So this place is definitely one of the coolest looking museums I've ever been too. Very nicely done, I loved that each room was completely different and the dinosaurs were all really cool. This museum is definitely on the religious side rather than science. Whatever you believe you'll still have a cool time, but there was a lot of things that I would say are not facts. Wonderful place to explore all that God has done for us. The displays and information provided was clear and precise.

My family and I absolutely love this museum! You get to see how earth was created biblically, and the biblical reasoning behind things like the flood, ice age, and man! They have audio tours for whoever would like one, and every station has plenty of info to read. There are also several television sets with buttons to press for more information. Admission tickets very, very reasonable. And the employees are super friendly and are happy to help with any questions you may have. It's so much fun for the whole family! read more

I don't really know what rubric to use to review this museum so I'm just going with an average rating in an attempt to be fair. The presentation is decent -- it's a large space that has some interactivity. It's very affordable (check in for a $2 discount) and offers ample parking. The employees are friendly and the outside dinosaur area is cool. Other than that, this place is painful. I came here because I'm working on my Master's in Museum Studies and am just obsessed with museums of all sorts, particularly odd ones. If you're not aware, creationists deny evolution and the scientific consensus regarding the age of the universe and the planet. They believe that the Earth is about 6,000 years old. What they attempt to do here is to take scientific concepts and connect them with Biblical "evidence" (e.g. scientists: the universe is expanding; creationists: in the book of so-and-so, God stretched the stars). If the Bible does not support the scientific consensus, they attempt to refute it through very weak arguments with little evidence. Obviously some of the data provided here is factual (the concepts that don't contradict the Biblical narrative). You will read about the universe, evolution (or lack thereof, according to them), their interpretation of entropy, dinosaurs and their extinction (you know, via the Great Flood), Babylon and ancient Egypt, famous scientists (and their religious beliefs or lack thereof), and anatomy. The exhibits are comprised of mostly informational panels as well as models and replicas. I saw a few children and found myself wondering: is it a good thing that they are introduced to some semblance of scientific thought? Or is no science better than deeply corrupted science that denies the basic tenets of science itself such as falsifiability and peer review? It's not my intention to be cruel but I have to be honest, this debasement of science does deeply upset me. Please, go to the Natural History Museum. Evolution and God are not mutually exclusive concepts. Plenty of religious groups accept evolution. Personally, I am an atheist but I acknowledge that science has not disproven the existence of God. You can believe in God and accept knowledge that has risen from concrete evidence and careful scrutiny. read more

Love the $2 off savings from Yelp! We came here all the way from Nor-Cal just to visit this place. It wasn't too bad. I guess my expectations were a little higher, having visited the Smithsonians in the East Coast. But for a small scale museum, it isn't too bad. The first thing I noticed when we walked in was how much TEXT was on the walls. I know they're trying to make the place Biblical with all the verses, but are they seriously expecting people to read all those verses? Way too many words. The live animal exhibits were interesting. A lot of the exhibits look like they'd be really fun for kids to touch and play. They also had paper handouts around the museum that you could take with you. I took a cool one about "The Chinese Language and the Creative Hands of God." ( see pic) They also had videos playing around the museum. The first one we watched was about Mt. St. Helens and it was really boring. I could only watch about 2 minutes before I got up and walked away. The narrator just talked too slow and couldn't capture my interest. The one I liked was something about Hitler, evolution or abortion. That was pretty interesting. Some of the exhibits looked pretty dated but others were quite interesting. Definitely a good attempt to cover the different areas of creation, the human body, etc. There was also a wall of evolutionists and creationists that was interesting to read. There's some "Scantibodies" building nearby that we also saw an exhibit for. I guess you can donate plasma and get paid for it. Not sure how that links to the Creation Museum but something to look into. Not the most impressive or innovative museum but 4-stars for the efforts. I've only been here once, but I like it and plan to come back again. This museum is a cool place to explore, with lots of different exhibits, including a room with stars on the ceiling arranged like they were thousands of years ago! I like the idea that dinosaurs could have possibly existed back in the day! Can you imagine? That would be a good explanation for all the dragon stories from medieval times... besides going through the story of creation (from the Bible) this museum also has an exhibit on cells and how they work in the body. Pretty cool! There is also a bookstore with lots of colorful pretty books! I bought one from there with the most beautiful pictures! Definitely recommend checking it out! read more

