Very impressed with this little place! Only ended up here when the chain hotel I was due to stay in…read morework a trip was full- so glad it was or else I wouldn't have ended up here. For pretty much the same price I got a lovely suite ( see pictures) with complimentary tea, water and my own coffee maker - perfect for that post dinner latte! Staff seem lovely and I was given lots of information on arrival. Next up was dinner. Popped down to the restaurant and was greeted with a great menu with lots of fab dishes on it. Opted for the Cajun squid with guacamole dip for starters and the pan fried swordfish with crushed potatoes, garlic green beans and salsa verde for main. Squid was perfectly cooked with a light Cajun batter and lovely guacamole dip. Cajun spices could have easily overpowered the delicate squid but this wasn't the case- perfect! Next up the sword fish beautifully presented and perfectly cooked not dry at all which can often happen with swordfish. Very tasty salsa verde which complimented the fish perfectly. A couple of glasses of Sauvignon blanc to go with the meal and boom work trip turns out to be quite pleasant! If you are in the Crewe area be sure to check this place out and if you get the opportunity to pass up a chain hotel for a local place do it!!

Good hotel and conference center! I had a business meeting at this location, and the facilities…read morewere great. The conference room had AV connection and enough space, with coffee / tea and snack station outside of the conference rooms. The conference room locked every time you exited, which means someone had to have a room key to enter. The dinner facilities and drinks reception were okay; the food was good and the hosts were kind. The rooms were also very comfortable.

Coffee and tea can be provided and small cakes during breaks. The lunch is the restaurant is excellent with a range of hot dishes, salads and desserts. I've only used the facilities as an attendee so I am unable to comment on what it's like to hire the venue.
Travelodge Stoke Talke

Stayed here for 2 nights over the October half term, got a cheap offer for £19 a night…read more We chose this one as it was near both Trentham and Alton Towers, both of which we were planning to visit. This Travelodge is simple to find, you come off junction 16 on the M6, travel onto the A500 towards Stoke and take the 2nd turning onto the A34 towards Newcastle and its just there with a Little Chef also on the site, so really easy to spot and no problems accessing it so great from that point of view. The hotel itself needs a good vacuum! I even commented each time i walked through reception that it needed one but we never saw any signs that anyone vacuumed here. On saying that however our room was surprisingly clean and tidy and the bathroom spotless. There were some musty smells walking through one end of the corridoor but we only went that way once and never noticed it anywhere else nor was in musty in our room. The room was your general Travelodge, double bed, sofa bed with pull out, chair, desk/dressing table, tea and coffee making facilities and a tv. It was a reasonable base for Alton Towers, we left early to get there for opening and it took about 40 minutes without rushing or anything so a reasonably easy drive. I would be tempted to a closer Travelodge or something if going solely for Alton Towers however, maybe something in Uttoxeter but as we were going to Trentham Monkey Forest this was ideal for both places. We didnt eat in the hotel and had breakfast at Alton Towers the first morning and at the Little Chef the second morning. The hotel has parking spaces but there is a charge for this after the first 2 hwhich are free. the charge is £3 for 24 hours so not so bad unless you have a Blue Badge then they have limited spaces which are free. The hotel offers early check in and late check out but they charge £10 for that, when we checked in it was 2pm - Check in is at 3. We asked if our room was ready we were told it would be ready at 3 but if we paid £10 it was ready nowneedless to say we declined and went and found a nice place for lunch instead. The staff were pleasant and helpful and offered advice on local places to eat and also information about the Outlet Mall nearby. Overall not the best Travelodge but reasonable and we would go back on a cheap deal.
I stayed here when visiting Alton Towers. The reception area could do with an overhaul and to…read morebehonest, the entire hotel could do with a refurb. There was unpleasant damp smell in the corridors that fortunately hadn't fully made it into my room but the room did smell a little musty. The room was a reasonable size and the bathroom was functional, if a little warn. There are tea and coffee making facilities but for food you need to pop into the Little Chef that's just a short walk outside. There is a large car park that was almost empty but be warned, it's not free! It's only £3 for 24 hours but considering there's nothing nearby it does seem a little cheeky to charge you to park. If you're just looking for somewhere cheap to sleep then this hotel is fine but I wouldn't recommend more than one night here.

On arrival to the hotel yesterday my partner and I were verbally attacked by "the manager" whose behavior was extremely rude and hostile. Our immediate impression of the manager seemed extremely off and unwelcoming. However we ignored it and proceeded with the booking. We did not even make it up the stairs before his antics began. My friends had simply asked to use the toilet and the manager went mental to the point he lept out his chair over his desk. We asked him to calm down and lower his voice as it had startled our friend however he did not. We then asked for a refund and didn't bother even going into our room. (Despite the manager being a complete arsehole, the rest of the staff that I was previously greeted with are absolutely lovely! 10/10)

The heating is hit or miss and the mattresses are rock hard. There are probably worse places to stay in town, and the food offered is pretty decent.
