Everyone was extremely respectful of my financial concerns and treated me and my puppy with the utmost care. I was shocked how affordable the testing was. I was in and out in less than an hour and the way they handle discharge is amazing, no worries about animals interacting or coming in contact with other pets. I wish I could give them all a big hug‍

We were early so we sat on the waiting room for a bit but they immediately checked us in, and checked on us periodically assuring they'd be with us soon. Once they brought us in, they had a calming sound machine on which I thought was a really thoughtful touch. The nurse and doctor were both very informative and friendly. My dog can be difficult with strangers. At the beginning she would let any of them near her, and would bark. They were so patient and wanted to try a few different techniques in approaching her. The last try was me bringing her back into the exam area and walk away leaving her alone with them. I was so nervous she wasn't going to behave and we'd have to leave. Less than one minute after I left, I heard someone say "what a good girl". Phew. She did great with them, absolutely fantastic. What a relief. To have an anxious dog that acts out and barks when nervous, it was such a relief how they managed her and she reacted so positively. They are incredibly affordable. The clinic is very clean. Everyone is so attentive and polite. And now I feel confident again, not only is she in good hands, but she's also okay & is building trust with them. Which is most important

Long-time client. Lost my cat today. Read this before you need them in a crisis…read more We've trusted Brighton-Eggert with a dog and three cats for years. The doctors are genuinely excellent -- no complaints there. But when my cat was actively dying and I desperately needed an appointment, they had nothing and sent me to urgent care or emergency care. The urgent care vet was limited in what he could do without my cat's full medical history and test results. Only Brighton-Eggert had it. Comprehensive blood work for the last few years, every 4-6 months. And also the result of the echocardiogram. When your fur baby is dying, you need compassion -- and that's exactly what was missing. A truly compassionate practice shows up for you in the worst moments. This wasn't that. The problems don't stop there. They've also stopped sending prescriptions to third-party pharmacies, a move that forces you to use their in-house pharmacy. They're not in the business of putting your pet first; they're in the business of protecting their revenue streams. Other reviews tell the same story: great vets, but a lack of compassion when you truly need them. If your pet is healthy, they're fine. But if you're facing a crisis, you may find that the compassion and continuity of care you're paying premium prices for simply isn't there. Premium pricing should come with premium support, at least compassionate support, when it matters most. It didn't for us. The doctors are genuinely excellent. But management has lost its way. Read the owner's responses to negative reviews and judge for yourself. We gave them our loyalty and our money without hesitation. What we needed in return was compassion. We didn't get it.

The staff have been consistently wonderful, especially with my highly anxious and unfriendly dog. Is Ellicott the cheapest vet in Buffalo? Probably not, but I wouldn't trust my animals with anyone else. We have received excellent care over the years from the front desk, vet techs and veterinarians. Dr. Stevens and Dr. Nellis are truly first class and have been with this practice since we started going there. I would recommend them to anyone and know several people who exclusively request Dr. Nellis for all of their appointments. Appointments are easy to make over the phone and they have an app which tracks when my pets are due for visits and vaccines which is very handy. The office is always clean and while the parking lot is small, I've never had an issue getting a spot. Overall, this is a wonderful practice.

I have been bringing all of my pets here for the last decade and have never had a problem with them…read moreuntil this year. I have brought three of my pets in this year for their yearly check-ups and have had Marcus(?) as the vet tech. At each visit my pets have not been referred to by name, just as they/them with all of the intake questions. Since they are MY pets, I have responded to all questions, while referring to MY pets as HE or SHE. On each visit this has escalated where Marcus has gotten more aggressive leading up to my last visit on 5/19/25 where he raised his voice and started arguing with me which was very uncomfortable. After he left the room, I overheard his raised voice in another room talking bad about me. That made me extra uncomfortable, so I decided to leave with my cat. I went to the front counter and said I was leaving due to what happened and asked for all my vet records, since it was more than obvious, we were not valued as customers. A couple of weeks after this incident transpired, I had no choice and needed to message them for authorization for prescription cat food for my cat who was seen on 4/14/25 for her yearly check-up. In previous years this prescription has always been renewed for a years' worth of prescription food. This is the response I received: Hi Maria, I hope this message finds you well. Following a review of the events during your appointment on May 19, and after discussion with the clinic manager, we have made the decision to discontinue veterinary services for your pets due to inappropriate behavior observed during the visit. We take the well-being and safety of our staff seriously, and maintaining a respectful environment is essential to the care we provide. Regarding your pet's diet, one final approval has been issued with no refills. We will not be able to provide further prescriptions or care moving forward. We recommend that you establish care with another veterinary provider. Please arrange for any necessary refills or follow-up treatments with your new clinic. If you need assistance transferring medical records or have any questions, feel free to contact us. Thank you for your understanding.
