Had a 7:45 am appointment and arrived around 7:30am. to complete some paperwork. Pretty easy…read morelocation to find. They have a parking deck where visitors can park in. I came for an MRI, which was located on the first floor. They do have a directory where you can see exactly where you need to go. The receptionist was polite and explained everything in detail. Gave me the paperwork to fill out. As soon as I was done filling out paperwork, they immediately called me back. Had to change into scrubs and then was sent to get the MRI done. I had never gotten one done before, and this was definitely an experience. The tech did take her time and explained the whole process to me. What to expect and what to do. No complaints and everything went very smoothly and efficiently.

With two recent visits, one for an Utrasound, the other for a Catscan, I cannot say there was…read moreconsistency between both appointments. If I would rate this Imaging center only on the Ultrasound appointment, it would be a 1 star review. 30 minute delay in the waiting room and rude staff. However, my second visit for the Catscan was a completely different experinece. From check in to post exam the staff and explanation of things was great. So, I figured I'd average the two appointments and give them three stars, but I really think they might be a two. The staff needs to work on being a little more patient with questions, and not so rude, and if they are running 20 - 30 behind I think they should tell patients upfront, as I scheduled this in between meetings, so would have been able to call someone and move things around.

First let me say, I have been with Charlotte Medical Clinic since around 1988. I am now 67 and on…read moreMedicare. There are a couple of issues I would like to address. So in Nov 2025, I had my 3rd Medicare "Wellness visit" which had been scheduled a year prior. First of all, they call a week before my appointment to say my Doctor is on leave and out of the office until January. I asked how long has he been out and they said a "month." So you call me a week before to reschedule and I can't get in until February/March now to see my Doctor. They said well you could see the Physician's Assistant before then. So I took that appointment a week later. I completed all my paperwork answering all the "questions" that they ask each year and submitted online. The day of the appointment, I checked in and went to the lobby and they took me back within 5 minutes. The nurse took my stats asked me questions and then I waited for the "Nurse practitioner" for like 30+ minutes. She asked me a couple of questions, listened to my back and chest, felt my abdomen and looked in my ears. She did not even feel my feet or neck for any swelling or growths(at least my regular Doctor does that.) She asked me how many meals do you eat a day and did I need any medications refilled (which I did not need.) THAT WAS IT ! So then the nurse comes back in and says we need to ask you questions which were the questions that I had already answered with my "Online Check-in process." So the Physician assistant spent all of 15 minutes with me. I had learned from my "Wellness Visit" at ages 65 and 66 to NOT ask any questions because Charlotte Medical will charge you for another "office" visit and you will have to pay that charge. So I DID NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS. So hear we are today, January 27 and Charlotte Medical Produces their Billing statement and I have a balance based on "Doctor's office visit, long." Yes Medicare covered the "Wellness Visit." So like I said before, I have learned to NOT ask questions during a "Medicare Wellness Visit." because just 1 question will cause Charlotte Medical to charge for an additional Office visit. I asked no questions and was charged for a "Long office visit." Are there any other patients encountering the same issues? I am cancelling my 2026 Wellness visit with Charlotte Medical and searching for a new provider. These visits are "Rip offs" for the patients. To be charged for an additional "office visit" and have a Physician Assistant perform the Wellness check and not even feel your neck or feet. Then have the nurse come back in and say we need to ask you these questions for which I had already completed and submitted online the night before. Enough is Enough. I just felt I needed to address this in a written review.

I have been going to Charlotte Medical Clinic for more than 20 years. Dr Hudson is the best doctor!…read more He is kind, compassionate, honest, so intelligent. I completely trust Dr Hudson with my healthcare! Several years ago they separated the responsibilities of the doctors. Now Dr Hudson no longer sees patients in the hospital. I believe the continuity of care is very important. Knowing he would be managing my care was comforting. Now I have to trust someone who never met me. Nonetheless I recommend this practice. The doctors as a whole are amazing (I have seen others from time to time). Check them out. You will not be disappointed.

My hope…read morewas that they were trying to be BETTER than a big medical system but unfortunately, they are just like the rest of them, maybe even worse. I am a type 1 diabetic, which is a disability, and I cannot have a preventative care appointment without that being discussed as it impacts my entire health and has implications the blood work that is run during a preventative care appointment. I was billed for an office visit during my annual physical which the billing department stated was because my Type 1 diabetes was discussed along with the medications I'm taking. I told her that I was ASKED about medications (as you always are at any appointment) and she said that I "shouldn't have answered them." WHAT!? I understand these things can be billed separately but it is ultimately at the doctor's discretion (I saw my OB and asked him if I could discuss something or if I would be charged and he stated he "would never do that") and I would never expect Dr Knox and this practice to do so -- and I feel like I was baited into the conversation because of my Type 1 diabetes. If you can't discuss your health at a physical, then what is even the point? Listen to my heartbeat? Sure. I can do that at one of the many other doctors I see to stay alive as a diabetic. I pay THOUSANDS a year (with good insurance) to see doctors and pay for medication that is just to keep me alive. At the end of the day, the doctor is the one that decides what you are billed for by what they write in the notes, and I really expected better from Dr. Knox. To know that I was billed for bringing up my disability and asked about the medications I take feels discriminatory and like the biggest healthcare scam ever.
