I really do like shopping here, but just a few quick points to help orient unfamiliar customers to the store-- a) They only buy certain "trendy" clothes, which makes selling to them a bit difficult, since they can be picky during certain times of the year. However, once you sell to them a few times, you get a sense of what they're looking for and it becomes easier. Brand new handbags, wallets are easy to sell to them. b) You get back 35% of the retail price, in cash-- or 50% in store credit. c) The clothes are organized by COLOR. There is no sizing, so its a PAIN sometimes. The store is very clean, brightly lit, and has fun music to listen to while you shop. There are also plenty of fitting rooms. The employees are generally very nice. While selling though, the wait can become very long so prepare yourself before you go in! I had a thirty minute wait, but the nice lady allowed me to leave the store and get a coffee in the meantime. They also stock plenty of designer clothing and accessories. I got one of my favorite Coach handbags from here for only $20! What a deal. Overall, a great thrift shop that offers fantastic bargains for starving college students like me. :) read more

When it comes to recycled clothing stores, Crossroads is where it's at! Prices are great, clothing selection is awesome, and I could honestly spend hours in here, lol. The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and they have a great selection. I must say though that the Capitol Hill location is much better and larger, and selling quite often, I've never had them buy anything at this location, but always get them to buy stuff at their other location...weird, lol. Pretty bad for selling. They offered me $7.50 for leather ankle booties and $3.75 for a flannel. The girl made it seem like I was getting $22.50 when I asked her how much the shoes would go for. I don't know why she told me the selling price in store when I was asking how much I would get. Doesn't really make sense why I would ask how much the store selling price would be if I am selling to them. Maybe shopping here as a buyer is better than as a seller, but Plato's closet has offered me and bought way more from me than here. Pass. read more

Selling here was incredibly easy and all my clothes sold fast! I did a consignment deal with them that went really well, my clothes sold within 2 weeks and I was paid right away. Love this place! Conveniently located (for me, at least) just a couple of blocks from my house. I have found some amazing deals here, and the atmosphere/selection of this place is my favorite among second hand clothing stores. I like that their clothes are trendy, but not so overly trendy that I can't pull off the style (like Buffalo Exchange just down the street). I once bought an amazing black lace dress here for only $9, and I've worn it too many times to count. As a buyer: this place rocks! They have a ton of higher end brands such as Kate spade, all saints, Phillip lim and helmut lang on a rolling basis at great prices. A significant amount of my wardrobe is from crossroads. As a seller: don't expect to get a lot for your used clothing, regardless of how expensive it/they were when you bought it/them. Living wage charge? Are you kidding? I am happy to pay higher prices. Lord knows you don't charge that much for stuff (and pay way less), but adding a "living wage charge" on your receipts? Your worker are working retail and It's a hard job, but it's not like adding a tip on for a service industry. I saw no signage and to be brutally honest, no one spoke to me while I was in your store. I don't sell to your company, because you honestly don't buy at a good enough rate, but a charge for someone to spend 17 seconds to ring me up and hand me back cash? Maybe raise your prices a bit? We are still paying the same amount, but this way feels a bit underhanded. Maybe just pay your owners and BOD a bit less and pay folks a bit more? Hmmmm.... EDIT -- at the Broadway store it's not even listed as a living wage charge, but is stuck in there as a second tax (which doesn't even seem legal). I don't mind paying more, but I want to know what that is not stuck as some sneaky thing on my receipt. Your response is lame at best. read more

This is the first time I've sold clothes here and it will be my last. I brought in 2 bags of barely worn, some new, clothes and got zero credit. Naively, I decided to donate what wasn't chosen, trusting that this was a viable business. When I went in to get credit or cash I was told they were looking for designer labels like Nordstrom, etc. There were many clothes in the bags that were in fact purchased from Nordstrom, some very expensive boots that were never worn outside, etc. They basically took my clothes and gave nothing back. I'd have felt great giving to the clothes to a women's shelter which is what I'll do from now on. I wonder who ended up with this several hundred dollars worth of clothes? Major waste of time and rip off-- no wonder one has to sign so many disclaimers... read more

