They are superb! I had a flat tire and called around. All the other tire places said they wouldn't have time to do my tire and that I'd have to leave it overnight (ack, how would I get home?). I called up Courtesy Tire and they said to come on in and they'd get me out of there in 45 minutes. Not only that, but the price they quoted was much more reasonable than the other places. They fixed my tire up in less than 20 minutes and they have a great big comfy waiting room with popcorn, tv, and magazines I am definitely going back!!! read more

We first used these guys in October, 2004 and they have taken fantastic care of us ever since. Owners Kelly and Tim run a great shop that performs excellent work at fair prices. They've replaced tires on 5 of our vehicles, including 3 classic old VW buses. They've repaired all manner of mechanical and electrical issues, both under the hood and in the cab, and they always check to see if something is under warranty so they don't have to charge for it. Work is always completed the same day or next unless they have to wait for a part to be delivered. They are conscientious about checking to see if another problem is about to manifest itself, so we can make informed decisions about when to have other work done. I can't imagine having a better shop to service our automotive needs. These guys are the Gold Standard and we thank our lucky stars they are in West Seattle! read more

OMG how have i never written a review for this place?!?! I just brought my car in for it's 5k service on Friday. These guys are honest and take care of me. Always. I moved to Alki almost two years ago and continue going back to them for everything. I'm usually a hopper - i try out one place, then research yelp for another provider. It feels so good to start to find my trusty and reliable service providers and shops and to support local businesses. Courtesy Tire is one of these places. When I first moved here, they were booked out two weeks in advance for a car maintenance. (I can now see why they book out so quickly!) Kelly, the owner, was really cool on the phone. *** IMPORTANT NOTE *** They do not always book out 2 weeks in advance. I think that really only happens when the weather is warmer... summer? Otherwise, they have always told me i can bring my car in for the entire day if i drop it off super early and just wait for their call! That's what I did Friday. I dropped it off around noon and it was ready for me by end of day (6 pm). I walked around Junction and got some work done at a local coffee shop. During all my other visits, the service is done QUICK. Right when i plop down on their seats and admire the retro decor, and i'm about one bag in for their free buttered popcorn, they tell me my car is ready! I think the only thing that could make this place even better than it already is..... Non-GMO Popcorn? :P just kidding. **** end important note **** I've been back here for every single maintenance (about 4 times now), and also brought my car in November 2017 when my car completely died on the freeway. It was so frightening! I just remember the steering wheel got completely stiff, the lights went out and it just died. It did start up when jump started. I took my car to Toyota dealership and they charged me just to diagnose what was wrong with my car. They recommended a ton of services before I needed them. I wish i'd written this sooner because I like remembering specifics... it had to have been over $4k for all the services they were recommending. I declined service and Toyota warned me if i drove off the lot, i might not make it home. I called Courtesy Tire and Glen picked up. He was so amazing! Luckily, my partner at the time, was with me, and so we had an extra car to jump start the car in case the car died again. Luckily, we made it to Courtesy (even during traffic hour) in one piece! PHew! I don't think i've been so nervous driving since i was 16 :P I had to leave for a business trip shortly after and my partner isn't as detail oriented as me. I was afraid of this happening again, and I wanted to be the one who was in communication about what exactly happened and what services I needed to get. Glen was so awesome. He emailed me a complete workup and diagnostic - so not only did I have a written copy of everything, he followed through in a timely manner when I had a lot to worry about during my . business trip. He made it so easy! My car was done and waiting for me when I returned back to Seattle. THe price was so much more friendly... I believe around Mid $2k (Though to be fair, they said I didn't quite need all the services that Toyota was recommending.). One thing I really respect about Courtesy is that they don't talk smack - they explained that Toyota will generally recommend things to be changed out earlier according to factory specs - whereas these guys will be honest and SAFE. THey will treat your car like it's theirs. So if my brakes don't need to be switched out for another 6-8 months, they will let me know! It is REALLY really helpful. I"m the type of person that always wants to be prepared for things and unforeseen circumstances like this are definitely stressful if you don't have the budget set aside for it. I appreciated their honesty SO Much. They will even tell you what services to prioritize if you can't do it all at once. Sorry yelpers, i can't remember exact numbers... will be better about updating sooner next time! I freakin' love these guys and they will continue to be my trusty go-to source. I'm a life-long West Seattle-ite yet have never been to this place. Got a new tire via Amazon and was pleasantly surprised it gets shipped to their contractor, Pep Boy, and installed by appointment for only $20. Well, that blew up. Showed up at the appointed time and the boys wanted to have it All Day for a tire swap! And they were rude. Told them to put in my car and left. Drove past Les Schwab and happened to see Courtesy Tire on my way home. Thought what the heck and pulled in. Kelly was VERY helpful and courteous - and agreed to swap the tire in 20 minutes. I stopped by here after finding out my rear axel was broken. Kelly was quick to help me, provide me his initial thoughts on everything and ultimately worked to squeeze me in the next day. After having to tow my vehicle to their location, Kelly called to let me know the issue was much larger and provided his detailed thoughts / recommendations on working with the Mazda dealership directly. He advised he could still assist, but parts would not be available for 30 days. He was just so helpful, supportive and kind throughout my whole interaction. I've had three flat tires repaired here. Every time I'm always impressed and appreciative of the friendly and easy going customer service. They do a quick, quality, and reliable job. After my last repair they notified me that a recently replaced caliper (replaced at another shop) was the wrong size. I was able to follow up with the other shop and get it replaced for free. Unfortunately, I cannot trust these folks and will not be returning. I took my car to Courtesy for an alignment about a year ago, knowing that my camber bolts were seized up. (Btw you cannot do a proper alignment without turning these cam bolts.) Took it to courtesy and they acted like everything was just fine and dandy down there. Although I didn't ask them about it, I knew they weren't able to turn them and if they were they would've charged me for the labor it would've taken to get them unstuck. I recently just took my car to Tru Line Seattle for an alignment, and they actually told me that my cam bolts were seized up(no surprise) and how much it would be to fix the problem. I would rather pay more and have something done right then pay a little less(still a lot) and get screwed in the drive thru. If you want honest I wouldn't go here. read more

