I first met Pat Cash when she started taking pictures for our hockey organizations and our hockey…read moretournaments. Her action shots and team photos were beyond superb. At the same time, I was in the market for a new family photographer as my old photographer switched to doing only weddings. My boys had their first session with Pat last spring. My little guy was a bit difficult, but Pat was able to create images of him that truly captured his personality and essence. When I showed people at work the photos, they were blown away by the artistry and beauty of the images. My middle son is a model and immediately secured work with the head shot Pat took. We go to Pat every three months for updated head shots and I could not be happier with the results. Every job I have commissioned Pat for, she has blown it out of the water. I can't recommend her highly enough. Her heart and soul shows through in every photo she takes. My dear friend was recently diagnosed with late stage cancer. Before she started treatment, we wanted to buy her and her family photos. When I approached Pat about this job, she jumped at it. The pictures she took of this family were beyond beautiful and serve as an inspiration source as my friend endures the rigors of chemo. This was a special photo shoot to me and my friends, there is nobody on the earth that I would have trusted with this special job except for Pat Cash.

Hiring Shane was the best last minute decision I could have made!…read more My daughter, a shy 9th grader in JROTC, had her Military Ball and after planning everything else I realized I forgot to book a photographer. I reached out to several people on Yelp and Shane immediately stood out with his quick responses, professionalism, and beautiful work. He arrived early, came fully prepared, and brought such a calm and positive energy. He even played music to help everyone relax, which helped my daughter come out of her shell. Even though the day was not going exactly as planned, Shane captured absolutely stunning photos that truly reflect who she is. I went in feeling nervous about hiring someone new and walked away so grateful to have found an amazing photographer. Highly recommend and we will definitely be working with him again!

I was really impressed when I knew Erin had gone to our wedding location in advance to scout it out. Without even having seen our pictures, I can say with confidence we will use her again in the future. Thanks so much Erin!

I am forever indebted to Erin for taking amazing photos of my husband and I on our wedding day (Pi…read moreDay 2016). Erin was accommodating, thoughtful and genuinely fun! When I mentioned I wanted to take photos on the National Mall, she let me know I needed to apply for and receive a permit from the National Park Service (we called it our donation fee to keep from getting bitter with NPS). It took longer than expected to get from one end of DC to another due to an unexpected road closure (dignitary motorcade), so we were running about an hour late. I was so grateful Erin was willing to wait for our arrival on a day that is best described as "unseasonably cold". Erin kept the initial portion of the photo shoot moving as she knew those under 7 years old and over 70 years old were expiring fast in the cold weather. She even was able to coax a smile out of Alexandra (my niece) who at 7 months old believes in "stranger danger." My favorite part of the photo shoot was the time my husband and I got to spend "just us" with Erin as it felt fun (and we got to kiss a lot). The photos turned out amazingly beautiful and I loved her creative shots! Erin knew just where to take us on an overcast day! Erin even had a blueberry pie on hand for Pi Day. It's those special touches that don't scream cheesy, but scream memorable! I included a few samples (and possibly I'm not the best model) but Erin truly made all of look amazing.

We booked them for a small event plus a short portrait session, and they handled both perfectly. On the day of the shoot they arrived early, walked the location with us and suggested poses and spots that I would never have thought of. They gave just enough direction so we felt comfortable, but also captured a lot of natural, candid moments. Several guests even commented on how friendly and professional they were. Turnaround time was exactly what they promised and the final photos/video were beautiful - sharp, great colors, and edited in a clean, modern style (no over-filtering). They sent everything in an easy online gallery so it was simple to download and share with family. If you're looking for a team that actually listens to what you want and delivers high-quality photo and video work, I'd 100% recommend Portrayts. We'll definitely be booking them again.

It would be helpful if you informed people in advance of not only the graduation picture packages…read moreyour offer but also that your "special photo package pricing" is only good the day you are in the building getting your picture taken. Had we been aware of this, we would have booked our session for a later date as Covid has caused us to be under-employed and finances are tight. We explained this but it fell upon deaf ears. One would have thought that as a local business that they would extend the offer by a week or two. It would also be good practice to inform your clientele what will be happening during their visit with you. Our experience was more of a come here, sit there, go there. We had no idea what was coming next. It should also not be assumed that a client knows exactly what shot is being used in a yearbook. Explaining which shots are being used would have been really helpful and made the encounter less contentious. And, when your sales rep pulls up a picture and starts gushing over how beautiful your child is, please actually pull up the picture of my child, the actual child in the room with you, and not someone else's child. We were simply a number to them. The photographer was wonderful and captured beautiful shots. While it was not a pleasant experience (except with the photographer), we are hopeful that the pictures will be good. I hope that they make changes to improve the customer experience.
