after Covid, this school closed and did not reopen. It is a shame it closed as it was the best school for creative movement.

My 3.5 year old daughter attends pre-ballet with a tap dance component here during a weeknight…read moreclass with Ms. Amy. This is one of the few places I found to host classes for kids starting at age 3. The instructor is extremely patient while dealing with a class full of wild kids and makes time to work with each child individually. The facility consists of two separate rooms for classes. There is one larger room with tiered seating for guests that I believe they hold recitals in. There are bathrooms on site and the facilities are kept clean. I have seen all ranges of ages in classes and have also seen singing lessons. If alternate class times on Saturdays were added for the younger kids it would be five stars! It's difficult to get a run down 3 year old to focus after a full day around dinner time.

A review from an audience member (as opposed to the other reviews which focus on dance…read moreinstruction). As a venue: spacious area with a large room for tables for refreshments during intermission. A medium-sized stage area with no disabled seating but they allow wheelchairs to sit in front of the graduated seating section (so in front of the first row). Personnel/hosting staff: Employees (or volunteers?) are happy and helpful. If you are disabled or are with someone, they acknowledge and help you right away frm the time you arrive until they see you out the door when the performance is over. Programs are right on time. Place is clean. As an entertainment/arts program: Well-chosen material that can be appreciated by any age group and is not too long for younger audience members. I enjoyed my first time at SpectorDance for their holiday show and auction. I felt welcomed into what seemed to be a supportive group of people who are all probably parents of the performers. People from the organizing team introduced themselves. The auction was one of the most approachable in the area and I felt appreciated when I bid on something. Plenty of parking in their private lot. My first time out here won't be my last. I'm bookmarking their site so I can know when performances come up.

My daughter is 4 yrs old and has been attending Salinas School of Dance for a year now. We love it,…read moreshe loves it. For the younger ages, parents are not allowed to be in the room to avoid distraction. Once in a while they will let the parents in to observe the last 15 minutes of class. The first time I was able to observe, my daughter was very distracted with all the parents watching. Makes sense why parents should not be present. The second time I was able to observe, my daughter was more used to the routine and did a whole lot better. For Mother's Day, they allowed the moms to take the class with the students. That was super cute Both owners have been super nice. You can tell they love what they do. I email Them when I have questions and they respond right away. I wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else.

The poise, grace and confidence that my daughter is partially due to her experiences here. The staff has always been more than helpful and the owner is a wonderful instructor, director and roll model for all that have the pleasure of meeting her. I have never seen or heard of any incidents of "laying hands", as reported by another yelper, in all of the years my daughter has been studying there. The owner and her staff go above and beyond to keep the children safe while in their care for classes. If anything the owner and staff have the patience of saints when dealing with occationally fussy children and more often than not difficult parents.

I would 1000% recommend doing one-on-one training sessions--it's the best money I've ever spent on myself. Thanks to our workouts, I had an incredibly easy delivery and post-partum recovery. Tal radiates positive energy! She kept me smiling, fit, motivated, and--most importantly--SAFE throughout my pregnancy. Her workouts were not only fun but also incorporate many moves that can actually be used during labor. She was always in-tune to my needs and would adapt her routines--even mid-workout--to make sure I was safe and pain-free. I also loved that she emphasized important foundations (e.g. proper breathing technique, connecting breath to core and pelvic floor, safe ways to get in/out of bed, ways to avoid diastasis recti, etc). I continue to use those skills daily. Not only is Tal a mama herself, she has years of experience as a specialized prenatal/post-partum personal trainer. She even stays up-to-date with ACOG recommendations and takes refresher maternal health courses. As a physician, I was impressed with the depth of her knowledge. If you train with her, you get access to her Strong Mama Fitness online for free--another incredible resource. Although she is no longer local in the Bay Area, she is available for 1-on-1 virtual training via Zoom. Our virtual sessions were super convenient, all without sacrificing quality. I can't recommend Tal enough!

There are various exercises every week that cater to different levels of fitness or how one feels for the day. This is very helpful as I don't have to worry about whether a particular exercise is safe for a certain stage of pregnancy. Highly recommend Strong Mama Fitness!