I usually would take my car to the Jaguar in Bellevue, however, that was not always convenient. In most cases I would drop my car off in the morning and it was done by the end of the day. One recommdation, make an appointment for an oil change, especially for Saturday's. Their appointment slots fill fast. My family and I (parents, siblings, and now me and my wife) all take our cars here. They aren't pretentious, aggressive or unrealistic. I remember one year we blew a tire and needed to replace all four because of our all wheel drive. We didn't have the cash or the credit because it was right after Christmas and they let us pay them over two pay periods. Now that may have something to do with the fact the service the cars of my entire family or it could be because they're working stiffs too and know these things can catch you off guard. Here's what I will say: These guys are nice, fair and honest with me about my cars. If something can wait a few months, they tell me. If it can't, they tell me that too. I was prepared to write a stellar review after the nice treatment I got from the manager Kelley, when it came to an oil change and tires around March. I went in today, because my EPC light is coming on and the car was acting strange. I had some codes. I don't know who just helped me, but he seemed bothered that I had codes at all. I realize they are not the end all be all, but I wanted SOME idea of what might be wrong, so I wouldn't be stunned or taken for a ride, especially being a woman. Long story short, after I tried to explain what was going on, he told me his first guess, and that how I tested it doesn't work. The thing is, I know for a fact it does. I even changed the part, and it fixed the problem at the time. The part isn't that old. When I politely explained this, he "close up shop" on me, and clearly didn't want to advise or talk to me any more. Excuse me for not being just a STUPID GIRL. I wish Kelley had been there, maybe he'd make things right, I don't know. I'm very perturbed, after telling so many people how much I'd liked the place. It was my first experience with something more (possibly) major, and I'm not impressed. I don't expect them to have all the answers without checking things, but there's no need to get all miffed when you find out I'm not clueless. It makes me suspicious that you were hoping to screw me over and failed. I miss the days when a mechanic could narrow it down without need of five hundred computer scans and 5,000 dollars later to find out it was the simple thing. One code showed a possible vacuum hose leak. Not even an offer to start there, start simple, first, and carry on. Nope. Just miffed I proved it wasn't the more expensive option. I WILL NOT go back. You could've have me as a regular, but you blew it. read more

