I've been ordering from Create for years. Recently, I have had bad experiences when ordering food over the phone. I call and order açaí bowls and every time it's a whole process of being passed around to someone that can finally place my order. Numerous times the açaí bowls arrive and the plastic containers are broken so ultimately my $12 açaí bowl is spilled all over the bag. I've told the person over the phone numerous times and they don't seem to care. Pretty upsetting. The sandwich options are great and pretty tasty. read more

This will be based off of the soups & wraps, and one bagel. I have yet to try anything else because I just get overwhelmed with the choices and go with soup. I mean, I love soup. So I'm not mad at my choices. Theyll have different soups available each day, Fridays they have cajun shrimp. If you can tolerate some spicy, go for it. It's pretty good, and if you're nice when asking for a sample maybe they throw in a shrimp for you to taste. I personally can't tolerate spicy (my type of spicy is Taco Bell mild sauce, that's as spicy as I'll go)-- but if you can tolerate it, Fridays are for you buddy. Their chicken noodle soup tastes really good too, it doesnt taste like Progresso chicken noodle. I actually expected a canned soup taste but was surprised with the homemade taste instead. The chicken pieces are tender & flavorful, not bland tasteless chunks of mystery meat. The veggie chili soup isn't really a soup, it's more of a chili consistency. Tastes great when you ask them to put some shredded cheddar cheese on top. The cream of mushroom is another one I wouldn't mind getting. It doesnt have that 'straight out of a can' type of texture--you know what I'm talkin' about, the gelatinous, salty, weird chunky taste. No, no, this soup is actual soup consistency & has tiny pieces of mushroom in it, too. The lemon orzo soup is another one of my favorites. So lemony, and packs a punch of flavor besides the lemon, and it doesn't get boring. Each soup you get comes with bread, if you'd like bread along with it. White or whole grain. Or sub it for crackers. Whatever tickles your fancy. I'm sure I've sampled other soups (you may ask for a sample taste of the soup to see if you'd like it) but none struck gold like the ones I've mentioned. The wraps & bagel were okay, nothing mind blowing. I mean, it's a bagel & a wrap. How does one mess that up? They were good, a tad pricey but is it worth it? Sure, you can customize your bagel or wrap however you want. Sub a cheese for a different type of cheese, or sub a meat for a different type of meat. You do you, boo. Create is a cute little spot on the 30th avenue strip in Astoria that offers a plethora of clean and healthy food options. A local friend of mine recommended this spot so I stopped by and I ordered one of their açaí bowls (Banana Berry). Size portion and quality were good for the price ($10 with tax). Prices looked reasonable across the board, so good place to eat healthy while sticking to a reasonable budget. read more

The last few times I've been to create, the staff has been closing early and putting the food away, while a line waits to be served. Your business closes at 10pm, why at 930pm are your displays empty? And the worst part is the line of 10 people deep just standing there waiting to place an order and not one employee tells us. So this place has some really good food! I've been here a few times and have had a variety of things from their salads to soups, breakfast omelets to lunch sandwiches and never been disappointed. I'd have to say my favorites from here are the soups and the sandwiches. They have some pretty inventive sandwiches that are very tasty. The service is usually fast and the employees are always pleasant. It's usually busy in here at any time of day- well at least the times I've gone in. It's a bit pricey though- a sandwich and water will cost you about 13 or 14 bucks- but you do get what you pay for! Overall, a very good spot to stop into and get some good food! I woke up craving a smoothie, I stopped by Create for a banana, almond milk, pineapple and avocado smoothie. I saw the lady making it right in front of me when I see she puts powder on my smoothie I didn't see any avocado putting it on the blender. She tried to lie to my face by saying that she did add the avocado and completely denied she add a powder to my smoothie. How could you lie to my face? When I'm in front of you while you are making my drink. I didn't take it I just left it there, what it really bothers me is that she was insisting me she didn't add any powder that makes my smoothie green. I've been here twice and they've been kick ass good every time. I had one of the smoothies ( organic peanut) not sure why they call it that when I didn't see any organic peanut butter go in. Any who, their salads is what gets me happy every time. They have several main meat choices ( buffalo chicken and pesto chicken were great) as well as tons of options on toppings and extras. In terms of toppings you can go nuts as I had a little of everything in my salad. The large salad is a good size to even share if you want and under $10! This is my go-to place for hot green tea since Starbucks is a bit too far from me on weekdays. A lot of their stuff is on the healthy side but I admit I absolutely love their nutella croissants. I really love this Create & Go. The food is great, the staff is friendly, and the prices are right. One of my favorite things is the fact that you can affordably -- around $7 -- create a filling salad with ingredients of your choosing. Their soups and salads aside, I'm pretty pleased with their vegetarian options across the board. Their veggie burger and their veggie chili are quite nice, and again, you can customize as you see fit. Final favorite thing? The breakfast options. I have been here 3 times. And only 0 times have I had a stellar experience with the food and service. Particularly, I'd like to shed light on an Acai bowl incident. I ordered an Acai bowl that came with Strawberries. The woman put 2 strawberries on top. I asked her if she could put a couple extra on there since two was a bit of a joke. THEN she told me "No I cannot because I already put too many on there" (Two...). I said I was confused what she meant by too many because the bowl right next to mine had THREE strawberries. And she said "That person is lucky because I messed up and put way too many strawberries. I am only supposed to put one strawberry on the Acai bowl" ONE!!!!!!!! Forgive me if the description was written in plural, how could I be so dumb.... Then she told me if I wanted more than 1 strawberry in the future, I needed to take it up with her boss. I don't know why this place only has three stars. Create is my fave place to order breakfast delivery on grubhub. The food is always hot, fresh, and delicious and the delivery people are always so nice. I've had to call to ask questions a couple times and their customer service is also courteous, not sure why ppl are saying they are rude. My faves are the healthy heart juice and green juice with cayenne, power protein oatmeal, skinny Greek yogurt, and their create your own deli sandwich and breakfast sandwich. This review is only for made-to-order salads and quinoa/rice bowls. The food is pretty good, similar to any of the lunch spots in midtown Manhattan in pre-covid times, but better options, prices, and service. I love the variety and great options available! If you have food allergies though, might not be a good choice. If you're getting a salad, the same serving tongs go from bin to bin of all the mix-ins (including common allergens like shrimp, mushrooms, etc). I imagine most salad places are exactly the same, but with friends allergic to nuts and avocado I suggest they avoid. read more

