Teresa is the best! I could not have asked for a better experience learning Spanish in Oaxaca. My…read moreonly wish was that I could have studied with her longer. She was quick to get back to me when I expressed interest in learning Spanish. I only had 1.5 weeks left in Oaxaca and we met every day for 3 hours until I left. She taught me everything I had requested and included other lessons essential to conversing with locals while traveling. Growing up in Oaxaca and the UK she does a great job translating the meaning of phrases and sentence structure. I think it's very important for your instructor to understand your language just as much as the one they are teaching. Aside from teaching she is a very enjoyable person to be around. We spent a large portion of our time laughing and discussing things we enjoy in Spanish. On our last day we went shopping in a village outside of the city and purchased produce to make a dish that she had given me the recipe for (in Spanish). It was so wonderful! Learning a new language is intimidating and incredibly hard, if you want to feel comfortable and trust your instructor as a friend and mentor, contact Teresa!
