Cross Confections has a reputation for custom cakes and cupcakes, but so far I have had the opportunity to try her treats from one of her pop ups at a vendor market. You can follow her on social media to find her at events all around the state. She's incredibly sweet and professional, and puts a lot of effort into ensuring the quality and freshness of her goods even when doing a pop up. I have tried 2 different cupcakes and a Milky Way cookie. Most of her cupcakes are vegan, which is very cool as well. The chocolate cherry cupcake was extremely moist. Good chocolate flavor, not super dark. It was filled with a cherry jam and topped with chocolate buttercream. Not a super sweet cupcake overall. The flavors balanced perfectly. Although this was a more standard/familiar flavor, it was a great version. I enjoyed it very much. I was, however, more impressed by the Golden Birthday cupcake (which I did not expect at all). It was a funfetti cupcake with vanilla buttercream, rolled in golden cookie crumbs and rainbow sprinkles. The fact that this one also wasn't overly sweet blew me away. Again, extremely moist cake. Both cupcakes had a great frosting to cake ratio which is crucial. Really well done cupcakes. The Milky Way cookie was excellent. It was incredibly soft but still held together. It had plenty of chunks of Milky Way throughout. Everything also looked gorgeous, and she even puts clear and careful thought into her packaging. All around Cross Confections' skill comes across with how she executes everything. I also love how she decorates her table and everything is clearly labeled and well described. Huge fan of Cross Confections. Definitely look out for one of her pop ups, or for any custom cake needs! read more
