I want to share this w whoever may be considering on becoming a Cox Transfer employee. I have worked for the company 10 years. While I was on the job delivering for the company, on June 10, 2024 I became extremely ill. I called my dispatcher to let him know what was going on. He instructed me to find a place to park the truck. I did and then had to call an ambulance to take me to the hospital. I was over an hour and a half away from my house. Once released from the hospital, I was told I couldn't drive the rig so my family came and picked me up. As I was recuperating at home w kidney stones, i received a phone call from Cox Friday late afternoon. They told me after they picked up the truck (after sitting in an open lot for four days unattended) that since the 1/4 fender mud flap was missing (it had rusted out and fallen off when I was driving), a crack in the windshield, and the front light out, they would have to terminate me. Yes, fire me. For the last few years, I was one if not the only one, that drove the most miles in a year's time for them. However, I shouldn't be surprised by this. This is not the only thing that the owner done. He also made me pay over $3000.00 for me to continue to work for him and drive the truck. The truck needed fumigated due to bugs, (in which I also brought home and had to have multiple items replaced, which was not cheap, and had to remove everything out of my entire upstairs and have the house fumigated for over 6 months to get rid of them), the owner said that he was tired of paying for this and would not pay for any thing more unless I agreed to repay him. He stated "I have spent enough money on this". So, before he would continue to make it so I had a safe environment in which to work, I had to sign a document stating that I would pay for the expense to have my truck safe to drive in. Not only did he make me sign that document, but he also made me sign a document indicating that I understood that I was now on probation for the next year due to this. When I talked w a lawyer regarding this incident, I was told that he is not able to do this to his employees. If you read the "rights of the employee" you will see that you as an employee have the right for a safe environment in which to work. So, if you are reading this trying to decide whether to take a job for this company, think hard. I know that they preach "family environment" but I sure wouldn't treat my family that way. Expect them to drive in an infested truck and then fire you while recovering from kidney stones over the phone. He didn't even have the balls to call me himself, he had someone else do so. What a boss. Good luck to you if you choose to work there. they will stab you in the back as soon as they can. read more
