Nice people. Just know you may wait a while for your appointment. They have free coffee though!read more

First of all I really dislike giving bad reviews and take having to give them very seriously…read more Initially, last year, when I first stared going in for help with my foot, I had nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr Joe, his treatment, his kindness, and the lovely and very competent staff they have working there. I had great experiences working long- term with them all, as well as with the physical therapy across the hall. I would have given them a rave-review. However, today's experience with Dr, Nicolas was so horrible it made me shake with anger and disbelief. Heres what happened: - I took another X-ray - Nurse took my info and took notes. This is usual. She was great. - Dr Nicolas came in and began with not with telling me what the X-ray showed but asked what's going on. I showed him quickly where the pain is and that I was concerned with my Achilles because of new recent swelling. - His rudeness began. He told me there is basically nothing they can do in their office and that his recommendation was a nerve specialist. I asked questions. His condescending words, responses and manner began. - He treated each question with a condescending statement or reply as if I was really irritating him and wasting his time. I was in disbelief that I was actually being treated that way. ... like I was stupid for asking any questions... like ' the nerve of me for not understanding what he was saying or why' or wondering if the doctor could give me advice for this new excruciating pain I'm having. I don't know why he treated me this way. Because I'm a woman? Because I'm Hispanic? Was he a boy-genius with a personality disorder and he can't help himself?? The waiting room was filled with elderly patients who probably have insurance and maybe they are spoken to like they are idiots all the time, but I am not and it felt terrible to be in that position... treated like one more insurance pay-check. I paid out of pocket for my visit and X-ray. Each visit is a small sacrifice for my family. At least speak to your patients with dignity, respect and freaking kindness! What the hell?!?! Start out with ' hi, I'm Dr so and so... let's talk about your damn X-ray that you just shelled out cash for!' If I was there with my momma or pops and they were spoken to this way, as if they are stupid, I would have 'lost' my SH-T right then and there. As it was, I had to get myself out of there as quickly as possibly to fight back the disbelief that brought about the shaking and tears. I have a pretty stiff upper-lip so this is highly unusual for me. I'm a people-person. I have a lot of grace for humanity at its worst. Dr Nicolas' 'wisdom' and referral might be spot-on, but a little bit of good old- fashioned kindness and nice bed-side manner might do him a lot of good. Anyhow, I hate to say this, but if you have go here for whatever reason, request any other Dr besides Nicolas.