We had fun visiting the museum. We did minimal reading of the informational placards, and it still took us about an hour and a half to see all of the exhibits, including The Tabernacle presentation (located inside the book store, separate from the main exhibition area). There were lots of replicas of various artifacts and live reptiles and birds which made for an interesting experience. The Tabernacle theatre presentation is 30 minutes long and shown four times a day (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm) in a mini theater. When we went on a Tuesday afternoon, we were the only ones there, which was really nice. We liked the fun special effects (curtains opening and closing, items lighting up, etc). There's plenty of space for a stroller to move about, a water cooler available (next to the restrooms), and a clean and spacious bathroom. read more

I was impressed. For people so misaligned by MSM and in the public eye, they don't present emotional reasons in their exhibits but a lot of facts "take it or leave it". I appreciated that. The "science in the human body" section was very detailed...maybe too much for someone like me who has no medical training....lol. I guess that's because the owner is a scientist who owns a vitamin factory. BTW, Pretty awesome that I learned he only hires women in Mexico and Ethiopia since they have little to no chance of getting jobs in their home countries even though they're often the breadwinners. read more

I'll start with the good: The fabricated exhibit items were excellent quality, very detailed, and well lit. BUT.... you'll need to check your brain, education, and common sense at the door. The premise here is that The Flintstones was a documentary, not a cartoon. The walls are lined with plaques that contain complete fabrications and mis-statements about science, biology, physics, and astronomy, all of which come to the conclusion "God must have done it". Don't bother looking for references to back up the absurd scientific claims, there aren't any. Any attempts to follow the logic of the claims on the walls is an exercise in frustration, as great liberties are taken with even basic use of the English language when it comes to "proven", "evidence", "theory" and "conclusion". Another group had a guide, who explained that "Only Earth has gravity, God did that for humans" and "God placed the sun the exact distance from the Earth to work best for humans". No attempt was made to explain why the Mars Landers aren't just floating away, or where the tides came from, and questions were not welcome. Oh, and they DO answer the burning question of "how did all of those dinosaurs fit in the Ark".. it says they were actually only 3 feet high and fit into a small cage. They even have a replica of that cage to drive that point home. The "Free Admission" sign that you can see via Google Maps Street View has been covered up, and it's now $7 to get a load of anti-logic. read more

They advertised as being open on New Years Eve, December 31, 2021, but after driving an hour and a half today, arriving at around 1:45, all gates were locked. I did try to call multiple times and only got a voicemail, I'm hoping to hear back and figure out why this happened. I won't be making my way back down until I hear back. This is such a bummer not only for the wasted time, gas, and miles to my car, but because I was really looking forward to this experience. read more

First off, I had no idea this was over here! Who knew?! Came to this museum to view a rough cut/presentation on the new Genesis 3D movie making it's way to theaters next Fall. Really looking forward to seeing this! Decided to browse the museum afterwards and I really must return because it was all kinds of awesome for kids and adults alike. It proves racist, Darwin and his theory of evolution wrong (thankfully), but it linked and not divided religion and science which I found, very cool! After all, God is the maker of all (science included). It's perversion and exaltation of all of his creations over Him that is the issue and becomes idol worship. That could be anything. Anyway, I found this really refreshing and got to share it with my scientist friends. It's bible-based, and walk through (tunnel style) the beginning of Genesis leading to the fall of man into sin. I really like the dinosaur section, looking at all of the butterfly species, rock section, umm...I liked the museum. I found that the volunteers and museum staff I spoke to were very knowledgable and available for questions. One happened to be a former atheist who shared his testimony of actually coming to Christ by way of his atheist professor who couldn't give a solid basis for their non-belief. He was desiring a way to stay stuck in philosophy and only found a way to God! God is hilarious. The museum has stools that you can sit in front of each exhibit to actually enjoy and read what's there. It was pretty packed the day that I went due to a big festival going on simultaneously, but I definitely would like to come back with a group and soak it all in without making haste. read more

