Went yesterday woke up Got food poisoning. Feel horrible and the only thing that was good was the salad bar.

All though there was a LOT of food to choose from, it was hard to decide what to get because not everything was labeled and if they were, it didn't look like the label matched what food was out. I didn't want to get anything I was unsure of and waste food. So needless to say I did not eat enough for the amount I paid. I didn't like the fact that they added a tip into my price without telling me upfront. Not sure if the warming stations weren't working that evening but every "suppose to be" HOT food I got was LUKE WARM/COLD and had absolutely no taste. They looked to have plenty of seats. I live at the oceanfront so really don't get to Chesapeake often (was there for a birthday party) but if I do, I will give them another try and update my review. read more

My friends love this place for some reason so I decided to tag along and give this place another honest review and to be completely honest I was a little harsh the food was slightly above average the beef and broccoli were super slimey (free young thug and gunna) but the fried chicken and lo mein were pretty good I may get food poisoning from the fish but were balling rn lastly I do recommend this place if you are broke and need a quick bite but please keep the bar low read more

This is my go to Chinese buffet. Great prices with a huge selection of food. Food is pretty tasty too. The place is huge, and always pretty packed. I've never had to wait for a table. This place is also great for large groups. They have a private dining area for large groups. On the weekends they serve crab legs. You're lucky if you get a claw though, people wait in line until the crab legs come out, then ambush the buffet. They aren't very seasoned to me so most of the time I try to stay far away from that madness. I've never had an issue there and will keep going back. read more

I can't speak for the dine in experience but I can speak to the food. I've been avoiding this place because I don't dine in unless I'm with someone else. Not only is there the traditional American style Chinese favorites but American favorite such as nuggets, pizza, fries, bbq ribs, steak, seafood and more. The fruit bar is a nice size and will appeal to just about anyone who enjoys fruit. Incase you don't want what's on the serving tables, there's a hibachi bar and grill that will cook you up any combination of your choosing. At 6.99/7.99 a pound, I see this as great alternative to getting Chinese takeout. While it doesn't look the greatest inside, the food overall is pretty decent. read more

I've dined here on numerous occasions - Crazy Buffet is convenient for me. My office is less than 5 minutes drive and although I don't hit them up for lunch, they are perfect for when I get off work and don't want to do anything once I get home. In the Hampton Roads area, Crazy may be the biggest buffet spot available. Their dining area is spacious with a massive amount of tables, and they have a banquet room available for events. Because they are so big they offer a myriad of foods. Crazy offers a sushi section (their sushi isn't bad and there's plenty of it!), a hibachi section (which I almost ALWAYS opt for) and a soup bar (haven't tried it, actually). They have just about anything you can think of when it comes to buffet food, so kudos there. Keep in mind, buffets are hit and miss, and I've noticed their food quality has slipped in the past few years. Service is fine, although inconsistent. Some servers don't care - they'll take your drink order, serve those drinks and almost disappear. Most, though, are on top of things and are friendly to boot. But, again, consistency is lacking. Oh yeah, bathrooms (at least the men's bathroom) are big and relatively clean. So no problems there. Overall, it's okay to dine at Crazy. They are inconsistent but good to go. They have a very large selection on their buffet and the food is fresh and delicious. There was lots of sushi and seafood and more than the nominal items you'll find on most Chinese buffets. If you like seafood lots to choose from, people i dined with said it was okay. The restaurant itself is old, run down. Tables chairs well overdue to be replaced. Staff was underwhelming when we entered the host appeared to be sleeping. The server only came by 1x to fill water after we asked. Took plates away in a reasonable amount of time. There are no real low-carb options outside seafood. Bathrooms were very dirty and obvious no one had cleaned recently, especially since there was a good amount of patrons on Christmas Day. Crazy big and crazy amount of food options - this place really does have the right name. I usually have low to middling expectations for a Chinese buffet but this is one I would actually recommend and come back to. The space is huge, and the buffet stations just keep going. The obvious customer favorite is the crab legs (I watched 4 people load up 6 plates and clean out the warmer in one go!) but almost everything we tried was on par or better than any Chinese restaurant food I've had previously. If you like Chinese American food or if you simply love a good buffet with every food option known to man, this is the place for you! Thanks to Yelp, we found this place and checked it out for the first and definitely not last time on Friday! For starters, the place is absolutely huge! Picture rows upon rows of food plus additional specialty stations and several sections of seating! It was impressive! As I mentioned, they have every type of food you could image from authentic Chinese to American dishes, a sushi station, noodle bar, hibachi area, salad bar, raw bar, desserts and more! There is so much we actually decided to take a lap before we even got a plate because we wanted to be sure we got to try everything we wanted! Everything tasted really good and we had a few favorites including the hibachi chicken, coconut shrimp, wonton soup and general tsos! There was even more that we wanted to try but after two full plates of deliciousness, there was no way to fit any more in! We did however leave room to check out the dessert bar and to our pleasant surprise, they offer single serve ice cream cups and ice cream sandwiches! This was a fun touch and they were super good! Overall, we found Crazy Buffet to have a "crazy" amount of good food and more options than you can stand! It was kept fully stocked and clean throughout our experience and the service was on point! Be sure to pick for the heavy ones as these are the one with the meat. They have about 10 stations including salad and cold seafood with shrimp and mussels. Plenty of Chinese and American options. There's sushi it's OK, but they only really have rolls and snapper nigiri... If you're a true sushi fan you're better off at the other sushi buffet options. If you're looking for overall buffet that is cheap as good food, and has unlimited crab and trump come for dinner . I'm glad I decided to give them another try for dinner. read more