This place has cute second hand clothing especially if you're a size 2 and the prices are reasonable. Most things are around the $16-$20 range. It's as if someone personally pried my brain and made a store of my style but I will never be back. I walked in not wearing a mask but getting one from my purse and immediately I was told to wear one. Mind you the mask guidelines have been lifted statewide. And then because my mask was not CDC adherent the employee very rudely told me I couldn't shop there if I didn't put on a different mask. They followed me around the store and made me feel like some sort of criminal and jumped down my throat when I came out of the dressing room to switch items and was not wearing my mask. They even told me I had to wear my mask in the fitting room or else I would be asked to leave. I overheard the employees talking about me and laughing and one even said she wasn't afraid of me and called me a b&$@. They made me feel so uncomfortable and unwanted I will never shop there again and I will make sure to tell everyone I know that the store sucks for customer service. One of the worst I've ever been too. Avoid this place if you have any common sense. There's multiple other good thrift stores in the area that don't employ the witches of eastwick. read more

I brought in about 20 pieces of clothing, all bought within a year or so. After looking through my clothes, they accepted all of them and said they were worth about $60, however, they only offered $21 in cash. When I decided that it was too low, I told them I wouldn't sell, but the two girls gave me attitude, saying they already put the sensors on them. Why would you put the sensors on before the seller accepts the price?! Also, $21 means only about $1 per article of clothing. Such a rip-off, considering most of my clothes were from UO and Free People. I could tell that they knew it was my first time there, but $21 for 20 pieces of clothing is so obviously a rip-off. read more

I'm a thrifter and love me some resale clothing. Crossroads is not an ideal spot. I browsed the entire store with no luck. They do not have a good selection of tops (or much of anything for that matter) and the ones they do have include wife beaters/ camis that are no less than $13.50. I saw multiple brands like Shein (fast fashion) that were priced for OVER the original retail value. What?! I was ignored by two employees when waiting to try on a top and a pair of pants. Neither was worth waiting to get into a fitting room for since they were priced too high anyway... pants had been altered and the other was just a well worn tee that I couldn't imagine spending $18 on. The fads of much of the clothing have been long gone by now.. I wonder if they have sales to help with rotation but highly doubt it. My recommendation? Stick to the u district goodwill... I've found many hidden treasures there. read more

I have bought and sold here and I quite like it. Selling experience: They don't take a lot. Once they only took one item and the second time, they took two but I got a decent price for it both times. I've gotten about $3-5 (cash; more if I took credit) for each item I've sold, which is more than I expect. Brands of mine they've accepted are Free People, Forever 21 and Bebe. The second time I came in, the wait was very long but the buyer was nice and gave me a 10% off coupon. It wasn't much, he said, but he still wanted to do what he could and I appreciated how genuine he seemed about it. Buying experience: The first time, I left empty handed but the second time I came in here to sell, I found many items I liked from brands including Zara, Free People, Kate Spade, Rebecca Minkoff and Lily Pulitzer. True, there aren't a lot of "vintage" clothes, but if you like mainstream brands like me, this is a great spot for it. I ended up combining my credits from my two sells and got a great top from Free People. I'm happy with my experiences here and will continue to buy and sell at the U-District Crossroads! read more

Great consignment store in the University District and on the ave. They only give you 33% cash or 50% credit, but you can find some great pieces here. They have many of the latest fashions available. Depending on your buyer, they might not except something one week and might do so the following. They are always purchasing items and every buyer is different. They even consign some items as well! read more

I have been shopping here for a while now and it is by far one of my favorite consignment stores in the Seattle area. I'm glad they have so many different brands adequate for many different people! I can't talk enough about their great customer service as well. All of the employees are friendly and help out customers if needed. On one occasion there was a customer that came in when I was there and made a scene but the worker, Sam, was very professional and kept working. This was a tough place for me to shop. The men's section felt way too cramped in a corner. The overall selection was next to nothing according to what I've become accustomed to from these joints. Luckily, on my sophomore trip I was buying instead of selling anything. Walked right into a pair of decently kept up Clark Desert boots in a dark tan flavor. Note to self: come here after 8 PM when street parking is free :) What I liked is that the store was well lit and organized. The styles were modern and there is a large selection of small sizes. This is one of my favorite places to shop for clothes! I've gotten so many cute tops and dresses from here, and I always get compliments [people are always shocked my clothes are second hand]. I find many items with tags still attached, so it's amusing seeing how much someone spent on an item they never wore. I'm not a fan of the color organization, but I still manage to find a lot of items that fit. I've never tried selling here, but I hope they're nicer than Buffalo. My only complaint is that the dressing rooms all seem to have boogers wiped all over the walls! I was so grossed out that I changed rooms, and that room had some and so did the next. Ugh. Wow....the place looks great and all at first but when you actually go to look the clothes, EEEK! It's organized by color, which is great, but not at all by size!!! Why can't you do both? You would have to dig through a bunch of old garbage to find something that fits you and is in style. The majority of the clothes are just Forever 21, Old Navy/Gap, and A &F. There was a designer section for jeans so I was a bit excited, but there was a very limited selection and they were just...ugly. I don't know who is choosing all the clothes here, but this place needs a update on current fashion trends! I found very little name brand clothes and thought the store looked nice, but the clothes were not worth the money. Go to GoodWill or Buffalo for a better selection and more competitive prices!!! read more