Best creation museum in CA! There were so much information that we could have spend 5 hours there easily. The staff was friendly and the gift shop was filled with toys, souvenirs, DVDs, and great books. The tabernacle display and DVD tour was the highlight. It links the Old Testament and the New. You have to see the size of the 5+ star bathrooms too. The only thing I wish they had was headphones in different languages for different rooms so visitors could get the most out of the wonderful exhibits. References to well-known scientists and vaguely accurate summaries of scientific principals help adults recall foggy memories from high school physics class, lulling them into accepting this museum's credibility. Overall I give it a "C" maybe a C+ at best. Driving up there we were talking and we set the bar low for our expectations for how good it would be so we wouldn't get our hopes up too high. Overall I would say it was "Okay", or "pretty good", not that bad in general. It wasen't horrible and kids will like it, but it's not so great that you want to rush out and text all your friends and family and tell them how wonderful it was. The Creation and the Science aspect of the museum had tons of information to read and learn. The were a lot of exhibits and things to view as well. It starts off with the six days of creation the seventh day of rest, then continues on about sin, shows exhibits on fossils and dinosaurs, various kinds of rocks, explains all about the Ice Age, mixed in with some biblical history and artifacts (mostly replicas), as well as a large health section about how the human body works. Lastly, there was a section called the Tabernacle that had exhibits with replica-like props of the Old Testament Exodus account of the Tabernacle and the things inside of it like the High Priests, the "holy of holy's," the inner court and animal sacrifices. The video presentation ruffly explains all about the high priest in old testament tabernacle, but all the while correlating it with a comparison of the New Testament Jesus. At the end of the video presentation there is a Christian Salvation pitch. That section had a very "Christian" slant to the Tabernacle events in the desert. Defiantly not Jewish take, nor a Messianic take, but a very garden variety Christian presentation over all. read more

If you are a Christian this is probably a good museum to attend. If you believe in theistic evolution, this will test your faith. I went with a creationist friend of mine who assured me that would take almost 2 hours, maybe. It took 4 - and we were rushed at the end - because I had so many questions and because there were so many exhibits and signs and so much literature to take home. I felt a lot of emotions at this museum - betrayal, awe, relief, cognitive dissonance, etc. Don't forget 1 Thessalonians 5:21 - "Test everything; retain what is good." One gripe I have is that the arguments against evolution hardly brushed on theistic evolution at all; they mostly argued against naturalism, and they did so with naturalistic arguments. For example, they will say that while it makes perfect sense for God to have created mankind of of nothing, there needs to be a natural explanation for how the animals of Noah's ark ended up various places around the globe. The museum is very pretty, and the Tabernacle show isn't anything special, it's just the gospel message presented with a brief synopsis of certain Torah/Pentateuch texts. I kind of wish we would have finished watching the Mt St Helens video instead. read more

First off, I had done no previous research about this museum before purchasing tickets. I saw the museum pop up on Groupon and thought what a cheap and easy date activity. This is not your typical museum. This museum it is focused on the Biblical side of creation. I didn't know exactly what I expected, but i was caught a little off guard. The facility however was welcoming and each of the exhibits were done very nicely. It's not large. If you dont take the time to read in each exhibit you can walk the entire place in 10 minutes. It was interesting to get a different perspective on creation. But, personally one visit was enough for me. read more

