Oil nowhere near hot enough for $9.50 it was a greasy mess. Also, they have somehow sourced even cheaper, bad tasting dogs. BEWARE

I haven't had j dawgs in a while, but I've been wanting to introduce it to my boyfriend, who…read moredespite being a Utah native, has never had it before! Needless to say, it did not disappoint. He got a polish dog with special sauce, sauerkraut, and a pickle, and was impressed! Solid 8.5/10; he said it's not as good as Portillo's (the gold standard for Chicago dogs) but still liked it. He said he doesn't usually like hot dogs, but could see himself craving it. I got a beef dog with special sauce, onions, and a sprinkle of celery salt, and it hit the spot for me (9/10)! I would've wanted the server to be a bit more heavy-handed with the special sauce, but there are free little to-go cups you can grab yourself, so I definitely added some to mine. I'm sure we'll be back. It's a little tucked away from City Creek and we didn't even realize it's been this close to where we live all this time, but now that we know, it'll be added to our rotation! Restaurant is clean and modern. Be sure to go straight and then right to order rather than directly right. We saw a lot of people make the wrong choice and have to turn around. A more obvious sign on the wall rather than hanging from the ceiling might be a good idea!

Highly recommend to anyone needing a quick, delicious & inexpensive lunch. This location is big and clean. Service was quick!

No, you probably do not know what a Sonoran Dog is. So no, you don't know if this is authentic or…read morenot. I'm from Tucson. I tried almost every Sonoran Dog offering--restaurant, food truck--in Tucson. Seriously. And have Yelp reviewed and rated them all. Folks, this is the real deal. So what makes a Sonoran Dog? First, the hot dog. bacon wrapped, with the right sized pinto beans, and diced tomatoes and onions. Next, mayo, guac sauce, and sometimes mustard, depending on the vendor. Often served with a grilled pepper. So far, so good. But if you don't have this final ingredient, IT IS NOT A SONORAN DOG! And that is.... ....THE BUN! Sonoran dogs are only Sonoran Dogs if it has the right bun. These are the right buns. Well...I'll say it is 99% the real buns. He gets them shipped in from Phoenix, I believe. Phoenix does not have the best Sonoran Dogs. In Tucson (the first North American city to be named a "Gastronomic Capitol of the World" by UNESCO) *all* Sonoran Dog vendors get their buns from Alejandro's Bakery. Period. *All* of them. And they are a special bun. Long, in which the hot dog actually fits, tapered at each end, fluffy, and ever so slightly sweet. Half of the enjoyment of eating a Sonoran Dog is the bun. And often you end up with a bite or two with no more dawg and it is a pleasure to eat that left-over bun with still a few of the other ingredients in it. With Chipilon style of Sonoran Dog (from a certain Mexico province of the same/similar name?) the bun is toasted on the grill on both sides and there is cheese at the bottom of the bun, which is melted. This is how he serves them. And the toasted bun is the best way to have a Sonoran Dog in my opinion. So I say his buns (from Phoenix) are 99% real because these buns have one end sort of sliced off. But that does not detract from the experience of eating these fine dawgs. The only drawback for me is that these dawgs cost $8.50. But hey, we're in Utah, and he has to import the buns, so that's an extra cost. In Tucson, anyone would balk if the dawg cost more than $3.50. But for me, this is the only game in town. And it's a good one. And he serves his with Duros de harinas (Mexican wagon wheel chips). And tonight I tried a combo that comes with any version of dawg he does plus a "mini quesadilla," which wasn't so "mini" as he stuffs it with a generous amount of cheese and you get three triangles. He's in the Latinos Furniture parking lot on Redwood in West Jordan. In case you use Apple Maps, until they accept the correction I sent them, it is on the east side of Redwood: 7659 S Redwood Rd. His weekly location (if different than Latinos) is on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/nanassonoranhotdogs. Even my wife, who doesn't like hot dogs, like Sonoran Dogs and likes these Sonoran Dogs. Check it out! 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

The short review:…read more It's not bad, it really isn't, but it's not great either. Good if you want a change in pace from normal fast food and support the locals. The in depth I ended up getting a double cheeseburger with some onion rings, in which it wasn't bad I actually quite like the burger, but the onion rings were meh. I would say that this isn't a spot that I would go out of my way to get nor ever probably think of again though that's the say I wouldn't discourage anybody from going here as the burger was pretty good and I imagine that the shakes were just as good. I will say that there is very limited seating inside, so going on a cold day when it's busy may not be the best of ideas. Though when you get inside, it is pretty much a classic diner-esc vibe. It has those big red bench seats, and some tile just about everywhere. All in all experience was good, especially since the burger was about five dollars(the onion rings were $4). So I would say there's some pretty good value here, compared to fast food nowadays it's probably actually cheaper. But the burger wasn't anything life-changing. I wouldn't be angry about going back though. 3.5/5

The staff was very nice and they brought out the order with your number. The burger was tasty and the bacon was grief well and not thin. The fries were crispy and good and I enjoyed the meal. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction going on so I hope they finish that soon so the locals can enjoy the food there without loud noises.

Would definitely return! Excellent burger. Got the firehouse burger, which consisted of 1/4 patty, onions, pickles, tomatoes, jalapeños, shredded lettuce and bacon. Ton of bacon and a ton of jalapeños in the burger. Was a nice potato bun that wasn't soggy. Shoestring fries were nice and crispy. The onion rings had a ton of flavor in it. Opted for the BBQ sauce over the fry sauce. Spot had a lot of history and nostalgia to it. I was there shortly after it opened so I got my food fairly quickly. One unique thing they had were different colored roses for people to take on the house if you're into that. Staff was very friendly as well. There's ton of parking too so that was nice to not have to drive around a neighborhood for parking.

My picky 12 year old was able to find multiple things he loved and the staff was friendly, patient, understanding, and helpful. We ordered cheese burgers with fries and a drink plus onion rings, a shake, and a hand scooped ice cream and it all cost us under $30! The burgers were juicy and delicious, the fries were perfectly done ( crispy but not hard or overdone with a delicious softer inside, not undercooked. Everything was served quickly, kindly, and deliciously. We didn't have a long wait at all! I loved the atmosphere as did my son! Their shakes are SO THICK you have to eat it with a spoon then try a straw later after it settles / melts a little and it was SO GOOD! Easily the best shake I've had in years! Lastly, their fry sauce. I've been to a lot of places that serve fry sauce all over the state and this was THE BEST fry sauce I've ever had! Not too tangy but not too light on flavor. I loved that they included it for free as well! 100/10 for food and experience! Would absolutely recommend!

For $12.60 I got the cheeseburger combo meal and I was pleasantly surprised that the burger came with generous portions of lettuce, tomato, onions, and fries. Most family-style diners either have too big or too wide that make it difficult to get a good bite of the burger and only end up eating the ingredients, but here it is perfectly balanced. I was able to take bites of the burger while getting everything. The fries were fried and perfectly seasoned and the burger sauce was just right. All in all. Definitely a good family burger joint and I'll be back :) (I also just came here from California last week so naturally gravitated towards a restaurant with 'California' in it lol)

Also, why have a soda dispenser out there in the open if you limit the refills? Seems super strange to me! Something that's fun on the interior are the many plants they have and the separate water dispenser. It makes it have a fun and interesting look. Crown Burger is better but the line was too long there so I checked this place out for the first time!
