Very friendly church that preaches the Bible. Casual dress and easy to join in the services. Highly recommend.

I am a sucker for architecture - must be the artist in me. A most unusual looking church for me -…read moreand it seemed to have a modern theme to it, a bit of a twist, for example, the name of the church and the sign in a modern Metal design. I looked at their website and they seem to be trying to keep up with the times, which is probably a good idea during these times for religions. Here is their website for you to check them out yourself. https://www.occmiami.org/ I am more spiritual than religious, although I respect all beliefs n religions, n feel that the way you treat others n live your life is a personal choice. However I could not help appreciating their message that they have on line, and it resonated a little with me. What do you think? See below. Some hear the word "church" and think of beautiful cathedrals, cozy chapels or even hard wooden pews.  Churches can exist without stained-glass windows, pews, and steeples, but they cannot exist without people.  At One City Church when we think of the word "church," we think foremost about people - people just like you.  No wonder the Bible says Jesus loved the church and even gave his life for her.  Jesus loves people!  Two things will last forever; God's Word and people.  When you make an investment in people you are making an investment in eternity.  At OCC we believe in people.  We desire to grow people - not buildings or denominational programs.  Our greatest asset and our greatest investment is people. A wise man once observed, "Many churches have made Christianity a barrier instead of a bridge for people."  We passionately agree.  At One City Church we want to remove the artificial barriers (cultural & religious traditions) that keep people from coming to Jesus Christ and reaching their full potential as His disciples.  Because of this value, we don't have a dress code.  People can come as they are.  Jeans are okay!  Next, we allow and encourage the "unconvinced" to consider the claims of Jesus at their own pace.  We don't use high pressure tactics or put people on the spot.  We do, however, incorporate into our worship contemporary music, engaging drama and multimedia presentations, and easy-to-follow teaching from the Bible that is relevant to today. They also quote "We are a multicultural and family community, we persevere in unity while enjoying diversity. Our culture is love!" and also this " One City Church exists to offer a place where people have the opportunity to know God, to worship and to be part of the family of faith. The church of God is not about a building or an organization, the church of God is made up of people who have put their faith in Jesus. All by our nature we are imperfect, we have faults and we make mistakes that make us completely dependent on the grace of a God who is Perfect and Holy. We are people who have found unconditional, transforming love in God and who are growing daily to live according to his will. We understand that life is a journey that is full of surprises, ups and downs, good and not so good experiences. We have all experienced joys, triumphs, disappointments, and pain. Here at OCC you don't need to hide your condition or pretend perfection. We welcome everyone without exception. Here you can be yourself. We appreciate honesty, transparency, and authenticity. Only then can we be more effective and you can experience what the church really is. Here we grow together, we learn, we pray for each other, we serve each other, we help each other and we lift ourselves up, we give each other strength and motivate ourselves to move forward governed by the golden rule that is love. The church is not about a building or an organization, the church is each one of the people who have put their faith in Jesus. At One City Church we persevere in unity while celebrating diversity. OCC is a multicultural church. OCC is a place where everyone is welcome. At OCC you can experience God's presence through worship, teaching the word, fellowship, and friendship. It is a place where we can all grow and develop. OCC is a place where family is important, valued, and cared for. OCC is a place where you can get restoration, healing and guidance. At OCC you can receive understanding, compassion and support. You will be able to make friends and establish healthy relationships. Here is a place for you. We invite you to join the family of faith. I came across Wayside in an internet search and we joined an 11oclock worship service about 6 months ago. After our first Sunday service, we stopped our search and immediately felt this was the place God lead us to be in our time in Miami. Wayside is a fairly large church with a two-story mezzanine and a congregation of all ages. On our first visit, pastor David, and his wife, Kelly personally greeted us as they recognized new faces and made it a point to welcome us. They were eager to introduce us to the leaders of a Sunday-school group for young adults, which has cultivated relationships we intend to always keep. The messages we receive each week are biblical, relatable, and full of Godly wisdom in which we have been able to apply to our lives in the past few months. We feel that God is working in a multitude of ways through Wayside and are blessed to be a part of it. We would suggest and invite anyone to visit Wayside and see the great things that are happening here.

This was a kids' holiday event, with Christmas music, families, and high school student volunteers who are minors, helping for just one hour. The pastor arrived and threatened and intimidated our minor volunteers, which was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. He was disrespectful to all our volunteers and demanded that everyone move their cars from an empty parking area, creating confusion and stress during what should have been a joyful event. Because of his actions, some children were unable to attend since there was suddenly no parking available. This caused sadness and disappointment for families and kids during a Christmas toy drive meant to bring joy. It is very unfortunate and disturbing behavior from someone who calls himself a "pastor." This experience left a very negative impact on our volunteers, our event, and our community.