This place get one stars because the staff is friendly and eager to assist visitors. It gets another star for providing all the information one could ever want regarding Creationism. However, this particular establishment is not a museum and that is why it gets only a 2 star rating for false advertising. Please observe the Oxford Dictionary's definition: "A building in which objects of historical, scientific, artistic, or cultural interest are stored and exhibited." This place does not house an objective presentation of history or science or culture. This place takes scripture and tries to play it off as such. This place TELLS people, rather than SHOWING people, how things are in a despotic manner. The arguments presented are flimsy and may be condensed as such: "scientific research might indicate xyz, but God did it and we know this for a fact because faith is a fact, so science is merely an elaborate method of denying Christian God." Young earth, young universe, etc. I was raised in a religious environment and had a solid religious education, e.g. biblical study, ethics courses, philosophy, etc. None of arguments pushed forth as "truth" in the "Creation and Earth History Museum" made any sense to me and it was very clear that the constructs and arguments touted by Creationism aren't applicable outside of the cause. Let me make this VERY clear: I am a person who understands that the Christian Bible is a collection of historical documents that (attempt to) record real events. Ergo, I know that pointing to figurative language in the Book of Job and insisting that it is evidence that Job lived during the Ice Age is desperate and idiotic, to say the least. That might fly as truth in "bible college", but not in any other educational institution on the planet. Many cultures and religions accept basic scientific principles and theories. Of course, if people want CHOOSE to believe Creationism, that's fine. They have a right to CHOOSE to reject modern science in favor of wild misinterpretations of the bible. People who believe in Creationism or who want to study one of the more senseless American sub-cultures will enjoy this "museum" as it gives a very complete argument in favor of Creationism. There are free hand-outs on all major topics to avoid any misunderstanding of Creationist belief, which is nice. Here are things that actually bother me about this place: 1. Sigmund Freud's photo is STILL hanging inches away from the Hitler/Nazi Germany exhibit. Do I need to explain why this is troublesome? I hope not. 2. Atheism and Marxism are not religions. Marxism is ANTI-religion. Also, people who are atheists do not believe in any god(s) and do not congregate for worship like religious groups. Get this right, please. Again, atheists, in their entirety, do not congregate in dark damp corners to plot the downfall of Christianity. Some christians, however, create exhibits with the sole intent of spreading misinformation about other world views. 3. Hitler was an ATHEIST. Ergo, Nazi Germany is not an example of a leader abusing religion. Fred Phelps is an example of someone who used religion to abuse others. Maybe he would be a better example to put on the shame wall, especially now that he's dead. The Westboro Baptist church could picket this "museum" and give it some publicity. Give it a thought. 4. The finch exhibit does not look safe. The birds don't have access to natural light. I love birds, so this was very upsetting. Plus, one of them is plucking his feathers out at great detriment to his health and safety. His back is raw and bleeding. PLEASE take him to the vet!!! Clearly this is why the San Diego Museum Council denied membership to this establishment. 5. There is one paragraph in one exhibit that claims Jesus' sacrifice is meaningless without a literal interpretation of Genesis. I was deeply, mortally offended by this. Faith aside, self sacrifice actually means something. The Easter story, sans literal interpretation or even "faith" itself, is still a touching story. 6. Someone who works here or owns the exhibits CONSISTENTLY replies to "negative" reviews with the suggestion that the reviewer should come back, sometimes insinuating that the person developed a bad impression of Creationism because they misunderstood the exhibits. Here's the thing: the exhibits have so much text in them that it's impossible to get the wrong idea. Each tenet of Creationism is over-explained. There is no way someone could walk in and not understand the finer details of Creationism. If someone walks away from the establishment with a bad impression, it is because, culturally and intellectually, they come from a very different place. Please accept that there are differences in belief, science, and opinion. Please do not respond to my review in that manner. read more