You can't get better than these guys... and they live up to their name I brought my car in for 4 things today 1) broken rear wiper arm 2) broken rear tail light 3) oil change 4) engine light on dashboard I needed my car for a long trip, and they explained that while they didn't have any open spots, if i was willing to bring it in for a few hours they could fit it it around the other jobs. Within an hour, i was informed that the wiper was a specialty piece, that they'd called the dealer and even they would have to order it. They informed me of the price and said is that ok. I've heard of so many other companies just ordering the parts and you never know what to expect till the bill comes... not with these guys... truly courteous! They called me another hour later saying they'd fixed the rear tail light and oil change was complete. However, they explained the dash light was an issue, which they could fix. However, before they did, they had a suspicion this was covered under warranty and asked me to check. Indeed it was, so yet again... they are looking out NOT for themselves, but for the customer. The clerk told me I wasn't charged for an additional quart (this is $5?) of oil, as my jeep takes 6 quarts as opposed to the satndard 5 the first time. They expressed zero concern for this. This place is great. Just before a trip to Whidbey, I got a bad feeling about my car's breaks. The car I had at the time was, to be direct, an evil bitch, and I didn't trust it to get to Whidbey. I took it into Courtesy Tire to have the breaks and wheels checked out. That's when I found out the front pads and rotors were a mess, and that one of the axles needed to be replaced. The cost was too high to do everything at once, so I cancelled my trip and worked with Courtesy to figure out just what had to be done so I could get my car out of their lot. They were professional, direct and not at all condescending. (I'm female and feminine-looking - the other ladies are nodding in understanding right now, I'm sure.) They worked with me on price and made my car safe enough to drive home. Now I have a new car. I'll be taking it - that sweet, glorious, not at all evil thing - to Courtesy, too. read more

These guys are always great. Honest, dependable, clear explanations. (Like why I shouldn't by road hazard because by time you pay the pro-rated price for a replacement and renewed road hazard, you're two thirds into the price of a new tire). And their tires have lasted, in contrast with those of Elliot Tires, where every one I've bought has seemed to have some problems. There are closer tire stores than Courtesy to my house, but I'll go to Courtesy every time. So I'm wanting to sell my car but there is a weird sound coming from the front end and I wanted to get it fixed as to not pass on a potentially bad situation to the buyer. I leave it here, talk to the guy, he says there's all this stuff wrong and it'll cost over $400. I say just do it. So I go to pick it up, I ask "So the noise is gone right?" "Yep! But I still drive all the way over to W Seattle to get my car done. I started going to Courtesy Tire late 2011 when my dad was at a nursing facility close by in W Seattle and I needed a trustworthy and reliable shop nearby for convenience. My dad passed away late 2012, but I still take my car there. In the most recent experience, they not dealt with the problem at hand (i.e. a clutch issue), they also corrected work done by another shop. They made absolutely sure my car was done right. In the meantime, knowing I lived on the Eastside, they let me borrow their company truck (instead of suggesting I get a rental car.) Fortunately, I'm able to drive manual (the truck has manual transmission) because my car is a manual. They saved me the hassle and the extra cost. Great customer service!!! I trust them. Good guys. YOU CAN LET YOUR GUARD DOWN! I live in West Seattle and try to spend money there if I have a choice. So when my truck needed some attention, I researched on Yelp and brought to Courtesy Tire based on solid reviews. Now I'm here writing my own. Among the several issues I brought my truck in for was an exhaust leak. I didn't know the source of the problem and expected to spend a hundred or more just to have a shop find it, let alone fix it. I got a call from Tim Lubic about a half hour after dropping it off. He was straight with me... said it wasn't good... that I had a leak at the header gasket, which wouldn't normally be too big a deal, except one of the bolts holding it on had been sheered and since it was closest to the firewall, it would require removing the engine. I asked him to halt everything, called my wife, and we agreed that spending thousands more on this truck was not worth it. I called Tim back and told him we'd be picking up the truck after work. Thanked him for his being swift and forthright and told him we'd probably use the vehicle as a trade-in down the road. He agreed that it probably didn't make financial sense to do the job based on the vehicle's blue book value. When I went to pickup the pickup (couldn't help myself) they didn't even charge a dime for their work. We had a nice talk about customer service and how the Yelp reviews reflected the truth... Courtesy Tire is a great shop. I promised to reward him with my own review. I've worked in the service side of the auto industry before and I wish I could say it's mostly above board, but it isn't. I've been bringing my cars, pickups and suvs to Courtesy Tire for about 20 years. By the way, they do a lot more than just tires! (More on that in a moment.) Great customer service (if you've ready any of my other reviews, you know that I am a total customer service snob) and these guys are as honest as the day is long (to borrow a quote from my grandmother). They won't do work that the car doesn't need, but they don't treat you like a crazy person if they can't find the same noise that you swore was happening all the time. Fantastic service! Fantastic people! I called hoping to get my 2014 Nissan Versa in for a same-day set of new tires and whatever brake repair was needed. Tim answered the phone and did a great job taking care of me through the entire process! I was able to drop it off within an hour of calling and had it back not even 3 hours later! Tim let me know what did (and didn't) need replacing on my brakes and recommended some great all-weather tires that were on special. My car hasn't run this well in a long time, I'd highly recommend this service center to anyone! First time I went there for an oil change, the price was so much lower than Jiffy Lube, I thought something was wrong. I have gone back numerous times now, from battery issues to $1500 replacement of brakes and wheel bearings.
