And by that, I mean that they're the only ones that don't have show bands playing every night (although it's fun watching now a show band once in awhile.) Just like most bars, Red Ninja has had events here too. Beer is cheap and I've heard that burgers and ribs are good here, though I have yet to try it. Parking can be difficult, but there's always a spot somewhere along the street. Sound system isn't as good as everywhere else but the bar just has this chill vibe to it that you wouldn't really mind a so-so sound system. Everyone is just happy and loving what they're hearing. There's a beer pong table in the air conditioned area where I've seen a few people make beautiful friendships too. It's a bar for young people and those young at heart.

I went to X-278 Bar with no idea about what it was like; it was just one of those places that I would see filled with people whenever I would drive along Aguirre. I came in there last night, looking like a "tita" in a crowd filled with girls and boys radiating a strong, youthful glow and ordered a rhum coke with a fellow "tita" friend. The music was pretty good, a bit emo that evening but nonetheless entertaining. I love that there's now a new bar 10 minutes from where I live, with live music, trinkets sold on the side and cheap drinks.

It doesn't have the party garage feel that the others do, but those looking to drink and converse may appreciate the fact that the drinks are the same but the place is quieter. Make no mistake however; the place still thrives in the night life. There's an al fresco area that leads to a beer pong table. The interiors feature long tables and lively music that's conducive to a fun, vibrant, evening atmosphere. The joint is always filled with laughter, conversation, and healthy ribbing. The servers are very social and confident; they will suggest Tides' best menu items, and they won't be wrong. I love their Soco shake, which is essentially a mudslide in ground ice form and served in a plastic jug with a nozzle. You squeeze the drink into shot glasses, and it's sweet, fun, and shareable. Drink with caution though! The drinks are sweet, but the alcohol is just as potent in every one of them.

At THIS place?" I finally got the opportunity to actually sit and have a drink at one in their Paranaque branch, which is the originating Tides branch, I believe. The place was packed, but it did look great--I like the whole idea of turning a big house into a bar or restaurant, so I liked how everything was. I guess the place had a looser dress code, since there were a lot of people in their flip-flops just having a gas of a good time around their wooden tables lit by paper-bagged candles. The waiter was very peppy and gung-ho at selling us their two-drink set with a plate of munchies, which we weren't entirely sure of. We just got one Soco shake to start with, which turned out for the best since their drinks apparently have a great kick of alcohol in them, despite the innocent squeeze bottle they use and the drink's misleading sweetness. We didn't get to try anything else after that. If you like your drinks with a great buzz, I guess this is the place to have them. The experience will be forever marred by their men's bathroom lacking a door though. I can take a gross bathroom (and it was kinda gross), but I do appreciate a little privacy, even if I'm just using the urinal. I'm friendly, but not *that* friendly. I guess if you're drunk enough you wouldn't care--I probably needed more alcohol at the time then.

Since we had dinner already at home we only ordered a plate of nachos and two bottles of beer (total bill was only Php350. They don't charge an entrance fee). We were disappointed with the nachos because it was served late and cold. We should have ordered the sizzling tofu instead. Anyway, it's a good thing the band playing that evening, Jek Manuel and The Stronghold, was good. We really enjoyed the group's performance. I like the place because it's separated from the crowded and smokey part of the Metrowalk. I don't like their chairs though, very uncomfortable. We will definitely go back there because food (mostly hotplate or grilled) is not expensive, band performances great, place cool, and location is fantastic.

Seeing its walls lined with pictures of famous artists who performed there, one would instantly realize how many stars have graced the stage of The Music Hall. During my visit, I witnessed a concert where Philippine music legends Boy Mondragon and Richard Merk performed songs that made them famous. (Yes, not my generation, but it was a fun, entertaining, impressive show nonetheless.) All that while enjoying a smooth Daiquiri with Calamares, Drunken Shrimp, and Sizzling Tofu. With the cool air-conditioning and the live bands and groups like the FBC "Rebirth" and the L & S Femme stoking up the crowd's enthusiasm and letting them sing along to the hits of yesterday and today, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I'm sure you will too. Just check their schedule which is packed with events featuring artists from then and now.

I guess I have high expectations for places that charhe more for their food and with establishments that appear fancy. Being that there were 10 of us in our party I'd understand that we would have to wait longer. However, there was only our party in the entire restaurant and it took them literally like 45 minutes to an hour to bring out the food which was absolutely ridiculous!! First and foremost, the beef and brocolli was below mediocre. I mean, who the hell puts FISH SAUCE in beef and brocolli? It's supposed to be oyster sauce, not fish sauce. Fish sauce gives it a disgusting butt flavor, please don't put fish sauce in it anymore!! I had to stop eating it. The texture of the meat was a bit dry and tough. The sauteed vegetable chop suey however, was good!! No meat, just veggies. I did enjoy that!! The butter chicken was good, even if the chicken wings were tiny wings... must be 38 day chicken. Service was a bit slow and could have been a bit faster. I'll try this out again when I go back to the Philippines to see if they have made some improvements.

Maison, a separate shopping destination located within the SM Mall of Asia complex, specifically the first two floors of the Conrad Manila Hotel, we walked through a brightly lit, pristine looking mall to the rock 'n' roll-themed restaurant & bar. Entrance to the venue brought us immediately to the gift shop, then to the eatery with a high-energy vibe. The entire area was very clean and tidy on the evening of our visit. Arriving around 7:15PM, we were seated right away to a front row table from the stage. We paid a ₱395 cover charge per person since we arrived after 7PM, but the fee was inclusive of a beverage. Mom ordered the APPLETINI (₱475 if not covered in the entrance fee) which was too sour for her liking and I had the STRAWBERRY LEMONADE DAIQUIRI (₱455 if not included in the cover charge) which I found to be too sweet. Hard Rock Cafe serves burgers & American classics, but this Manila location also has some Asian food offerings. I was delighted to be served a free small bowl of kropek (fried shrimp crackers) upon seating. We also ordered the ALL-AMERICAN CHEESEBURGER FLATBREAD (₱695) for the four of us to snack on while watching the show, not bad. WENDY'S PROJECT and HYPERBEAT were the live bands that performed. Again, not bad, but not the best. During the show and even while the DJ was playing, they had a young guy leading everyone to follow his dance moves. It was almost like watching an aerobic dance class. Those who participated seemed to have a ball. I guess that is what makes Hard Rock Cafe Manila different from others, at least compared to those in the United States. It definitely helped to liven up the dance floor. Would I return? Only if Tita Loida wants to, otherwise, most likely no...because I would prefer to do something more traditionally Filipino rather than American while in the Philippines.

I ordered the Truffle Mushroom Pasta and it was delicious -- rich, creamy, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of truffle flavor. It's definitely a standout dish that I'd come back for. The whole vibe of the place was upbeat and energetic, with great music, cool rock memorabilia, and a lively yet comfortable setting. Being inside S Maison at Conrad Manila adds to the experience -- classy, convenient, and with beautiful surroundings. If you're looking for a place to celebrate, grab a great meal, or just enjoy the Hard Rock vibe with top-tier service, this is the spot. We'll definitely be back!