I took the kids here for some good Christian education. I was not disappointed. From the outside, the museum does not look like much, but it is really done well on the inside. It takes you through creation from day one through day seven. You will learn of the age of the earth from a biblical perspective. It took us about two hours to go through it. This place is awesome! I am thankful we have such a source of knowledge in San Diego County, plus it's FREE to boot! I highly recommend anyone interested in Creation and Apologetics take the time to stop in. The staff is friendly, the facilities are very clean and there is even a great bookstore for those seeking more information on this topic. I should also mention that it's not a great place to take younger children if you really want to absorb information. There is a lot of reading required, so I suggest making sure they are old enough to understand the concepts and probably better to go in a small group or on a tour so they can comprehend each exhibit. read more

Not even nearly as great as the Harry Potter exhibit, but at least it's not as scary as Universal Studios; but I had much more fun at Universal Studios. You can come here to see what more primitive humans may have observed during our ancient civilizations. I, however, was not disappointed that the staff totally went along with what we as humans used to believe in. Just for that, I gave it 1 star. It did not deserve the 4 extra stars; as it did not set the theme to go along with the abrahamic mythology as other theme parks go through. The actors/staff did not dress up in period-correct clothing, and the displays were too modern-looking for the kind of information displayed. If they dressed in non-mixed linens, did not cut their hair, and the women did not speak; then i'd give it more stars for actually being closer to the mythology portrayed here. They also missed out on one important aspect of their mythology: The earth is a flat semi-circle dome surrounded by water. read more

Great exhibit as long as you don't try to think for yourself what so ever. I even got the grand tour and explanation of all the biblical theories. As creationists play catch up to the scientific discoveries made over the last few hundred years, some of the theories are borderline crazy. Apparently the continents split over night at the speed of a few hundred miles an hour to their present position. Oh, and don't miss my favorite painting of Noah's Arc, complete with baby stegosaurus. As long as you ignore all fact and reason, you will have a good time. I was quite honestly thoroughly entertained by this place. You just have to know what you want out of a museum. If you're here to be educated, then you should probably go to Balboa park instead. If you could use a good chuckle and entertain the idea of an exhibit with a dinosaur in a cage on Noah's Ark, then this museum is for you. There were very few areas where I didn't literally laugh out loud at what was being said or suggested. My toddler was thrilled with all the dinosaur models, which is really what mattered the most to me anyways. To be fair though, there are parts of this museum that are actually educational. You just have to sort it from all the pseudo-science and religious dogma. Either way you'll have fun here. read more

It was an interesting place to go to especially since it was free (free on the first Tuesday of the month). I think a lot of the reviews are really disrespectful basically insulting someone for having a different set of beliefs... I don't know. Call me old fashion but when you are a guest, it's rude to laugh when you are in there and then to come on here insulting their beliefs.... I'm not Christian but I respect peoples' faiths and don't belittle them. Anyway.... Pros- price- again free on Tuesday, $2 off Yelp check in, and Groupons often high interest to me- I found that many of the signs and explanations interesting to read because I'm open to hearing what others have to say. I was raised somewhat religious and it would have been helpful to me as a kid coming here because I was always confused with a biblical time line. gift shop- lots of books for adults and kids that were interesting bathrooms- lol, yeah I thought people were kidding but they were really nice! animals-they have a snake frog, hissing roaches, finches, etc. and they appear to take good care of them. Cons- inaccuracies- like some mention there were mistakes in some things like saying Atheism is a religion 1 sided- overall I thought the museum did a good idea not too see too much pushing their own agenda but in some parts of the museum, it did feel like that (but you have to remember this museum is in their pov). I did however understand what they meant when they mentioned the Nazis with evolution. Hitler was a believer in evolution and Darwinism (not saying if you believe in evolution you are like Hitler though lol) and did base many of his views off of that. Sadly many of the negative Yelp reviews are solely mean spirited atheists making a typical attack on Christianity. The museum had many wonderful exhibits, and tons of valuable information about God's account of creation. I definitely will be returning to take a more careful look at each exhibit.
