Sticker Shock! 350 plus tip for a little trim of my extremely fine thin hair and a full balayage. Yikes. There was no aroma therapy offered no scalp massage no hot towel. There is only so much I can do with my hair and I acknowledge that but this was a little steep for the lack of extras. and the end result. I also just did not feel very comfortable there. They consider themselves a "green" salon so the products they use are a bit different than you may see at some regular salons. read more

Nice to see the salon respond back, but i have to disagree that it needs multiple visits for a normal balayage. I have been doing this for years and no salon ever said they needed multiple visit for this. Even if you say you are 100% sure this needs multiple visit, here is my question - why didn't you let your customer know about it upfront before working on their hair? Like I mentioned I had to make a second visit to the salon just for the toner application, and even then the second application didn't have any impact in changing the hair color from what it was earlier. So how do you say multiple sessions are necessary while the session is not even giving effective results? I already had to spare so much time for each visit, but sure, if you think you can explain better what you mean by multiple visits for a balayage, I can call. I am now wondering maybe you mean two or even three... visits! Ps: The front section you see in the photos is the results of bleaching alone! The toner application and/or quality was not properly done that you don't even see it's resulting beautiful colors! I hope this helps you understand what I mean by bad hair coloring. read more

Great service! Fashion forward stylists. Trendy and knowledgeable people. Glad I decided to try them out. My stylist, Nadya, was a delight.

Great local salon in the heart of downtown. I needed a blow out and they were able to fit me in for a gala event! I will definitely be going back for future blow outs! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. read more

I had a very specific hair cut I'd like to have and on crop hair salon's Instagram I found both Ali and Angela did very similar hair cut in the past. When I called to make appointments with either Ali or Angela, I learned that all the designers are booked for weeks and Ali and Angela at the time are not taking any new clients. Fortunately for me, one of Angela's appointment was canceled the next day and therefore I got a haircut appointment for that. Later on I learned from Angela that she's considering taking some new clients now. The salon was very clean, interior design is rustic, trendy and cozy at the same time. And even with everyone's conversing in the salon, and some were using hair dryers, it's not noisy at all. Receptionist was very friendly. I showed Angela what haircut I had in mind. She took a look and immediately know what I was looking for. We discussed about the length and Angela started the pre-cut for my hair donation. And after that I had a shampoo and massage with Amy. The massage was very impressive. I haven't had massage in other salons in US so far and the massage was as good as or even better than once's I had in Taiwan. Angela was very nice to talk to and took her haircut to perfection. She focus on details and the haircut turned out to be identical to the picture I showed her. According to conversation I had with her. January, June and July might be easier to get appointments comparing to December and August. I used to only have haircuts whenever I go to Taiwan and now Crop Hair Salon is my new go-to Hair Salon whenever I feels like a stylish change. read more

Could not be more grateful for Amy!! I work in TV - so appearance is pretty important. I have naturally dark hair, but lighter looks better under camera lights, so I tend to lean towards the blonde side when getting my hair done. I just moved to Greensboro and was looking for a new stylist. I booked with Amy and let her know what I was searching for. After my appointment, my hair was still a little darker than what we were aiming for. Amy was so encouraging to rebook free of charge to help lighten things up more. I went back two weeks later and she took so much time and detail to make sure things were just right. She was so sweet about the whole process and I could not be more in love with the final outcome!! Thank you Amy for going above and beyond to make sure your clients are happy and to Crop for having the best customer service!! read more

This salon saved my hair. All their stylists are amazing. I had Linda many years who fixed my box dye color, then Amy now who is dedicated, kind, and talented. Thank you so much for being a great salon and team! I love your local art, sustainability focus, and open atmosphere, too. read more

I really wanted to give a higher score but overall my experience was just kinda bleh. I ended up waiting about 30 min before my stylist came over. I had Bobby and he was super cool to talk to but it was the overall service I was disappointed in! This was about double the price of what I was expecting and it was not worth it for me. I'm just a college student trying to get a nice haircut but tbh I'd rather save the money and cut it at home. Nice I guess but not worth the money for me. Wish it was better as I was really hoping for a great 5-star experience read more

