I have post breast cancer lymphedema in my right arm/chest quadrant. I honestly don't know what I would do without Consuelo's therapy which keeps my lymph fluid in check or gets rid of it if I get backed up (lifting, weather, etc., etc. can all make my arm swell and I have very little control of keeping the fluid moving). I can arrive for an appointment feeling all bogged down and almost flu-like, and leave with a bounce to my step.
I also love that she uses cranio-sacral therapy, total body lymphatic work and miofascial release to help my whole body get re-aligned and working properly. I have twin granddaughters and am always sitting cross-legged on the floor with them or lifting them on one hip (or both hips simultaneously) which gets me out of alignment pretty quickly. She puts me back together and takes the ache and limp away.
I wasn't sure how to describe this and so I asked her. Here is her explanation: "Myofascia is also translated as muscle fascia. Myofascial Release is the release of the muscles and their connective tissues. Fascia is a connective tissue. Plantar fascia is the chunk of fascia on the bottom of the foot. It's there for support. Fascia is like an internal body stocking or webbing. Essentially one continuous sheath from the bottom of the feet (plantar fascia) to the top of the head. Panty hose or a sock make an excellent example. If they get twisted it gets tight and uncomfortable. What you feel me doing is straightening it out."
Half the time I have no idea why I'm hurting in a certain area and can't figure out what I did. Here's where Consuelo's expertise and intuition kick in and she is able to discern and treat the pain with the myofascial release technique. Relief!!! No more pain!
Although her title is LMT, she is so much more than that. I can't encourage you enough to do your body a favor and let her work on you. You'll be amazed at the difference in how you feel. She has that great intuition I mentioned and knows what your body needs even when you can't really tell her sometimes. Often, when she asks what I need that day, I'll just say "You tell me, I'm too stressed to really know" and, by gosh, she knows and does what is needed. It's truly amazing! read more