This place is appropriately named Crazy. Their Crazy for serving that crap and bold enough to call it food. Crazy for charging their prices, they should pay you for eating there. And you'd be Crazy to ever go back there again. It used to be my mom's favorite place, she loves crab legs and it was reasonable in price for her to have all you can eat crab legs. We went there a year ago for my mom's birthday and we were there an hour and a half before closing but my mom is in her late seventies and doesn't get around too fast or eats fast. Well about 30 to 45 mins to closing they start breaking down the buffet. Stopped the Hibachi section of it and stopped refilling the stations. Main one being crab legs which my mom hadn't had any yet. One by one the food on the buffet was taken away. I said something to our server who did nothing, and next the manager who literally told me she should have moved faster. They charged her full price even though half the food offered on their buffet wasn't even available to her. Then they kept coming to our table trying to clear our plates that we were still using. Then told us it was almost closing time and if we wanted dessert we had to get it right then.. They wouldn't refill our drinks starting at 15 till closing. That should be the end of the story, I mean That's ridiculous and horrible customer service. But call us CRAZY, we went there tonight per my mom's request hoping that night a year ago was a fluke. Tonight I tried to remain hopeful. I made up a Hibachi plate, they ended up giving mine to someone else and gave me theirs. I took it back up to the grill where he rudely took the plate from me and tapped his spatula while I constructed a new one. I fixed two other plates from the buffet while I waited. On one plate I had fried shrimp, spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken. I had one bite of the shrimp and it was breading, undercooked doughy breading. Tried one bit of the spring roll and it was cold and soggy. Same with the one bite I had of the sweet and sour chicken. That's three bites, plus one spoonful of the egg drop soup which was extremely oily, fishy and cold. So I asked our server to take it away. I went and got my hibachi plate that was ready and by the time I got back to the table I was so nauseous and sweating I just handed my hibachi to my boyfriend who was going to get one anyway, so I gave him that one to eat cause I was going to get sick at this point. I told the manager the problem, told him I wasn't going to be eating and was their a way to just buy a soup or a salad instead of the buffet. We saw him cross off the buffet charge from our ticket and then He huffed and said he wouldn't know how to charge me. I told him nevermind. I got up and went outside for air. I ended up getting sick and couldn't stop sweating. I remained outside till they were done then I came back just into the foyer area of the restaurant to help my mother out and to the car. I asked her if they in fact took it off and she told me no. At the end of the meal they brought over a camera with video of me taking the 3 bites and one spoonful of food counting as it played and said I must pay cause I ate. Are you kidding me? First, no different than if I had ordered it off the menu and it came out and I took a couple bites just to find out it was cold, undercooked and tasted terrible and then sent it back. It needed to be taken off the bill. Plus, if the manager had came back immediately and said they weren't taking it off I would have at least had a salad, or fruit, dessert something, of course once I was finished throwing up. My mother was extremely disappointed because she had even called and asked about having crab legs and was told yes. When we got there the crab bin was empty at the moment and there were people waiting for them to come out which is normal. However, when it came out it wasn't crab legs, it was whole blue crabs. If she had known that from the beginning, we wouldn't have gone there at all, or would have stayed, but it was too late. We asked for a comment card, and the gentleman we thought was the manager, who had acted as the manager up to this point told us about the comment card that we needed to talk to the manager. What the f@#&? So needless to say we will not ever be back and if I could spare someone else the same horrible experience then great. Also, even though there are signs about masks and gloves there weren't any. No one not even staff wore gloves or masks , not serving tables, not refilling the buffet, not cooking the hibachi. There was a rat in there y'all me and my family we go to crazy buffet for one of my cousin's birthday . And they saw us in a room. They fast