I come here almost every weekend be it for their salads, egg sandwiches, rice bowls or sandwiches. Usually I'm here during the day but tonight I ordered a salad right before their closing time. I had a regular salad with romaine lettuce, tofu, edamame, feta cheese and several of their other unlimited toppings. To my understanding you can pick 2 of the greens, one protein, 2 special toppings such as edamame and feta cheese and any of the regular toppings for the price of $8.29 for a regular sized salad. So you can understand my surprise when I got home and saw on my bank app that I was charged $12.24. When I was paying for my salad I could barely hear the lady behind the register muster the price and I was in a rush to leave so I didn't double check the price with her. And honestly I shouldn't have to. And look this could simply be that the lady behind the register was new (I had never seen her before) and maybe didn't know the prices. But please train your workers well and perhaps if one of them are unsure of the price maybe just grab a menu that's right by the register to be sure. This is the first time this has happened to me here so I'm sure it's just a careless mistake but no one wants to be charged more than what they expect to pay. read more

My picture says it all. Today after ordering French toast I got "breakfast syrup" instead of maple syrup like their menu states. Either change your menu or notify your guests that you currently do not have maple syrup in stock. I did not come to a healthy restaurant to eat sugary oil. I'm quite disappointed since I order delivery from here quite often (which I go out of my way to do since they do not work with my preferred delivery website) and everything I get is usually up to par. Ironically this was my first time visiting in person and I was not pleased. Also side note, my French toast came with strawberries on it which the menu did not say. A group of friends and I came here for Sunday morning brunch. The menus had A LOT of options, probably because they serve all meals of the day, but it can get overwhelming, but not to be alarmed, just read the signs above the counter/waiting line and you will know where to go. The only thing that was absolutely awful is the coffee. I'm a sucker for coffee and this was just wrong!! The set up of this place is nice for a quick brunch, lunch, or dinner, like a cafeteria style ordering as well, you pay and then sit and eat. Worst experience ever. Employees have their hair out, one has their headphones on ignoring everyone. I waited for 20 minutes to be helped and I had to ask for my order to be taken. I'm surprised to see that so many people have gotten sick or had bad experiences here. I've never had an issue and I think many of their sandwiches, salads and breakfast options are really tasty and pretty high quality. My boyfriend is a fan of their omelets, rice bowls and french toast. My personal favorite is the Cinco de Mayo wrap. I would rate Create 5 stars but to be fair, many do have a good point about the ordering process being a bit rushed and confusing, and about the cashiers and cooks sometimes being a bit lost. The girl who answer keep saying that is too far and told me to call the other location on ditmars. She ask the OWNER that they already delivered to my house and he said the only way to deliver will be if i order $40 minimum!!! What way to lose customers, forcing you to spend money. Unhappy workers means no love is being put in the food. I feel the bad vibes from the back section of the bar as soon as I greet them with a hello. I get a nod in return and a "yes?" (Not the first time, first time was with my girlfriend) they are very impatient with their customers. Ordered the same sandwich every time and each Time it comes out differently. Hit or miss. Was given attitude by a few workers. Asked for a to go box the same guy who made my sandwich told me we don't have but they were clearly in front of him and I didn't want to be rude by pointing it out...cheese for the cheese fries was literally just thrown on the center.. The only nice people there are the ones working the register. So sweet and so kind. Workers on the other hand probably want more pay. May I suggest a new job for them. 1 star because the price of the food (expensive) but not being price worthy for a 10$ sandwich id expect a good sandwich...instead I got a mess on a plate. 1 star for the cleanliness of the place, the salad and ingredients all aren't washed before being placed in the bin...ever tasted unwashed cucumbers...tomatoes...greens...etc 1 star because the workers are rude or happy when ever they choose with who ever. I love this place. The only qualm is I think some of their items are on the pricy side. I absolutely love their açaí bowls as well as their salads. Maybe some people out there will think this is redundant, but I just had the worst veggie burger I've ever had in my life! I realize this place does more than burgers, so maybe they excel at salads, in which case, be my guest and patronize the heck out of this place. But don't go there for a veggie burger. I had just done an hour of spin, so I was famished and probably would have eaten anything. I went here and ordered the quinoa veggie burger because I was in the mood for some protein! After about 5-10 minutes it came out in a to go box (despite the fact that I was staying -- maybe that's how they serve everything? Seems like a waste of plastic.) Because everything was all packed in this to go thing, it was very difficult for me to assemble my burger and toppings, so I just started eating it with a knife and fork. I may as well have forgotten about the knife. This "burger" was the consistency of pâté , and I could easily have dipped my bun *in* the patty or spread it on a Ritz cracker. It also was lukewarm, and the bun was not warm or toasted at all. The flavor and the appearance were both disgusting and despite how starving I was, I could only have two bites. On top of that, the staff wasn't super friendly. They all seemed a little like I was wasting their time (this was my first time here, so I didn't know to look for many of their menu items on the little iPads in the restaurant rather than on the *menu* boards up top). read more
