Overall a better than average Courtyard but customer service and cleanliness issues
Arrival: arrived by car, doorman/bellhop available and helpful. Check in process was decent. Provided a mild room upgrade for my Bonvoy status.
Room: two double beds (but the front desk promised two queen beds), very stained upholstered furniture, two TVs in the room and extra sitting space. This was a small quasi-sweet. Horrible, non-functioning little coffee maker, mini-refrigerator, safe, all the normal items.
Bed: decent bed with below average linens
Bathroom: horrible lighting, shower with no door (water escaping shower), but decent counter space. Mediocre hair dryer
Cleaning: decent housekeeping
Room service: Horrible! Ordered a burger cooked medium, and it was less than rare.
Restaurant: on site but abysmal service (the restaurant manager needs to be replaced because service as bad as we experienced can only be blamed on an incompetent manager)
Parking: decent below ground parking garage, no fee
General staff service: pretty bad! We had several staff interactions that left us wondering how this hotel is affiliated with Marriott. Example- the elevators only allow you to access your floor. But our floor didn't have an ice machine. When we called down to the front desk to explain the predicament and ask for ice, the staff member laughed out loud and said "I know!" So torturing guests over basic services like ice is a game here.
Misc: great location if you're attending a conference at the excellent conference facility in Merida read more