I've been going to the Capitol Hill crossroads for a couple of years and finally came here. It's really tiny and crampy. Smaller selection. But same fun clothing to choose from if you are in the perusing mood. I didn't find anything...well, I did, but talked myself out of getting a pair of bright pink cord shorts that I really didn't need... sadly. I only came here because we were in the area (for the street fair). I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come to this shop since I'm always near CapHill. This store is so organized as it gets - color coordinated and size coordinated. I seriously love this store to death! Working at a big retail store, I die and come back to life each time I spy a $15 7 for All Mankind jeans or $25 Citizens of Humanity jeans (compared to $100-$200 retail...um yes. GIMME ALL). The clothes are in super great condition (sometimes even new with original tags on them) and the good news is, you'll get store credit back if you do a return (now you'll have $ back into your pocket to shop with them again and be a long life customer like me!) read more

Crossroads has some cute items, but in all the times I've gone there, I've never found anything I loved. It's tough when the goodwill up the street sells similar items for less, but you can find unique pieces at crossroads. They have a clearance section near the back of the store, but it's always a bit picked over. The store itself is relatively small, but items are grouped by type. read more

I really wish I had made more money coming here but I realize that I brought nothing but crap. The reason why I am so happy with this location is due to their service. The girls are SO nice. They were friendly, chatty and didn't have that fashion hipster thing going on. I was able to take all my crap and drop it down the street at the Goodwill. I went to other Crossroads stores and they were snotty and told me there was a 2 day wait or some crazy shit. This place is a treasure trove for name brand and designer items. I have found so many items that my co-workers and friends could not believe I bought at a fraction of the price. I purchased Cole Haan boots, BCBG dresses, Jessica Simpson coats, Aldo heels, and on and on and on. I have a pretty set practice of examining second hand items before purchasing (checking seams, heels, buttons, etc) and the buyers here have a great eye so the quality, even for used items, is still pretty great. I love the 1/2 off sale rack as well as the dress selection. The wall showcases many of the high-end goods so you'll want to check that out for Marc Jacobs bags and Trina Turk dresses. Also, they have a great Instagram feed and Facebook page that updates what's in store. I love checking those out first before walking in. If you love looking posh on a budget, this is a great stop. read more

Staff is hit-or-miss; bitchy aloof or very nice and friendly. Decent selection of "designer" clothing, some of which I feel like is taken for the label even when it's a little too worn. I recently bought a silk Ellen Tracy blouse, a cropped short sleeve cashmere-blend Marni sweater and a Dooney and Bourke satchel bag, admittedly with some wear and tear - each item being about $20. Also at the Broadway location I picked up a DVF silk floral blouse for $12 from 2009 in perfect condition - um, wow! Lots of Free People stuff, plenty of J. Crew and Anthropologie, etc. Overall I like shopping here a lot, but be prepared to wade through a bunch of mediocre stuff before finding the gems that'll make you come back. read more

Great selection of clothes. I wish they had stores like this where I'm from. Stumbled upon it after eating in the area. The prices I found comparable to other buy/sell/trade clothing stores I've been to. Seven jeans for $15...yes, please! My boyfriend (who does not fancy thrift stores like I do & will spend the ridiculous amount of money @ nordstroms for a pair of Hudson jeans) even found some items. The male associate who went through my clothes to sell wasn't knowledgeable about any of the high-end clothing I brought in and passed on all of it because"he didn't recognize the brands." Overall I would describe my experience as interesting. All the customer service reps were very nice and cordial. However when it came to selling clothes, I became a bit skeptical. They go through your items and don't tell you which ones they're buying. For example, I sold 430 dollar Persol sunglasses and have no idea what I got for them. They don't offer you a receipt nor do they offer you back the clothes they choose not to buy. The whole process just seemed a bit sketchy. Overall, I walked out with 100 dollars from about 50+ items of clothing. Mixed reviews, but if you're in need of some quick cash it's an okay place, just be prepared to walk out not knowing the whole story. read more
