I have to admit...my shopping goals in São Paulo were basically heels and Havaianas. And Boavista…read moredid not disappoint! Boavista is a multi-story indoor shopping mall that has a variety of stores. I wasn't familiar with most of the stores there, but there was a Havaianas store (perfect!) as well as a number of shoe stores. Additionally, there were jewelry stores, regular clothing stores, and food options. There was a swimsuit store in Boavista, but it was junk because they didn't let you try on anything. What I thought was really cool about Boavista was that they have rides for little kiddys as well as a supervised play area for them as well! I know when I was little and my mom would drag me to the mall I would be extremely bored, so this seems like a great option for both kids and parents alike. Parking was paid in the garage attached to the mall, but was not crowded at all on a Wednesday afternoon. Happy shopping! TL;DR - children's play area, paid parking, and lots of shoe stores!

Shoestock is one of many shoe stores on the same street, and this was just the second shoe store I…read morevisited while in São Paulo. I thought the store was quite big when I first walked in, but apparently it used to be even bigger before...that must have been awesome! The shoes are supposedly arranged by sizes, so you just need to look for the sign with your size to find shoes that will fit. However, as most stores are, people move things around after trying on or deciding to not buy a pair, so you will find a few outliers in a particular size section. The sizes are Brazilian, so if you are a visitor make sure you try everything on before buying! I found that, depending on the type of shoe, I could fit 2 different sizes. There was a promo going on back in July that took 20% of your total purchase if you bought 3 or more pairs of shoes. So naturally, I went crazy and ended up getting 3 different pairs! I got one that is super blingy (think evening wear and studded with rhinestones) and two more regular everyday type heels. I came with my friend, who only found 2 pairs that she wanted, so we combined our purchases and paid all at once so she could get the discount too! The registers are towards the front of the store, and the area was reminiscent of a bank in the States with computers lined up along the wall and stanchions keeping the line nice and orderly. They took MasterCard, which made me happy! Although there was a promo which was great, I'm giving Shoestock 3 stars because I didn't receive the best service when looking through the different shoes. I know there's a language barrier and all, but I could tell that the employees didn't want to help me get different sizes and stuff just by looking at their faces. That and the fact that they kept passing me off to each other made me feel less appreciated as a visitor. Hopefully, future visitors to Shoestock will receive better service than I got! TL;DR - poor service as a foreigner, accepts MasterCard, and heels galore!

This was the last shoe store I visited during my trip to São Paulo, and it was the best shoe shopping experience of my entire trip! I'm not sure if the month of July is just a good time to go shoe shopping, because there was also a sale at Santa Lolla...score! Their sale selection was surprisingly extensive, and I had fun trying on different shoes and making my friend try on shoes she would normally never wear. The staff here was very helpful with checking for sizes and similar styles, and I also appreciated that one of the managers here knew English! Meeting someone in São Paulo who knows English is quite rare, and I was pleasantly surprised when she offered me coffee or water in my native tongue. She ended up helping my friend as well, and even got some nifty shoe foam that she rubbed inside a couple pairs of shoes to help them fit better for my friend. I loved their service here! I ended up choosing a pair of pointy-toed gold heels to buy for myself, and the manager was very helpful in walking me through the purchase. She showed me the original price of the shoes and the discount that she had entered because of the sale. She also told me how I can use special cleaner for my new shoes to maintain the metallic-ness and even provided me with a little shoe pouch that I can use to store my shoes in at home. I didn't get to wear the shoes until I got home, but they are one of the most comfy pair of heels I own! I get mad compliments whenever I wear them, and love telling people I got them in Brazil. Thanks Santa Lolla for the great gold heels...I'll be back on my next trip to São Paulo for more shoes! TL;DR - extensive selection, comfy heels, and AWESOME customer service!
