You basically get a three-course meal, with three choices for each course, for about €18. I had a sliced sausage with melted goat cheese app, a veal dish in champagne sauce, and a nougat ice cream. Mimsy's main dish was risotto with goat cheese and walnuts, the best I ever had. Our server was very helpful given our language barrier. The wine list is short and good, local white, rose, or red. I had, for fun, a bowl of chili and a bacon cheeseburger. The chili was Texas-style (no beans) and was very good; it as, indeed, better than much of the chili I had the two years I lived in Texas -- which alas isn't as high praise as it might be. The bacon cheeseburger would benefit from crispy American-style bacon, I think, but the French cheese was an improvement on the usual. The fries were well above average. Georgie, the pub pup, was also friendly and will be happy to collect any voluntary 'lunch tax' he might be offered -- more than is good for him, likely. The bar was well stocked, though the responsibility of driving kept me to a single beer. And then there's the view. We were determined on arrival (we hadn't noticed the name) to sit inside and relax after driving several hours with several more to go, but that view is not to be missed -- especially sitting in the shade on a sunny summer day.
