These guys are a mussel restaurant from Belgium. They serve a little steak and few other items but…read morethey focus on mussels and beer. And the mussels were good. We got 4 different varieties and they were all distinct and interesting.
But the kids didn't want seafood. The kids wanted burgers, one with a bun and one without. They arrive and we cut into the "medium rare" patty. It bleeds. OK, our fault. This is a nation that eats beef tartar. Rare, to the French, is just this side of raw and well done still has some pink in the middle. On to the other kiddo. Her burger has a bun made of two Belgian waffles. The bottom one has been squirted with ketchup and is now so soggy that it falls apart in her hand. She has a bite and declares it disgusting so I try. Yep, just as revolting as it sounds. Rare burger with a little ketchup surrounded by sweet, soggy waffle.

Put ketchup on a waffle and you ought to be slapped.
Uh, maybe,
The Belgians have lost their minds.
No, no, no. It was
Eat the mussels.
Drink the beer.
Nothing else.
