My poor sewing machine had been sleeping all these years after one use but it has definitely been over worked these days, in a good way. So far, I've taken Sewing 101 and within 2 weekends I've learned to make so many items, such as table napkins, tool bag, pillow case, and reversible tote. My favorite has been the tote bag that I've gone fabric frenzy; thank goodness Joann was having a sale. By no means my sewing skills is perfect after one class and I've been best friends with the seam ripper, but it's been non stop fun making these one of a kind items picked and made by me that are actually functional. Not only are the classes fun, you really learn all the facts and know hows that'll go a long way if you really want continue mastering your skills. Signed up for 102 class already and exited to see how these classes can help me in a long way.

I originally stopped by in search of pottery classes--and was delighted to find not only that they offer them, but also that a new session begins on October 13th. In addition, there's a Fall Break Art Camp for grades 2-5, where children will experiment with a range of media including watercolor, acrylics, and collage. As I walked through the space, I was able to watch artists at work and enjoy the current gallery exhibits on display. The atmosphere was inspiring and welcoming. Adult fall classes--running October 6th through December 13th--are also available, covering both visual and ceramic arts. Each class is taught by individual instructors, making it approachable for students of all levels. Best of all, online registration makes it simple to sign up. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that such a wonderful resource has been right in my neighborhood all along. It was a great experience, and I've already registered for pottery classes--something I'm really excited about! I visited Berry college yesterday because I was in the area, and I've heard that they had some…read moreexcellent hiking trails. It's very close to the Marietta and Rome, GA communities. I stopped by the entrance visitor's gate, they gave me a visitors map so I could sightsee their campus. The campus is very beautiful and well maintained by the college staff. Their hiking trails and also well maintained and they're not overgrown with weeds and shrubs. They also have cottages that can be rented by visiting family, friends, or guests which looked quite cozy and comfortable. I'm sure that we will return for another visit and check out some more of their hiking trails on our next trip to the area!!!!

Going to college alone is just not enough to build a good book, in my opinion. And The Creative Circus is the place to be if you wanna go to portfolio school. (And have people constantly asking you, 'wait whaaat? where do you go to school?') I didn't just build a book there, though. I met some amazingly talented, super smart (so smart they're intimidating at times but also awesome) people, and made connections. People say your college friends are 'for life,' but honestly, my Circus friends are the ones I'll never forget. Plus, the people are really nice. Very low asshole population. That is saying something. Also, they didn't pay me to write this. PEACE.

Even though I took art studies and pottery classes in college (all four years), I still learn every single class when I am with Lesther. He really is a fantastic teacher!! This particular session I made two mugs, three bowls, and two plates. They all went to the glazing fire last week, and I will be able to pick my finished pieces up in 10 days. The Pottery room consists of two large rooms with different sections for hand work, glazing, firing and the pottery wheels. This area is my happy place, and I plan to take as many classes as I can moving forward and become a pottery member. Have a fantastic summer, make a lot of memories, and find your happy place. Three weeks prior to my son's birthday I was in an absolute panic thinking about where to host his…read moreparty and what kind of activities the kids would be most interested in.. Well since this 5th birthday was SO special because my husband just published his first children's book about our son being a superhero..And the party had to double as a book release too.. We wanted to do something uncommon for a 5 year old's birthday or at least something we don't usually do! I called the Vinings School of Art, and the owner Cara or maybe it's spelled Kara, was very thorough and got my party booked right away! She insisted that I come by and view the space and decide which sculpture we wanted to do. The place is super cute, very colorful and festive, so minimum decorations are needed. Her and her assistant had the rooms spotless and ready to go way before it was time for the party to start. The kids had a blast! They created 3D rocket ships with two revolving planets! Cara/Kara was even nice enough to clean everything up after the younger babies who couldn't paint had made a mess of the toy area! Everything about our experience was professional, fun, and well executed! We'll definitely be back!