I have been in search of a hair salon for a few months now after my stylist of many years moved away. I'm sure most people can relate, trusting anyone with your hair is a tough thing to do. After tons of research, I found myself booking an appointment at Crop Salon. Just walking the through the doors of this beautiful salon, I was sold! It is absolutely gorgeous and so chic. I was then greeted by my stylist, Kayla. She immediately made me feel so comfortable, and took the time to really understand my vision. She was able to tell me exactly how much length I'd lose, and didn't cut it a single inch shorter. She started by doing a dry cut, and then applied color. I was then sent to the shampoo chair and received the best shampoo/head massage imaginable by Amy! It was exactly what I needed after a long day. Kayla then finished the cut, dried and styled my hair. Not only was she such a blast to talk to, she made my expectation become a reality. I couldn't have asked for a better cut/color. I will definitely be a regular client of Kayla's. I highly recommend her! read more

My first visit was incredible! Today I experienced personalized caring service. The salon is beautiful and extremely clean. Amy almost made fall asleep in the chair during my shampoo/conditioner! She's so very sweet! Then I had the pleasure of meeting Tuesdae. He is so talented and took the time to look and feel my hair and he listened and improved what I wanted. I feel so fortunate to have discovered Crop! The reviews are incredible and today I know why! I will be a regular client and suggest anyone looking for talented professionals, call Crop as soon as you have finished reading this!! See ya in 6 weeks read more

Amy was a godsend in regards to my hair appointment. She was honest with what I needed and how short I needed it to be to get back to a healthy look/feel. She was also super nice and super understanding about why I do crazy things with my hair lol. The salon is nice and well lit with a rustic feel. Most of the staff was previously at Chakras and is very accommodating to last minute appointments. read more

So a bunch of the best hair stylists from Chakras left to start their own salon and that salon is Crop. My wife, son and I all get our hair cut and styled here. The stylists are some of the best in town and some of the nicest as well. The space is very hip and stylish but warm. Reclaimed wood counters run the length of either side of the salon. It is open and airy, warm and inviting. The prices are reasonable for all the basics. My wife is a New York City hair snob and when we moved here in 2013, she started at Chakras as did I. By December, by chance, both her stylist and my stylist left together with a few others from Chakras and came to form Crop. Because it is right near the railroad tracks there is good street parking and no meters like a little ways back on Elm St. Further you can walk right over to Natty Green's or any other of shops nearby so it's not out of the way-or cross the tracks to hit some of the art and antique galleries or grab lunch at Mellow Mushroom. This is a fantastic new addition to Greensboro and I highly recommend it. read more

I went to Crop salon on April 5th 2023. My stylist did a great job with the hair cut ant roots touch up color. But in a week the hair around my face started to loose all the color and turned grey. I called the salon and mentioned the same to the receptionist. She gave me an appointment for next day. When I went there my stylist looked at my hair and said he has written it down to be done right on my next appointment and this appointment was only for consultation. I wish the receptionist had told me that the appointment is going to be just for consultation. So evidently if the services are not up to customer's satisfaction or anything goes wrong then taking care of it is not in their book. You wait till the next appointment and then pay for the services. read more

I had an appointment with Anna today and she did a stunning job on my hair! Absolutely stunning! I got a balayage done. I was there for three hours because my hair is so thick, but I didn't mind being there. The salon is very visually appealing. The staff is incredibly nice. They have art hung on the walls and music playing in the background. You can tell that they enjoy what they do. I heard from other reviews that the shampoo massages are wonderful, and they're right! I had tingles going up my spine lol. 10/10 would recommend going! read more

I've had my fair share of bad hair salon experiences which made me kind of skeptical of coming to Crop, but as soon as I walked in, I literally fell in love with the hospitality from the other employees and my stylist Sarah. I asked for a long angled bob cut and Sarah did so well on it that I've decided to become a reoccurring customer, which is definitely a first from me! She did really well at making me feel comfortable and super relaxed which is amazing from my other experience in high point. Aside from the great job she did, I absolutely loved the feel and layout of the salon. The woods and the exposed electrical outlets were super chic. If you need a good cut for a reasonable price with priceless employees who make you feel welcomed and comfortable, you should definitely come to Crop. read more

