Their paralegal received an email at 930 am Thursday (yes, i did enough investigating to get the email chain) informing them that the closing wasn't going to work out because they had not even received the seller's signed paperwork. For some inexplicable reason they did not notify us until after our papers were completed on Friday to tell us we couldn't take possession of the house until the next week when the papers might arrive. We had 3 dogs, 2 car loads full of belongings and no where to stay. I thought for sure considering that we lost time from our jobs to make the trip and had to cancel all of the work we had scheduled on the house that the law firm would have offered to help pay for our rental while we waited on the paperwork the neglected to tell us they did not receive... But alas, instead the establishment was rude and did not follow through on most of their responsibility. We had to double check absolutely everything and constantly caught things they missed. Bad move. The first magistrate said : Come back plead Guilty pay $ 200.00 we send you on your way. Nathan thought that crossing out a date was like missing a period or a comma. Big difference. Needless to say if you are pleading GUILTY then he is the lawyer to see. Court cost went from a $ 200.00 fine to about $ 500.00. He went to court 3 times for me and never let me know what was happening at either one. He had my money though. I was ordered to do 24 hours community service and to see someone to get a review and possibly treatment for alcohol abuse. Online I read that most got off the first time. I think he just wanted the money. I have sent a email to him because of the CoronaVirus and Doctor meeting, that I could not do it. No response. As well I could have appealed it. But was not told until after the time was up to do that. Nothing changed from what the first Magistrate told me. Except I am out of pocket a few dollars. After Mr. Earwood got involved, it got worse in my opinion. I should have just taken the bench warrant since I live in a different country. Or come down myself. i could have pleaded guilty, did not need Mr. earwood for that for me.
