I should've thought twice before hiring him. Thought I was getting a good deal in only having to pay $1500 for his retainer. I figured my case wasn't complicated at all. My daughter had already been with me full time for 2 years. I filed with DCSS in July...my ex filed his motion in August. I had plenty of texts and emails offering my ex more time that he would regularly decline. I'm a stay at home mother with all the time in the world to spend with her. The list goes on of points to back up the many reasons I should have primary custody. He never argued anything for me. My ex gained 50% custody of our daughter. While on his time she's primarily cared for by her father's ailing 90+ year old grandmother that can't get around without a walker or his drug addicted brother that has an extensive criminal background. Everything my ex requested he got! Wallace just rolled over for him and his attorney. And to top it all off, he never even resolved the child support issue! I'm still dealing with that on my own. If Wallace were as diligent in fighting for me as he was in collecting my balance due then I may have been some what satisfied with his service. I read the review from another yelper saying he works well with complicated situations. Ha! That's a joke. Don't waste your money on this guy. Shop around and go with someone else. And another side note. His associate attorney sat in on a meeting with us because Wallace wasn't going to be able to appear at one of the hearings. Talk about unprofessional! It was like sitting with two little bickering kids. They had the worst attitude towards each other. I had never wanted a meeting to end more than that one. This person literally tried to take advantage of my 70 year old mother, who is an immigrant, so her knowledge of the court was very minimal, including her English. Due to some unfortunate circumstances, my mother became executor of a will and needed to probate some accounts. She happened to see his ad in the papers, and she entered what would be one of the most stressful periods of her life. This "lawyer" would literally berate her telling her she knows nothing, and string her along for months, accruing and prolonging his fee. In some ways, I feel like he is also a misogynist, because he had the audacity to ask why her husband was not made the executor - it really is none of his business. If she was made the executor, that's all you need to know. At one point, when trying to calculate all the funds, he started to reprimand my mother thinking she was stealing/hiding money from the accounts, when in actuality, the missing money were fees being paid to him - it was my mother who pointed this out to the is "brilliant lawyer". Thankfully, my mom sought out a second opinion, and honestly, the other lawyers were just as confused as my mother as to why this "lawyer" was dragging the process on for so long, when the it could have been done and over with so much more efficiently. My mother finally had enough, and in her courage, spoke out against him, threatening to report him to the boards. He smugly told her to do so, as the most the boards would punish him would be "misconduct." Honestly, this told me he knew what he was doing was wrong. He thought he could string this older lady along, to squeeze as much money out of her as much as possible, and bully her. She even threatened to boycott outside his office, to ensure that no one would use him. After my mother finally spoke up, guess what happened? He finally finished the process. My mother is a kind soul, and she just had to endure a difficult experience that no mother should have to go through. This "lawyer" only added more to the stress. The moment he saw how much were in the accounts, his demeanor changed. With his money grubbing hands, he hoped to take as much as he could, but little did he know, my mom was not to be trifle with. She may seem to know nothing, but she is very intelligent and catches onto things fairly quickly. Her only regret is that wished that she had never call the number on the ad. Use with caution or avoid all together and save yourself a headache. He's very lucky that everything is settled now, because if my mother was still in the midst of probating, we would have definitely filed a complaint against him to the boards. We're just happy this nightmare is over.
