This is in the hotel zone. Our 7 year old kid enjoyed walking through the outdoor part through the jungle (searching for iguanas). It was nice and shady and peaceful. The indoor part was fine. This is a great cheap and easy activity to do after lunch when it's super hot and bright, to stay out of the sun! We could have taken a bus for 12 pesos or $1 USD from our hotel, but we didn't realize.

We were only able to do a very quick trip to the museum before we had to fly out, but within the course of an hour, we were able to have a great walk through the (humid) jungle archeological site seeing the various buildings and the temple while also avoiding the tons of wild iguanas running around the path. They did a great job keeping the trail clean and well marked to make sure you don't stray off or get lost. Signage is in both English and Spanish so you can learn about the various structures and their meaning/purpose. It was great being able to see these ancient structures and learn about the rich culture of the area. We then did a speed run through the museum. And, honestly, I'm glad we didn't have much time for that. It was so hot and humid and the building's air conditioning was broken so even if we wanted to spend time there, it would have been so uncomfortable the entire time. There are countless artifacts both from the dig site outside and throughout Mexico and tons of resources to learn about the history of the Mayan people, but the vast majority of the signs are in Spanish only. So, if you cannot read the language, you might find yourself missing out on a lot of the information. But, honestly, everything on display is so fascinating, I think you would still get plenty out of just looking at the items not being 100% sure what it was you were looking at. I just wish the A/C was working. In all, this museum is small, but it packs so much within its grounds. I would absolutely say this is a must visit location if you are staying at any of the resorts in the area. And I can't wait to come back on our next trip &, hopefully, be able to spend a longer, more comfortable time in the actual museum portion of the space.

Getting on the ship was a bit irritating. A lot of the locals behind us would push to the front and were very rude. As we were getting on, we decided to skip the pictures and just go sit down. we went upstairs to sit down and we're chased out because it was for VIP only which starts at about $75 in addition to the $110.00 2 for one meal which is an excellent deal But we didn't want to pay $75 because with the $75 you get a bottle of liquor and we were pretty liquored up. lol!! We had an excellent waiter, and I wish I had captured his picture, but he kept the piña coladas and the shots of tequila coming to us as we sat downstairs on deck. The rest is all just a big blur. We were so happy with this show, food liquor service that we tipped a whopping $50 which is the biggest tip we've ever given in our lives. It's a world record.!!! but the tip was well worth it being that all the drinks were free. I don't know how many shots of tequila we had but it was so much fun sharing with our new friends. I had about four piña coladas. My friend, had about four piña, coladas, and six shots of tequila, something like that anyways!

We LOVED the Jolly Roger Pirate show in Cancun and would highly recommend it to anybody here. The crew seemed like professionals from a major production company, and the views of the bright turquoise waters and sunset were amazing. We aren't easy to surprise with thrills, but this was amazing!!