Just left from getting my hair done by Jenny. I came in with semi choppy and chunky highlights that didn't really blend well into my hair and I expressed how I wanted to be able to let my darker roots grow out and not have to come every month for maintenance highlights. She understood exactly what I was asking and did "hair painting" which is a softer way to color your hair instead of using foils. She toned down the white blonde and added some other colors to make it dynamic and beautiful. She just moved from LA and she's experienced. As I just moved from NY I was nervous to get my hair done here but I'm so happy I came to see her! She really knows what she's talking about and would recommend her to anyone! read more

I love Crop Salon. My stylist, Anna, always does a great job. I've been to A LOT of salons in Greensboro trying to find "the one," and this place is definitely it. The atmosphere is super cool, with exposed brick and art by local artists. There's even a coffee bar for guests! Highly recommend this salmon. Just keep in mind that they are popular, so don't expect to call and get an appt for that same day. It typically takes a few weeks (unless there's a cancellation). read more

i will start this review by stating that january was my last haircut thanks to covid and the fact that i moved from avl to gso and needed to make an appt as a new client. so to say i was excited for this appt is an understatement. i was warmly and safely met by the talented and joyous Cece who took her time to really learn about my hair and it's idiosyncrasies, then she proceeded to give me the best shampoo EVER all while effortlessly engaging in conversation and making my first salon trip in a while feel like a true experience. i love this salon, their commitment and use of eco friendly products, their diligent practice of safety and cleaning procedures and willingness to provide their clients with the best not-normal normal experience possible during a pandemic. 5 stars don't feel like enough and if you have curly hair in particular get on Cece's schedule - you will not be disappointed read more

I called same-day and had an appointment within a few hours. I don't think this is normal, as every stylist was busy the whole time I was there, but I was happy to get lucky! I worked with Sarah, who chatted with me throughout the appointment, getting lots of feedback as she worked. I know lots of stylists can get scissor happy, so I'd like to point out that she was very careful not to take more off than I was comfortable with. Not to mention (because I'm a massage junkie...), the head massage during the shampoo was extremely relaxing. I don't know about you, but I usually need a little relaxing when I'm about to have a bunch of my hair chopped off... The decor is funky, chic and down-home. The kind of style you'd want in a salon minus the pretentiousness. Dig. read more

I just moved here from NYC. I have had hair experiences that have run the gamut there. I had an amazing experience today with Linda, who listened to my desires with interest rather than a sense of patronization. I went home today from the salon SO happy...I think it is the first time I have felt good about my hair in about seven colorings. I am happy to have discovered them right away; I would be hard put to go anywhere else in the area. read more

Worst experience ever, showed the stylist how I wanted my hair colored and cut WITH A PHOTO, and left with no difference in color at all. She told me it was impossible to reach the hair color i wanted without several trips to the salon but this was her own personal opinion. My hair looks the same as when I came in, JUST SHORTER. The stylist ripped out my cartilage earring with a comb after she knew it was there. I was poked in the eye and she was anything but gentle through the whole process. Too much money for no new color or style. She used a processing hair dryer instead of a blow dryer and left to do something somewhere else and my head was burning. Very disappointed I drove an hour and a half to this salon for a great experience only to be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. read more

Looked up best hair salon in Greensboro and found Crop. Not disappointed. Caitlin did my hair in an angled bob and it was fantastic and that's saying a lot since my hair is very fine. Just can't get enough of this shop! I'm not usually an "every 3 months" kinda of gal when it comes to cut and color but these ladies do such a great job I just keep coming back. Sarah! Sarah! Sarah! I can honestly say she is a amazing stylist. She saved my hair! Being a California native in NC has been difficult on my hair...I was going to a salon in Winston-Salem and the last visit the stylist dyed my blond hair gray by putting too much toner in it!!! Rookie move to say the least. Therefore, I was discouraged but found Crop Salon with an online search and chose to go see Sarah. She listened to my story, understood my needs and colored and cut my hair beautifully. The salon space is brilliantly decorated with exposed brick and wood and I had such a relaxing experience. She gave me a great scalp massage in the shampoo bowl and at that point I knew I was in good hands so the stress over my hair finally began to melt away. Those of you that have had a bad hair experience, know what I mean, right? My hair was cut with the precision of someone who really knows their trade and she styled it gorgeously. I am someone that has had her hair cut by the best in LA and NY and I can honestly tell you that Sarah is just as skilled. Go see her. You won't be disappointed! read more
