What a boost for Wakefield! This social enterprise restaurant/cafe is a very refreshing addition to the Wakefield scene. Hidden away in Wakefield One (the fab new council building with the best Children's library), Create is bright, colourful and an excellent example of how to do things well. The drinks are served up beautifully. The Canadian/Irish/British chappy who's behind the counter most days is friendly, funny and welcoming. The food is fresh and delicious. Normally you order a sandwich in a cafe and it's got a measly cheap filling and stale bread but here the filling is yummy and the bread so fresh that I'm sure they must bake it themselves. There's also a restaurant section, which I've not tried out yet, and they do outside catering apparently. The fact that it is a social enterprise is great though as you feel, as you're sipping your cappuccino and eating your brownie, that you are doing a little bit of good!
