In a way it seems to be a more laid back and chilled pub, which is more accustomed to dining as opposed to partying. The front bar was rather small, but still a decent sized, but the bistro was reasonably large. There wasn't a beer garden though, only a smoker's cage out the back, but the certainly did have some outdoor seating out the front. Look, it wasn't too bad, but it was okay, and a nice place to have a beer.

The atmosphere was great and the bar man was polite and friendly. I ordered the pumpkin and olive salad but I changed the pumpkin for avocado and they were more than happy to comply. My friends got the seafood platter and the schnitzel with dianne gravy. They have a salad bar with all meals which was good, unfortunately as happens quite often there was meat in the potato salad. Food was quick and served with a smile. My salad was beautiful - a tad heavy on the olives but beautiful none the less. My friends enjoyed their meals too. I will be back if I am in Moonta again, the price and experience were well worth it.

The prices are really reasonable - for both food and drink and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating - we were there on a busy long weekend and they went out of their way to make sure that we had a table. I ordered the King of The Mount Kangaroo Schnitzel with beetroot, salsa, cheese and pieces of lamb (crazy!) but delicious! I also sampled some of their yummy steak and a taste of the fiery spicy snitty! Almost a perfect score, if only the offerings in the salad bar had been a little nicer - and maybe a little more broad!

Well, when I mentioned the hobby of 'mainying' (that is driving up and down the main street drinking alcohol), the bar tender knew exactly what I was talking about, though pointed out that over the years, with the price of petrol, and the fact that the foreshore is now a dry zone, none of this happens any more. Yeah, the beer selection certainly wasn't great, but the atmosphere, and the customer service, was definitely pretty cool.
