Robert at Depth Perception made me feel very comfortable so we booked with them. The communication prior to arrival was excellent we knew what to expect coming in from out of state. Once we met him in person I knew we had made the right choice. Robert is a GREAT instructor. He took the time to get to know my daughter's level of comfort in and out of the water. He is very patient, his tone of voice is very level so super easy to understand and he is very knowledgeable. I noticed that he was respected at both dive sites we went to. And showed us what we needed and what would work best for us. And the other thing that stood out was the cost of each item he showed us. It was much less than several other dive shops we visited, AND I MEAN HALF OR MORE THAN HALF, than the other shops. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AT LEAST PATRONIZE HOS SHOP before you decide to buy anywhere else. I promise that you won't be disappointed. I've always heard great things about this shop, so when I finally made the decision to get certified, I knew exactly where to go. The knowledge of the staff and the passion they have for diving is apparent in everything they do. I have learned SO much and felt so confident in my ability to dive by the end of the class that getting in the ocean and applying my skills was no problem at all. They take the time to help you get fitted to the gear that you need for class and any other items you may need. John is the shop owner and he has always been so nice every time I've been in the shop. Brant was the primary person giving lectures and teaching the skills in our class, he is in the process of becoming an instructor and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. Don was observing Brant during our classes to help him get his instructor certification; Don took us on our checkout dive in the Keys as well and you can tell that he is so passionate about his career in diving and instructing. He kept everything fun and explained things in a way that was understandable and made sure that any questions we had were answered without making anyone feel silly for asking. We've also gotten help from Christina, Hector, Tyler, and Ryan(and a few others) but I seriously cannot say enough good things about these people! He's a great guy with lots and lots of diving experience. It was a very well organized trip from gear, diving to lodging. We saw lot of beautiful fish and an awesome ship wreck. Unfortunately our first dive was canceled for bad weather but we all still had a great time hanging out at the hotel. This was a great way for me to get back into diving and I'm excited for the next trip with them!