in the room that had a big selection of tables. However they said all of us in the very back. Now don't get me the wrong there's nothing wrong with sending them back. However they sent almost every family and table that went in there at the back. Just to find out that there is a rat or whatever kind of animal in there I don't even know cuz someone said it was a possum. A lady jumped up on her chair asking there's a rat in here they didn't even give us our money back. But do not worry we are going to be calling the health department. I visited this restaurant on a Friday night...I believe the buffet was about $10 for adults. But even if it was $15 it was well worth every dollar. I am not a buffet fan AT ALL. You arrive at 5pm, and you may be eating food that's been out since they opened...nah!!! Just be alert...when in doubt turn around and come again when you see heavy traffic IMO, the food is best! The one more star they didn't receive is due to the restroom...the signs of "do not" raised a brow...just tacky. But the restroom is very spacious as well. I look forward to returning. I really like Crazy Buffet!! We've been there 3 times, once since covid started, and it's still really delicious. My favorite food there is the Custard Buns (with covid they don't have those anymore), but their pork and taro buns are super good as well!! My toddler son loves the food as well, and he ate a huge plate the last time we went!! Also, all the servers were nice and friendly. They also had really spread out social distancing, along with requiring people to wear masks and use gloves to get their food at the buffet tables. For a Chinese buffet Crazy Buffet & Grill is a decent option with a variety of food choices to choose from. The establishment is huge, prices are competitive, lots of Chinese/American options, and the location is in a shopping center in a general area. They offer sushi, Chinese/American food, Hibachi Grill, dessert bar & much more. Overall, this is probably one of the best buffet spots to go to in the Hampton Roads area. They will bring you the check and hover over you until you pay. My husband came for lunch with some coworkers ine day and one of the waitresses literally yelled at him to leave her no less than $5 and something similar has happened to me before when I came with my mom and sister. They are extremely rude and aggressive about their tips and how long it takes you to pay. I can see why the restaurant is called "Crazy", because of the amount of craziness that occurs when customers fight for the crab legs. On to the food, there was a variety of options to choose from: sushi, hibachi, noodle soup, and many more mixtures of Asian and American cuisine. However, amongst these food, some were either too salty or just too bland. The lack of flavor in some food can be fixed, but the excess saltiness in other foods made it unenjoyable. For services, it took awhile for my drinks to be refilled. It's understandable because the place is quite busy. My waitress was quite rude and took my plates with food (that I was still eating) up without even making sure I was finished with them. After I paid my tab, my waitress was very rude and demanding, asking me if I'm going to tip her. Of course I did, but I felt uncomfortable with her standing there waiting to collect her tip. Overall, the food was a hit or miss, you never know what's going to be bland, or what's going to be too salty. My waitress was rude and demanding, but I'm sure others were nice. For the price, it's a very limited selection to choose from, & they do not have crab legs on the week days. Food is undercooked, tonight I ate an uncooked pork dumpling and did not realize it until after the first bite. I advised management and they advised me that they have insurance if I need to go to the doctor. The food was all old, as if it had been sitting there all day--except the dumplings, which they had just brought out. If you eat here, I just recommend that you view and cut open your food before eating. Also the entire staff were on their cell phones, the hibachi cooks and the waitresses. There's several different stations of food HOWEVER I was disappointed because I went up there a few times and the same old looking food was still up there. The teriyaki chicken, General tso's, kids food (pizza, tenders), cheese wontons and many others were not fresh at all. The hibachi was pretty good, but I wouldn't recommend the steak because it was tough and chewy. The service is what I would expect from a buffet, meh. Our waitress got a little snappy when we asked for a high chair or a sling more than once. She kept the drinks full for the most part & kept plates cleared, but that was it.
