ask anyone and they will quickly point her out. She's the grandma everyone wishes they had. There are two large projection screens that display everything from song words to sermon points, so there really isn't a bad seat in the place. The chairs are cushioned so sitting is actually comfortable. I've sat in way too many hard pews to not mention this. In closing, I've been to many many churches and haven't always been a regular at WCCC, and while I don't always agree with things preached, I do think that the majority of the leadership have their priorities straight and if you venture inside, you just might find a church where you or your family can learn, participate, and support.

Everyone is really nice here, been going for a year and half, judge free zone, how it should be.read more
