I've always wanted to feel better about myself and truly believe that I'm beautiful, and I've finally found the answer! Glen McDowell Pin Up! photography!!! I discovered Glen's booth at the Women's Expo in San Francisco a couple weeks ago. He had several pictures on display and I was immediately draw to them. Very tasteful. Fun and flirty! I though to myself, wow, I might be able to do that, and he's so talented, maybe he can make me look that good!? I took a card and emailed him on Monday, following the Women's Expo. He got back to me and we discussed different outfits and ideas. I did my own research, with Glen's guidance and picked up a few outfits for the photo shoot. The Pin Up! package is the way to go!! Inez (his hair and makeup artist) is ridiculously awesome. There aren't words to express how good she is. Pictures though. :) They set aside 4 hours for the entire shoot, which includes the hair and makeup and 3 outfit changes. Inez is there the whole time touching up your hair and outfits for you!! Glen has tons of props and as long as you let him know beforehand what theme you want to try, he'll have multiple options for you once you're there. His studio is right in downtown, old town Salinas and it's a perfect size. Makeup/Hair area in the back and photo shoot area in the front. Onto Glen. It's VERY rare that you meet someone as professional and experienced as Glen. From the moment I showed up, he chatted me up. He knew that I was nervous (this is the first time I've ever done this) and spent the time to get me excited about the shoot. During the shoot he was a HUGE motivator and gave so much support and guidance. I haven't felt that good about myself since my wedding. He makes you feel like a model and it's so fun and empowering. He showed me the rough (untouched) photos once we wrapped and I was beside myself! I've NEVER looked that good. Even at my wedding. Glen is truly an artist and I cannot wait to see the proofs and the final outcome. I know they will be stunning. If you do one thing for yourself this year, it should be a photo shoot with Glen. It will change your life forever. If I could give him 10 stars I would. There aren't enough stars to express what he's given me. I will DEFINITELY be back!

I felt relaxed & confident in front of the screen. What made it so much easier, even though I memorized the script, was having the teleprompter right there within the face of the camera (IPad) so all I had to do was read the script & it looked as if I was looking directly into the camera. Mike operated the camera & interviewed me at the same time, which went smoothly in one take, but we did 2 just as backup. We shot at the golden hour, around 3pm, which made the video/ photos turn out stunning! He also took shots of me posing in workout stances to assist the verbal testimonial. Let me start by explaining my situation, I am teaching my very first SDC K-2nd grade classroom this year while getting my masters in special education and planning a wedding. With so much on my plate right now, I finally decided that it would be smart for me to hire a wedding planner. I looked online when I finally decided on Allison. I emailed Allison and after a skype meeting, my fiance and I thought that Allison would be able to help design and coordinate our wedding that is scheduled for this summer. I was really excited to finally get some help so I wouldn't be so overwhelmed. I had even made a deal with my fiance to work summer school to help pay for the wedding planner. I had explained to Allison how busy I am with everything going on and it seemed like she wanted to help alleviate some of my stresses with the wedding planning. Allison and I agreed on her fees and she sent over a contract. I signed and mailed the contract to her that very next day. Unfortunately for my fiancé and I, that same week we found out that our venue had caught on fire, the Tavern at Lark Creek. They had to cancel all weddings scheduled through the end of July (mine was scheduled for July 12th). If you are reading this review as a bride to be, you understand that this kind of news can be extremely devastating. With only a few months away from my wedding, I had no venue. I was frantic and didn't know what I was going to do. I was fearing the worst, what if i couldn't find a venue in time for that date? I emailed Allison right away and explained to her what had happened. I asked her if she wouldn't mind holding off cashing the check until I secured another venue. She seemed very understanding and said, "Oh no! Yes I definitely will. Let me know if you need any help finding a spot." I was really impressed on how understanding she was, which made me feel like I had made a good choice in picking her to be my wedding planner. After emailing and visiting several venues, my fiancé and I were finally able to secure a venue. I was thinking this entire time that Allison was ok with waiting for us to find another venue. I emailed Allison about the great news and her response was, "I'm so sorry but I hadn't heard from you and I ended up booking that date. I have ripped up your check and contract. I'm glad you found another venue!" I could not believe it. If she had someone else who was interested in that same date, why wouldn't she email to let me know first? Why would she lead me to believe that she was ok with waiting? How can someone say that they are ok with waiting but then turns around and books another client? I know I personally wouldn't ever do this to anyone. I am extremely hurt by this and wanted to share my story with anyone who may be considering hiring Allison as their wedding planner. We ended up doing a small ceremony with just our immediate families present with Brian and Heidi as our officiant and photographer.
