Coyote Canyon ranch is an extremely well run, drama free and great facility with great, kind people. We needed to make an exit from an difficult barn situation and Tyler did everything he could to help us out. We had originally chosen a paddock, but our horse was still recovering from an abscess and couldn't have his back shoes removed (needed a pad). Tyler was completely flexible about changing our minds and allowed our horse to stay in his stall. By the way the paddock stalls are some of the biggest in the entire bay area at 12x36 with room to roll, walk, or nip or say hello to one's horsey friends. The water troughs are all in good repair If you need anything fixed or see anything broken Tyler welcomes a text and will fix it pretty much immediately. Everything is cleaned pretty much daily, and the property is all in good condition. The boarders are a super happy, peaceful bunch. They welcome you to all their events immediately. Everyone here is here for the trails and the love of horses. No proving you are a certain kind of rider or a certain amount of money etc. etc. There are lots of beautiful trail horses, and horses in training, and some rescue horses or older horses. They are all very happy horses receiving outdoor time, time with their horsey friends, and time to be free and have space to run and walk around. Kristen is an honest kind and hard working young woman who works with horse issues and problems, solving them in a very kind, gentle and loving manner with patience. Kristen encouraged us to move on because we need a full time trainer specializing in advanced riding skills for a specific discipline and was so honest, so kind and so understanding that our needs were different from what she specializes in. We are amazed at the professionalism, understanding and HONESTY at Coyote Canyon Ranch. You will not find a better place than Tyler's. Edited to add: I just wanted to note that our horse lost a great deal of weight here and was also diagnosed by our vet as nutritionally challenged during his time at CCR. (wasn't shedding out, no sheen to his coat, ribs beginning to show, etc.) He was tested twice for worms and those came back "zero" so we aren't sure what was going on except that Tyler does a different thing for hay that our other barns. So, if you have a young horse or a horse that is working hard, or not an easy keeper, you may need to consider doing something different for your hay. We were supplementing with 5 lbs of very high quality low starch "grain" supplement per day, as well as Smartpaks, in various kinds and Flax. So I really think something was up with the hay at CCR. This doesn't seem to be an issue for all horses, so YMMV but keep it in mind. You can also consider supplementing VitaminE/Selenium which our current trainer and vet both recommended as a remedy for some of the problems we were seeing. read more
